Two small bits of information, but souls are mentioned in one of the library books in Hometown. Additionally, Ralsei does refer to himself and Lancer as both being darkners right after Lancer and Susie rejoin the party in Chapter 1.

I do think that Ralsie is 100% a darkner, as Queen realizes they were in a computer lab, so that is not mutually exclusive to him. Also, his sprite has color, as do all the other darkners. I did enjoy this video, it was surprisingly well paced for how convoluted the subject matter is. I am looking forward to your new videos -thumbs up-

@BBK113 Ralsei is made from the "main" fountain of pure darlness that is implied by the way tjr legend is narrated to be the "natural occuring one", so it stands to reason he doesn't work by quite the same logics as other darkners do Also, Ralsei said "might", so it's not even a guaranteed thing to happen, like Rouxls who only becomes stone a good while after Lancer does, even though they both enter the Dark World at the same time (and Rouxls was out of Kris pocket for far longer than Lancer, tho we dont know if that had any influence)

My favorite theory probably has to be the Universal Mother theory. It basically states that Queen is some sort of personification of the Lightners’, and to an extent, Ralsei’s mothers, sharing several key traits to what are likely their mother. For example, Queen trying to build some sort of relationship with Kris and Kris alone might reflect how Toriel is locking Kris in the atmosphere of solitude in their home, whether intentionally or not, or Queen quite literally forgetting that Ralsei exists for most of the chapter, reflecting how Ralsei’s parents literally left him alone, fending for himself against the looming threat of a world ending prophecy.

10:06 Correction: Asriel come *next week*, not *in a week*. Considering Toriel let Susie and Kris sleep late and that church day seems near, Chapter 2 probably occur a Friday, so it's possible he will arrive sooner.

That puts him back.. if we assume 3 is Saturday and 4 is sunday, that means chapter 5 is the soonest I do wana see him, but I'm left to wonder if flowey will have any role in this story? Would there be a darkner based off him? I've see quite a few people mark art of such a thing humm.. who knows? A flowey sequel boss could be cool, and maybe it could be implied he's the same flowey somehow with all the gaster connections we have
@str4nger-d4nger
@str4nger-d4nger Месяц назад
late but that makes a lot of sense considering the newsletter stuff we've gotten about chapter 3 and 4. It seems chapter 3 will be on the same day as 4, making it so that Asriel coming in a week would mean he would come after chapter 7, and therefore after the game is done. Him coming next week still means we'd only see him in chapter 6 at the very least, though..

i'm not sure if it's a theory, but i personally believe that kris slashed toriel's tires and opened a fountain to bring undyne and the cops into the dark world when you go talk to undyne at the end of chapter 2, you can tell her about the dark world, and the way she responds makes it seem like kris is worried about people falling in and getting hurt (obviously, undyne doesn't believe them) if kris is worried about the safety of others because of the dark world, i think it would make sense for them to create a situation where the police are certain to show up and open a fountain so they are forced to believe them it would also explain why they still open a fountain after the weird route despite their classmate dying in the dark world
@Monkebs45
@Monkebs45 11 месяцев назад
Yes, but it’s not a required objective. How do they know Undyne won’t believe them if they don’t even ask? They are still mildly sensible, so why would they just automatically go to slash tires?
@Leo-kh1fd
@Leo-kh1fd 11 месяцев назад
@bornasotoudeh4044 I doubt anyone would believe someone, especially a kid with a mischievous streak like kris, if they told them that there's a secret dark world full of objects turned sentient, especially in a world where magic is seemingly absent. For the slashing tires thing, it is odd, yes, but seeing as we control kris pretty much all the time, i don't see anything else they could do to guarantee the cops show up while also being certain that they can bypass the player's control in order to do whatever they need to
@Monkebs45
@Monkebs45 11 месяцев назад
I can, but makes sense that Kris might not.
@hecdudeh2o969
@hecdudeh2o969 11 месяцев назад
I think it might feel weird to some players If that were to be Kris’ motivation, since the Undyne dialogue is optional. It might feel out of nowhere to players that haven’t seen it, as Kris’ concern for others’ safety regarding the dark worlds would not be established. But perhaps if they leave that motivation unstated, and only implied, it could feel natural for the average player, while being obvious to the true theorists and deltarune nerds who know about the Undyne dialogue whether they saw it in their playthrough or not. I do worry that this could also go against the often assumed idea that Kris loves the dark worlds for the escapism they grant them. It would be weird to call the cops on something you derive a lot of joy from.
@Leo-kh1fd
@Leo-kh1fd 11 месяцев назад
@hecdudeh2o969 i don't think it would be all that surprising, honestly the first chapter is relatively harmless, but in the chapter 2, their classmates (one of which being their childhood friend) get dragged into a world they don't know, and while noelle makes it out okay at the end of a normal route, berdly does get kidnapped and controlled by queen. even when the fight against him goes well and he doesn't lose his arm/wing/limb, i don't think it would be weird for kris to be worried apart from that, kris clearly doesnt want us controlling them, and they dont really have more control over themself in the dark world, so i can't help to wonder how much fun they can truly have there when they're not free to make any choices? and a big part of the game is how we can't/don't communicate with kris. the last chapter ended with a somewhat unexplainable action from them as well, where many thought they were going to kill someone, when really they were seemingly just hungry. we have no clue how kris feels or what they want

