@@Anonymous18817 I'm sorry to tell you, but it's just not gonna happen no matter how much you try, no women as of 2024 and since the beginning of Delta Force has ever passed Delta Selection or OTC and successfully became a Delta Operator let alone an Assaulter and that is likely never going to change anytime soon. But if you wish to work alongside Delta you can but only in a Support Role, it is known that some women do work in support jobs and tasks for Delta Force for their missions and it is quite common not only in Delta Force but also in other SpecOps such as DEVGRU and such. But a woman becoming an official Operator in any US Tier 1 Unit is just not gonna happen

I never heard ST6 down talk about Delta or any other unit. They don't punch down. Why does Delta? Jealousy but to be a tier 1 and the elite of the Army they sure act like children in that department and bickering. I have listen to a lot of ST6 interviews and there is not 1 that talks ill about Delta or another unit. Most of ST6 will even compliment the Marines and say they do the most with little support and cheap equipment. That's how a PRO should be in public.
@TypicalKid100
@TypicalKid100 Год назад
@@deathfire096 yeah that seems to be the case. I think some of that stems from, like you said maybe so jealousy of the spotlight they’re given, but also some of the scandals that have emerged over the years coming from 6. Plus the there’s the consistent gripe that SEALs can’t can’t keep up in landlocked theaters where infantry basics are critical, but seems like they got that figured out over time.
@deathfire096
@deathfire096 Год назад
@@TypicalKid100 It's like they (some) that go public dislike the SEALs(some) that make books and interviews in the open but they trash SEALs themselves in public. They don't apply their own standards. I'm a Veteran in the regular military and I know bickering and fights happens within especially in war but that should stay in house. If DELTA or another unit trains or deploys with the SEALs, any issues should be dealt with in house during debrief and training not be taking in public. I NEVER seen ST6 bicker about DELTA or any other community. It makes some DELTA members look small when they do it.

@@Anonymous18817 You have impossible chances of getting in and its not just because you're a woman. Delta Force don't just recruit because of physical prowess, but your ability to adapt. They only take the cream of the crop among men recruits, who are on par with Olympic athletes. But that's just a small part of it. They are more psychologically selective about their recruits than other branches. You're always in a state of selection, they can kick you out at any time of service. To be Delta, you have to be insane to some degree. You have a much better chance of trying out for tier 2 units where grueling physical training is the bigger focus. I'd look at other teams, and see, start small and work your way up and see where it takes you. How would they feel? It depends, can you bring your A game at all times? Can you prove you belong? You ain't shit till you share a fox hole.

@@Anonymous18817 The Mission, The Men & Me is a great book. Relentless Strike, Inside Delta Force, The Hunt for Bin Laden, and many more. You would not be the first women in CAG. Women have been there for decades. However, none of them are Operators. CAG is a place where exceptionally gifted Soldiers struggle to be mediocre. Negligent Discharge? You're gone. White Light ND? Gone. Pull shots outside the A Zone? Gone. There are obviously going to be people who simply don't want women on teams/troops. Most people don't care about anything other than one's ability to perform. That's the bar. Which is excellence on a bad day. My sage advice to anyone attending any Assessment and Selection has always been what an former Operator/1SG told me. Don't quit and learn from your mistakes. I served in the Army and was stationed at Fort Drum, 10th Mountain Division, in the mid 90s. Delta was there a lot. They were distinct looking and their eyes were different, cold and sharp. Often they would fly over with six of them hanging on to a ladder under a helicopter doing at least 100 mph, among other things. Insane, and their conditioning was elite level. My belief is that the difference is honor. You would never have had a Delta member profit off of the killing of Osama. NO WAY any of them would have talked about it. Man they would run by our units during PT in full ruck holding huge sniper rifles running at twice our pace, in combat boots. In perfect unison, eyes forward. HARD ASSES. And they were all white guys.

The thing is, they all have the same type of guy. But Delta is the only unit that is completely self sufficient. Lastly, delta will pull from anywhere. Even the band, or navy or Marine or National Guard. They only care if you can make it. In the book All Secure, Tom Satterly talks about the guy from the Army band making it all the way to the end.

Completely self sufficient? LOL You made that up? They are part of JSOC. They can't move a finger or get a penny without JSOC. Delta takes mostly from SF and Rangers. After 9/11 they were fighting 2 wars and needed to fill the slots so they take from out of the Army but very small % but it's still ARMY special force so they take 90% from within the Army. Just because you put operators from different communities doesn't mean they will be tight on their 1st deployment. Devgru are very tight because they have been in the same community doing deployments for years.

