Gotta love this detail 22:46 It glows red behind Kris because they just got their soul out, and then their speech bubble fades white as they get their control back and tells to come back anytime while shivering!!
Or just was exposed to so many relationships in other media that he didn’t realize aromanticism is a thing. It’s actually a pretty common thing for aromantics to assume strong platonic feelings are the same as romantic feelings
11:18 i love how perfectly this comic captures papyrus, sure hes carefree and a bit naive, but hes not a child either and is well aware of how other people view him in an interaction.
20:08 Oh my god, this comic is *exactly* how it feels when you come from an abusive home and get invited over by someone with a loving family. It's a lovely time until the reality of the situation hits you and then your mind walls itself of. The world around you gets blurry, the edge of your vision goes dark, all the color suddenly drains from the room, every sound becomes a distant, garbled mess, and all you can do is stare down at your plate and try not to cry. But even after going through all that, you kinda wanna come over again- God this comic is actually so friggin good.
shit- I'll admit the meaning of the comic kind of flew over my head at first (i thought it might have been about that but i wasnt sure) but seeing it described this way and then watching it again hits really close to home now (in a cathartic way though). makes me really feel for susie while also getting a lil bit emotional >w
The music even makes me feel a weird feeling hard to describe… like every time the comic shifts back towards kris’ house and how they ate dinner (the music plays as well) it felt like you were home. But then once it was outside the whole vibe changed. I love how amazing this is edited 😭
Been having a rough morning, and that last one actually made me cry. The sibling dynamic, the voice acting, the fact that someone made a comic about the feeling of accidentally rediscovering a song from your childhood... I'm feeling better now.
@@pokkiheart thats great!!! please push through this, the world can be terrible sometimes but that shouldn’t stop you from living your best life. sending good thoughts ❤️
14:15 I love how Kris has literally no decoration on their side of their room so this implies this is the first thing Kris has decorated their room with.
man what a way to end this one. ive seen the clair de lune comic before and the dub adds so much to it. well done edit: listen ultrakill is a really cool game but clair de lune is just a cool ass piano piece shut da hell up about the game
@@huskobuskoI know the bridge level where you have to clear the gate to cross through, but you have to go to the underbelly of the bridge to disable the gate. Though the comic said you just walk through it with piano music. As far as I remember there wasn't any piano music or anything. It was just the standard Half-Life soundtrack. That comic actually reminded me of that level a lot. Sttange
2:44 tip: put the bottle under your shirt and then try opening it through your shirt, almost works everytime. I think its got something to do with your shirt helping you grab it and tunr it just right, or maybe having more then our hands helps it open? Or the fabric of the shirt? Idk jist trist me ive done this for i think years now, and haven't had any issues since
Our hands secrete an oil that typically we don’t notice due to being in such small quanities and evaporating/ being reabsorbed quickly, but when you do difficult things with your arms, the oil production increases to keep you cooled down, but also makes your grip worse. Hands are also not the best at gripping things anyway. When you use a shirt, the shirt absorbs the oil you produced, and naturally has better grip anyway. This is why it doesn’t usually work with a metal gripper if you already tried with your hands: the oil makes it too slippery for the metal to properly grab the lid. Therefore, the comic is accurate.
im like 90% sure you commented this because it was a cool little trick you had no other place to talk about so the second the oppertunity came up you had to comment this, or i might just be weird, i literally dont know.
The comic with Suzie and the pie felt so sad, yet vaguely ominous. I do wonder why the game hasnt mentioned anything about her parents yet, though I'm guessing the answer is a sad one.
Might be we never actually hear the full situation-at-home. Doesn't totally matter what kind of situation it is- just that Susie as a teen wants as little to do with it as possible.
@@Haunted_Plush An eating disorder where you compulsively eat things that aren't edible. The most common forms are stuff like hair and fingernails, but I've also seen blood, ground up tires, etc.
I love the comic of Susie staying over to eat pie is beautiful. Beyond the enirety of Susie's reactions, there's the running theme of Kris getting talked over by others, which fits with their general lack of control. Or the little pause after Susie calls the evening "normal": with everything going on in their life right now, their brother leaving, their parents getting a divorce, their soul being possessed by an otherworldly entity (also, 29:12), how many evenings did they percieve as being normal recently?
@@Lily.Plays.Piano.I really appreciate to see that song used somewhere else, in the game section it appeared was so short, just like Sugar Star Planetarium
@@Lily.Plays.Piano. THANK YOU, I was wondering what song it was since I couldn't find it in the credited songs, but I thought it was something from Omori
6:45 Although I've never played Omori, from what I've seen of the game, Kris and Sunny are also very similar However, considering the general tone of the game Omori, I can gather that Sunny and Link are not very different And since both Link and Sunny are both similar to Kris, we can conclude that Kris is the in-between of Link and Sunny, with Frisk being used as a basis for their design What does this mean? Nothing. Probably. EDIT: I also just realised: Sunny uses a knife, Link uses a sword, and Kris uses both. Kris is a combination of the two characters (Also I changed it to the correct name)
I rapidly go between different ends faster than people can process Leading to a paradoxical nature of being at every single individual point Also apparently I have the same personality type as Shinji I’ve never watched evangelion
They both hurl themselves off of very tall things, fight weird ass monsters with way too many eyes, can’t throw hands to save their lives, and have to rescue blond people from demons. So IDK, Link and Sunny might be a bit more alike than you think.