About Ralsei knowing the layout of Light World, so does Queen. She mentions extending the Darkness past the confines of the Library. So I don't think it's the very suspicious thing that people make it out to be.

Ralsei implies he's a Darkner, but he never outright states that he is one. The closest he gets to actually calling himself a Darkner is saying "* Our purpose - Darkners' purpose - is to assist them." but he doesn't actually say "hi yes i am a darkner" In fact, calling him a Darkner is avoided. The menu calls him a "Lonely Prince" and "Dark-World being" instead of simply saying Darkner. He calls himself a "prince from the dark" by asserting himself as part of the prophecy, but i think its wholly possible he's just. not a darkner. or at least not a normal darkner by any means...

11:45 If I recall correctly, there was some official concept art of the prophecy that labelled the heroes of the prophecy as "Human", "Susie", and "Ralsei", confirming the Prince from the Dark is, in fact, Ralsei. As for the human, it's possible that Kris just wasn't named yet. Though, there is evidence (specifically on TCRF) to say that Kris was named by 2012 at latest, so there's some potential there I suppose.

I believe ralsei looks like asriel because (if he’s the red horns) Kris wore the headband because they wanted to look like asriel and the rest of their family, to belong. Therefore, the headband as a darkner represents what Kris wanted when wearing it. (Very dumbed down version: ralsei is Kris’s fursona)

I keep tabs on Deltatubers as I like to nickname them, and one of the things I'd say that sets your channel apart is how straight to the point you are. You don't seem to get too tangled in details, which can lead you astray and tangent yourself into a corner. Anyone who has just played Undertale and Deltarune would benefit greatly from your stuff! As interest for Chapters 3-5 comes rolling in, we're going to see a lot of newcomers so it's great to have videos like these. Great work.

13:09 Ralsei does in fact refer to himself as a Darkner in Chapter 1 when Lancer and the fun gang walk to the card castle. When Lancer says walking with them makes him feel important, Ralsei says it’s because he’s walking along side Lightners: “Our Purpose - Darkners’ Purpose - is to assist them” Not only does Ralsei outright say he’s a darkner but that he believes Darkners exist to serve Lightners which I find very interesting.
@TheSoulCalledZuzia

Isn't this wording a little bit weird though? People don't usually talk this oddly specific way. Why the need to correct "our purpose" to "darkners' purpose" unless there is something deeper behind those words?