To say the Navy and Marines (belongs to the Department of the Navy) doesn't have Humvees is so false that I question your military knowledge. The Army gets the most Humvees than any other branch because they are the biggest branch and are primary land but all branches get Humvees. SEALS not only uses land transportation but Naval and Air. I'll never tire of Delta stories... Keep 'em comin'! When I think of Delta guys, I think of operators who are perhaps a tiny bit older than their ST6 counterparts.. and arguably a tiny bit more nerdy, whereas the Navy guys are gonna be more physically imposing. Different tools for different jobs. a Philips head isnt any better than a socket wrench... They're best utilized for differing tasks. Sure, there's lots of overlap and crossover, but I'm just trying to make a point here. Both orgs exist for a reason, and that reason isn't merely because our military bureaucracy loves redundancy and inflated budgets... Uhh, I mean, they do love that stuff too, but they also realize they can have both orgs and finely tune them for subtly differing missions. And I get a good kick out of the CAG/Devgru rivalry stuff.. you just gotta realize they're both amazing organizations and a little bit of friendly rivalry is healthy and totally normal for a job of it's kind.

Maybe SEALS look bigger and more athletic because ALL SEALS including ST6 must be Combat Divers Qualified, ALL. While in the Army only a very small community in Special Forces are Combat Divers. You can be in DELTA, SF or RANGERS and not be a combat diver. You have to be a combat diver in the SEALS including their Tier 1 ST6. Ask any Army personnel that Army Combat Diving School is the hardest qualification in the Army. So you know how harder is it in the Navy.

They were fighting 12hrs. If not for the USAF they all would’ve been screwed no doubt. . we only use socom or jsoc on issues that don’t actually matter like a hostage rescue. And his brother was a Marine from 1937-45. Graduated from 1st parachutist school. 3 Purple Hearts. 1 for a bayonet in the thigh at Guadalcanal in a battalion made up of 2 decimated parachutist and Raider battalions. Guadalcanal was his 3rd island in 2 days. After Purple Heart 3, he became a cadre at Pendleton to teach storm landings till be knocked out a 90-day-wonder 2nd Lt and let him float off in the Pacific. Lost 6 or 7 stripes, and busted was busted down to Corporal in 1944. Hit Okinawa via a submarine several hours before the attack. That was probably his 8th or 9th beach. Parachutists were probably a little better trained than Rangers. That’s combat. He didn’t write a book. One of the reason Devgru only recruits from the Naval Special Forces (SEALS/EOD) is all of them are qualified Combat Divers and years in the Naval Special Warfare community doing deployments. Making the teams tight. Only a small % in the Army are Combat Divers and is not mandatory to be a SF or Delta. Combat Diving is the hardest qualification in the Army but only a small % in the Army are. Different philosophies. DEVGRU in my opinion are a tighter team because they have been in the same community together for years. DELTA recruits from different communities, that doesn't mean they will be tight together on their 1 first deployment since all communities are different with their own history and heritage. Hats to both but water is a deal breaker for many. I can be Navy for years in 1 community and they put me with the Army which is a totally different community and in the first or 2 deployments it won't be tight for a while.

There are former DevGru operators flying for the Night Stalkers. SEALs, nor Raiders/Recon have dedicated aviation assetts. Navy primarily looks at war from a carrier-based Battle Group/Force & Strike Force or USMC ARG/MAG paradigm. Although they did use the USS Kitty Hawk as a JSOC/SF platform, after 9/11. All JSOC/Tier 1 uses the Army's 160th, by default. Army's own GB doesn't get them, by default. All that inbreeding nonsense you're spewing; nah, it's about operating in cold water. It takes someone special to keep their body functioning at the brink of hypothermia, for hrs-long transits to/from tics. SDV operators fuctioning for 10hrs unprotected from the cold is a feat that those whom have passed selection would be hard-pressed to accomplish. If you've ever been in a cold ocean, you'd know that swimming 6 miles, with all of your pack, as an SOP is not something a human being can do by 'winging-it.' Few warriors can do that.