That last comic... I literally wept. It's just so deeply human. I'm also a pianist to whom Claire de Lune means a lot, so it really tugged on my heartstrings.
I find it funny how I significantly prefer the memes between 23:47 and 24:58 over the higher quality ones beforehand. It’s probably because a lot of the previous ones are supposed to be part of a bigger narrative or are basically just back to the “sans and papyrus angst” era of comics due to the Q&A, so these goofy ahh memes are really funny.
13:19 I love this because Susie was originally a Maya Fey clone, according to Toby Himself 22:25 ARGH! That hurt a lot. Having to depend on outside DT to live must hurt. This comic is AMAZINGLY MADE. Also, scoring it to Poems in the Fog is such a good idea!
@@oishi_sammich4542 Relying on Determination (the will to live and change the world, necessary for sentience according to Undertale) from the SOUL instead of DT generated by themselves. It's likely Kris would experience something similar to "Falling Down" if they took us out for too long.
@@oishi_sammich4542 Happy to help! Keep in mind that this may be outdated, depending on how much DT it takes to open a fountain (they put us back in immediately instead of after a few hours, so it might only shorten their autonomy time).
34:25 is a lot more than I was expecting really, it's really relatable and really almost made me cry watching it, very well written and props to the artist for making it I really enjoyed it,
I don't think you were the first person to notice that... but still... the song's fucking beautiful... I've heard so many times but never knew the name... I finally know the name now...
This actually made me cry but not only bc of how wholesome it is, it made me cry because it was the song that got me into piano, my mother loved it. I remember getting home from school playing it while enjoying my mother's smile... That's not something I will live again
oh hey i made that last comic!! glad to see so many ppl liked it :) walking over the suspension bridge was a reference to highway 17 from half life 2, specifically the part where “lab practicum” plays. people keep confusing it for ultrakill lol. I’ve played ultrakill but I forgot claire de lune was in it tbh
Dude I really thought it was an ultrakiill reference cause there is a part in ultrakill where clair de lune plays over a level with no enemies and a suspension bridge LOL
The whole comic from 34:25 to 37:06 is one of the best short comics I’ve seen for Deltarune. It’s topics with old memories and loss (even if Azzy isn’t dead) feel so real, and pairing it with the song just leaves a sourness in my gut, in a good way. Just needed to gush about this comic.
I think Toby should release the chapters at least a week apart, give the internet time to digest before the next one (I know I’ll be worried about missing the secret boss or whatever is there if I have to more on to the next chapter as to not be spoiled)
@@channel_name-xt3swWait what? That's a bad idea, he should release each chapter after like 3 weeks to let people find out every detail, or is it his plan to make people miss out on something?
as always i absolutely love your voice acting for the characters!! this is exact how i imagine them sounding while playing the game, thank you for making my day LVoid
33:48 Susie should have been “ if fighting is sure to result in victory then you must fight! Tzun zu said that! And I think he knows a little more about fighting than you do pal, because he invented it! And then he perfected it so no man could best him in the ring of honor! Then he used the fight money to buy two of every animal on earth! Then he herded them onto a boat, and beat the crap out of every single one! and from that day whenever a bunch of animals are together in one place it is called a ZOO! Unless it’s a farm!”
WAHOO !!! a lot of my art is in here thank you so much !! 27:59 is one of mine and I have to say the bwomp sounds really took me out that was perfect HDNSJSNNDJ very grateful to see the scc representation even if it’s just me :’] also capsei win!!!
I have ptsd from this comment (if you’ve read a certain deltarune fangame or watched a certain video from AwesomeAndrewGames you’ll understand what i mean)
I love the UT/DT community because they'll take just one fan idea and make plenty of great art based off it. For instance, the "Papyrus is The Knight" theory.
Okay but that ending comic though?! My goodness, that had no right to be as touching as it was. I struggle to put into exact words everything I liked about it. It's something to do with how, despite Asriel and Kris' clearly being jokey and doing classic sibling stuff, the reminiscent and nostalgic feeling of the comic wasn't lost. In that right it's kind of beautiful, thinking about how the fun times of the past could cause such sad feelings int he present. Bravo to this, amazing work.
13:13 Random thought, but when Spamton says “IMMEDIATELY!” right here, it reminds me of the tone Jack Skellington used when the Town Mayor asks when they should host the Town Meeting and stuff.
Hearing a couple seconds of Nightmare Night sent my brain back 10 years- thank you for the time travel whiplash (also for the memes bc they fuel the part of my brain set aside specifically for Deltarune)
I’m loving the perfect mix between heart-wrenching comics with beautiful music and dubbing right next to like “ay caramba” /gen Thank you for another compilation :] 👍👍👍

34:25 rarely do fanworks emotionally invest me but… fuck, thats good. Just so well written. It puts the reader in the exact same emotional state as the characters in every scene. First intrigue as Noelle talks about the game, then humor from the flashback but the music ads a regretful edge to it. And then just sadness as you watch these two children’s shared trauma overwhelm them. it’s honestly beautiful, they’re so miserable but they have each other.
34:25 this part of the video is my favourite, you did such a good job executing it with the music timing and the dub aswell. Just gets me coming back just to listen to it and read the comic after words