@t.funkthecoolmunk5472 11 месяцев назад
@@TheSoulCalledZuzia I guess, but Ralsei is still referring himself as a Darkner. Unless the game is implying Lancer isn’t a Darkner as well which I doubt. I’d like to use this opportunity to showcase a theory I have crafted a while back: Mike is a Lightner. It sounds strange, but I have my reasoning. In "BIG SHOT," the Freedom leitmotif plays 2 times. During the 2nd time, a voice (Spamton's voice) can be heard. One may hear the voice saying "I think it's coming for me. Answer the phone. I can't explain until you're all alone. It pulls the strings and makes them ring until your heart starts to break up." Who did Spamton want to answer the phone? Mike, of course. The heart part could be literal, and referring to the SOUL, which is something only Lightners have as far as we know (looking through this now, probably just humans, but you get the idea). Now, how would Mike and Spamton communicate (going off of the assumption they're in different worlds)? The phone, of course! The phone could possibly help communicate to different Dark Worlds. All of this, or the dialogue is referencing the heart and phone attacks.

Regardless of if he is or isn't the knight, I do think it is highly possible we will get an IceE pezza Dark World.

I think the vessel we created at the start of the game is the Roaring Knight, both because it makes sense and because having the strange, discarded, greyscale child without a soul be the Knight would make it tie in to Hollow Knight, another of my favorite games.

One of Toby's influences is a game called "Moon RPG". In Moon, the story begins with a child playing a video game and going around, killing all the monsters as a "brave knight". The actual meat of the game is going around afterwards and cleaning up the knight's mess, and helping the monsters. There's a lot of stuff here that probably influenced Toby, and even an unused ending in the game's files that fills in on some missing lore. I can bet even that unused stuff influenced him too.

I quite like a theory adjacent to this one. It's called Oblivion Theory. To sum it up briefly, Gaster required your input before starting Deltarune, as he said on Twitter ("using your responses we will approach its realization") and as evidenced by the name of the first file being "SURVEY_PROGRAM." What he required was for you to create a vessel, which this theory states will be the Knight, as it continuously creates Dark Fountains for you to seal, keeping you playing.

The Universal Mother Theory is my favorite. It both gives insight of the other’s home lives, and makes sense. If Noelle’s mother is known to treat her badly, and Queen treats her similarly, why couldn’t it apply to everyone else? The way she treats them lines up with their character, for example she ignores Berdly, and kids with loving and supporting families don’t believe they need to be smart to be loved. It also points out the bad relationship between Toriel and Kris, something I feel is not touched on enough. All in all, it’s a great theory.

Thank you for class, Professor. While I'm at a higher level than your target student body, its nice to take a refresher course. My tuition is currently being processed by the faculty. As for my favorite theory, its a realization I had but I _highly_ doubt I'm the first to think of. Gaster will appear, but not as a villain. He is an antagonistic force, I won't deny that, but I think a lot of the fanbase has a misunderstanding about him. He is, first and foremost, a scientist. Thus, when paired with Mollystar's Device Theory, I believe that Gaster will interface with us at some point. We have seen the game make a distinction between "Kris" and "You" in the game, so I imagine Gaster will have some moment later on where he thanks us for helping with the experiment while addressing Kris as a separate entity. Now I don't think this will be straight up "Oh Gaster is aware of our world!" I agree with Jaru that having our world directly addressed would probably be bad writing, but instead the fictional "You" will be the focus of his actions. Maybe even leads to a plot of him ripping "You" out of Kris and into the discarded Vessel, leading to a sequence akin to the Doopliss chapter in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door where our former allies turn on us, save for an entity that is away of "You" and/or a character that was previously treated as either a reoccuring nuissence or a throwaway nobody. Perhaps the Knight, even. But that's some heavy speculation on my part, bordering on fan fiction.

A personal favourite theory is the one that suggests the secret bosses are all based on characters from an episode of The Twilight Zone where a group of distinct people are trapped in some sort of hole. The personality and aesthetics of the two currently-known secret bosses match up fairly well with the clown character, who is focused on having fun and mentions hell at least once, and the homeless man, who is in denial about the situation. The end of the episode reveals that they’re all toys in a donation bin, abandoned by their previous owners.