SEAL = SEA, AIR, LAND. They get plenty of infantry training with lots of toys since BUDS and you are not even a SEAL after BUDS. It's a long pipeline and that's not including Green Team for ST6. You can't be in ST6 if you lack land skills or weapon skills. The difference is that ALL SEALS are Combat Divers. Only a small % in the Army are and Combat Diver is the hardest qualification in the Army.........Infantry means ground combat. What part of LAND in the SEAL name you don't get.
@sgedeon01
@sgedeon01 Год назад
@@deathfire096ALL SOCOM units that do direct action are trained to operate on sea, air and land. That is not exclusive to SEALs. Different branches focus more on different things. Infantry doesn’t just mean ground combat. You show your own ignorance when you say that. There are specialized skills that go into being a real infantryman. SEALs don’t get anywhere near as good infantry training as real infantry units do especially since the majority of of SEAL training is focused on maritime warfare. There are no infantry schools or infantry units in the navy. The reality of the matter is SEAL teams don’t put much emphasis on land warfare outside the shoothouse. When SEALs are taught “infantry” skills they are most of the time taught by other SEALs who have little to no infantry background. Compare that with the us army who has over a dozen infantry brigades. A brigade is about 3000 to 5000 soldiers. The us army has multiple infantry and infantry related schools. There’s infantry basic training, infantry AIT, infantry ALC and infantry SLC for infantry NCO’s. Ranger school is an infantry school since it focuses on small unit tactics leadership and patrolling under food and sleep deprivation. Other army infantry related patrol courses include SFQC, RSLC (formerly LRSLC), etc. SEALs don’t start learning small unit tactics until 3rd phase of BUDs. All army and marine infantry privates start learning SUT in their entry level training (called OSUT in the army) before arriving at their first duty station. The Hollywood description of SEAL capabilities (that they are as good or better than the army or marines on land) only works for people who never actually served or done their due diligence. You are not going to have the same level of proficiency on land when you spend the majority of your training in and around water. You literally go on every RU-vid page where a retired CAG soldier is interviewed, and as soon as something is stated about your infallible ST6 guys that you don’t like, you lash out. And most of your comments about the army when you comment are falsehoods. For you to say ST6 can do land warfare CT and HR as good as Delta while being superior on water, what you’re basically saying is Delta brings no specialized capabilities to the fight on land. And that’s obviously false. Army and marine units dominate land warfare. Navy units dominate littoral warfare. Air Force units dominate the air although army CAG is best trained for HR on a plane. Next thing your gonna say is SEALs do FID and UW as good or better than green berets since NSW occasionally dabbles in those things.

@@sgedeon01 oh my God what Dick. SEAls are specialized military unit that is highly trained and operate in small detachments. They are a rapid deploying force they can deploy to a mission quickly as needed. Army infantry it’s just basic Army grunts, soldier. Astronomical in terms of training pipeline and individual capability SEALs are special operators which means they have all the standard “infantry-like” skills an Army infantryman has plus an advanced infantry, small unit tactics skill set. SEALs are also all freefall, diver, demolitions, SERE, cold-weather etc, etc, trained. Regular army infantry are not. The most basic SEAL entry course, BUD/s is 6 months long and has an extremely high attrition rate because of how hard it is. Army infantry AIT is not nearly that long. Army grunts will get their job done and make the enemy eat some lead, but SEALs are just fewer, have a harder training and deployment program, and are more advanced and specialized. The skinny little 18 year old bald guys, the Army of None's and the SF Dudes are much better at digging fox holes with grenade sumps and interlocking fields of fire than any SEAL Team guy would ever want to be. Good on them. SF’s (love them) were definitely better at doing Army Infranty tactics stuff than SEALs or any private snuffy fresh out of AIT. They can set up a FOB like nobody else and they bring all the Gucci gear since they do it every other week. None of those weenies (not SF) will ever be involved in taking over a ship from the water line or removing shitbirds that have taken over an gas/oil platform in the Persian gulf. SEALs is not to dig in and defend the beaches or stand watch on the perimeter of the base. It's called the Point of the Spear. It is not the shaft nor the shield. Gunfights? ... Go find out how well MARSOC did during their deployment to AFG in ~2012/3?. Got so many guys killed that they were shut down and not allowed to do any more operations. If you bother to look at Devgru unclassified missions at JSOC, you would know that they are a lot more than water warfare. The rest of your bs is too long and too funny. I'll put any SEAL silly little shooting skills up against any unit at any time with any beer. You are nothing more than a fox digging hole Army Grunt wanna be.
@sgedeon01

@@deathfire096like I said almost all of your comments have been falsehoods. There are no formal infantry schools in the navy to teach “advanced infantry tactics.” And you can’t name any either like I did for the army. SEALs small unit tactics skills range from terrible to mediocre. Small unit tactics are infantry tactics conducted at the squad and platoon level. I doubt you could even name what light infantry tactics are. As far as shooting goes NSW has never won USASOC sniper competition and rarely have they ever placed in the top five whenever they participated. Delta usually wins when they participate although they performed much much lower than expected this year. They still outshot the SEAL team that participated this year though. If NSW is the best at shooting why don’t they ever win and rarely ever place to five? NSW is only super elite to the rest of the navy. That’s why. You’re unhinged, obsessed with ST6, and have to make stuff up because you refuse to believe the fallibility of your heroes.

I prefer ST6 for maritime and perhaps equally like them as a strike team for direct action where it’s just in and out but I’m not gonna lie that’s where it ends. I think Delta has shown to be better suited to operate alone. Delta functions better independent, locked off from support or higher command for long periods of time. They are better at decision making, problem solving and often are more experienced. They are better at hostage rescue and scouting terrain. They are better at infiltration as civilians and to train other people. From what I heard also better at working with other forces. Just like the sas, select from all different forces including seal team 6 and have a very diverse skill set and they all learn from each other which I see as a massive advantage. They are a lot more secretive and from what i have heard have more funding. They also work closer to ISA and CIA than ST6 and are basically just SAS but with USA size funding.

If you had to go to CAG selection again, how would you prepare differently? Has a woman ever graduated from the Operators Training Course? I’m 5’8” and 173lbs, is that a good or bad size? What books or workout programs would you recommend to prepare for it?

Yes, that's because most delta guys were rangers or SF guys and in their training they are use to rucking miles alone in a isolated group. Whereas Seals are not use to rucking as much as those guys. They are more direct action where they are helicoptered into a target and do their work.

@@nickjohnson710 both selections are the hardest in their branches. Both are Tier 1 under JSOC. The main difference is ALL SEALS have to be Combat Divers Qualified. No exceptions, ALL. @@nickjohnson710 you heard? LOL. Although much of the training and recruitment is classified, there are some requirements and training exercises that are now public knowledge. The requirements to apply for DEVGRU states that applicants must be male, be 21 years old or older, have served at least 2 deployments on their previous assignments, and be eligible for Secret clearance. Candidates come from the East/West Coast SEAL teams, SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV) teams, the Special Boat teams (for Gray Squadron), the Navy explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams, and Navy SARCs. Enlisted candidates must be in the pay grades of E-4 through E-8 and Officer candidates need to be O-3 through O-4 to apply. Candidates must undergo physical screening, psychological testing and are then interviewed to deem whether they are suitable for assignment to NSWDG.Those who pass the stringent recruitment process will attend an eight-month selection and training course with the unit's training department known as "Green Team". The training course attrition rate is high, usually around 50%; during one selection course, out of the original 20 candidates, 12 completed the course. All candidates are watched closely by DEVGRU instructors and evaluated on whether they are suitable to join the individual squadrons. Howard E. Wasdin, a former member of SEAL Team Six said in a 2011 interview that 16 applied for SEAL Team Six selection course and two were accepted.Those who do not pass the selection phase are returned to their previous assignments and are able to try again in the future. Candidates are put through a variety of advanced training courses led by civilian or military instructors. These can include free climbing, land warfare, advanced unarmed combat techniques, defensive and offensive advanced driving, advanced diving, communications and Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape training. Candidates are also taught how to pick locks on cars, doors, and safes. All candidates must perform at the top level during selection, and the unit instructors evaluate the candidate during the training process. Selected candidates are assigned to one of the Tactical Development and Evaluation Squadrons. Unlike regular SEAL Teams, SEAL Team Six operators can attend almost any other military course to receive further training depending on the unit's requirements. Like Delta Force, live-fire marksmanship drills in both long-range and close-quarter battle drills are done with hostage roles being played by other students to help build the candidates' trust between each other. DEVGRU regularly trains and operates with special forces units from other countries such as the British Special Air Service and Special Boat Service, Australia's Special Air Service Regiment and 2nd Commando Regiment, Israel's Shayetet 13 and Canada's Joint Task Force 2 Like all special operations forces units that have an extremely intensive and high-risk training schedule, there can be serious injuries and deaths. SEAL Team Six/DEVGRU has lost several operators during training, including parachute accidents and close-quarters battle training accidents. It is presumed that the unit's assessment process for potential new recruits is different from what a SEAL operator experienced in his previous career, and much of the training tests the candidate's mental capacity rather than his physical condition. Every candidate chosen will have already completed their respective advanced training pipelines; Basic Underwater Demolitions/SEAL training, the Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman training, Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman training, the Navy EOD training or Navy Dive School.