As NEO, that is. Plus, his narration uses scrapped Undertale lines and both bosses have voice actors 13:09 I think that he's either preparing Kris to rebel against us, or, more likely, explaining to Kris why they should NOT get rid of us until we save the world and thus trying to placate them and get them to play along 13:35 He speaks in first person plural when speaking of Darkner's purpose, his manual is dedicated to the fountain of darkness that "gives [his] body form", and I think he also talked about it in the pacifist ending of CH1, but I could be wrong 14:22 That may have happened the other way around, that Asriel is an anagram of Ralsei, which is an anagram of Serial, and which came from an old project of Toby, if Toby is to be believed.

In both sections of the game thus far when Susie goes off on her own and Ralsei asks Kris to imagine what she's doing, things kind of feel a bit off, like, spatially. In chapter one, when Lancer has the guards take the fun gang to the dungeon, the cells are directly next to each other, close enough for Kris and Ralsei to be able to hear Susie through the wall, and the narrow passageway to the hall where the Susie vs Lancer fight happens is very much straightforward, just a straight path from the cell to the hall, at least on Susie's side. But the hall to get from Susie's cell to the others cell, is much longer than you'd expect it to be considering how close together we saw the cells to be just a scene earlier. Granted, maybe there are some larger corners in between the two rooms than it looks, i think you even take a pair of turns to exit Kris and Ralsei's cell into the bigger hallway, but i know for a fact if there is, it does not go far away enough from the other passageway to to make the distance between the two cells make any sense, and it feels like some teleportation shenanigans are at play here. In chapter two, Berdley takes Susie through a shortcut to Noelle's room where she is being held captive. By the time Susie reaches Noelle's room on the other hand, Kris and Ralsei are but a few steps away. Granted this could be explained by Berdley intentionally making the journey longer to spend time with Susie, but even beyond that, to exit the room, Susie and Noelle go over to a huge hole in the room where a ferris wheel of love just happens to be parked and ride it for a good length of time, seemingly only going in one straight direction the entire time, only to end up on some rafters directly above Kris and Ralsei, only a few feet away from the room in the OPPOSITE direction they went in, all of this when they could have just left the room through the door and booked it to Kris and Ralsei in record time. What i'm trying to say is..... Am i the only one that noticed these? It's not a whole lot but i can't help but think about how it's JUST strange enough where i'm not sure if anything was meant by it, but i still can't shake the feeling that there is something happening here. This being at the two points in the story so far where Ralsei carjacks the narrative and makes you imagine what Susie is doing, makes me question if maybe we WERE suppose to pick up on this and just missed it entirely, not even thinking about it at all.

ralsei does seem to think he's a darkner, as he seems to lump himself in with other darkners (specifically Lancer and Queen) when discussing the purpose of darkners. however, from what i've been able to find, nobody else ever refers to him as a Darkner. the dark world's party member also refers to him as a "Dark World being." my personal theory is that he's a vessel or goner of some kind, but not the vessel we make at the beginning of the game. maybe he was one made for asriel?

If the "Mike" that Spamton refers to is in fact a reference to the Mike Ditka commercial, I think it would make a lot of sense for him to be the secret boss of chapter 3. So far, just like with the vessel, the secret bosses have themes of being "discarded". People tend to throw away the Joker card when they open a new deck, everyone deletes spam emails, and most people skip or even block ads/commercials.

It seems more likely this cathode crew will be some future antagonists rather than Mike by the way Spamton speaks of them.

Maybe Mike was the one helping Spamton achieve success. Communication between dark worlds isn’t too far off, considering King and probably Jevil know who Queen is. And the reason for Mike not speaking to Spamton anymore might be the Cathode Crew capturing him and using him for their own personal gain.

I think that the 7 chapters we see in the chapter selection is because of the 7 souls needed in Undertale. Now, the REASON I think this is because there is the exact same theme with Undertale's save files. In Undertale there is Files 0 and 9. File 8 is created at the moment Flowey closes the game tab on s neutral route, indicating that 8 is his. Omega Flowey directly uses saves 1-3 during the fight, but some of his unused attacks used 4 and 5 too. So it's assumed that Files 1-6 were the humans that were killed after Chara. While File 7 is extremely mysterious. It was likely someone who came AFTER the 6 humans were killed, but BEFORE Flowey was awakened by Alphys injecting DT into him. Now!! In Deltarune, we have 7 chapters in the selection menu. But there is also a Chapter-9 and Chapter-0 in the code. Those chapters will be meta-chapters somehow. Because those numbers SAVE_FILE counterparts in Undertale have a TON of evidence suggesting that they belong to Chara and Frisk/Us. More specifically Chara being File_0 and Frisk/Us being File_9. Look up FAT. Or "File Attribution Theory". Chapter 0 likely covers the story of the ??????? area before entering Castle Town, and Ralsei's whole deal. Because that correlates to Chara, the first fallen human who was a part of the story BEFORE we entered it. Which is what File_0 and Chapter 0 would thematically have in common. Whilst _Chapter 9_ on the other hand likely will be the determining factor for the ending we get. Perhaps a secret ending, because of the fact that its Undertale SAVE file counterpart.... is Frisk. Or us the player. ... So... Frisk was how we viewed the story of Undertale and decided it's fate with our decisions. Therefore Chapter 9 should thematically reflect this. Maybe it's where we break free from our constraints. While idk how this might work, Chapter 8, after the other chapters, should be the one where we finally battle the night. Since Flowey who was the *"Big-Bad"* in Undertale has his save file labeled "File_8" which also lines up well with how the night is giving off some real final boss energy. Chapter 7 though..... i actually have no ideas at all. File_7 doesn't really have any more or less 100% connected canodates for characters to thematically link to the chapter. It's definitely the most mysterious. Each chapter may pay omage to the souls traits however. Because while the whole "Secret bosses are genocide bosses in refers order" theory is a thing... what if the hart turning yellow in the Spamton fight has more to do with representing the soul trait for justice? And each chapter will have a new mechanism for the traits, which would also explain why Toby has said there will be new mechanics. It could be talking about a million things, but could also be fleshing out the traits/colors we never got to see in Undertale, among other things.

That's a really cool theory! I'd like to add to it by looking at the consequences of file 7 being certain candidates. 1. Undyne: if it's undyne, chapter 7 is likely our confrontation with the Knight. I'd say this one is self explanatory. 2. One of the amalgamates: in this case it's likely that the "Noelle angel + Rudy death" is likely, because that suggests that Noelle opens a fountain in the graveyard, where the amalgamates are buried. 3. Gaster, because anything unexplained must be Gaster. Gaster chapter could be anything, but would indicate that most of the story would be wrapped up by chapter 6, and that 7-9 and 0 are the meta chapters.

I just find the idea very interesting. Maybe even very, very interesting. Thinking of all of the bosses being like chess pieces, especially with how we first got King and Queen, would be very cool to see. There's a good amount of evidence supporting it, too. I need to rewatch the video on it to refresh my mind of it, but it's my favorite theory of all time. Besides tea theory, which at this point everyone has accepted as fact, so I barely can even call that a theory. Can I get my A now? Bonus: I think that Ralsei might not be a darkner, or might be some special kind of darkner due to being from a fountain of pure darkness. The menu states that he's a dark-world being, not a darkner. so all we really know is that he *isn't* a lightnter. Which isn't that much to go by. But it's a nice way to think of new possibilites!

my favourite theory is Rouxls Kaard is Chapter 5's secret boss! his arc seems to be indicating ðat rouxls will be abandoned by everyone He clings to us, king, and queen for power, and all (don't want/can't have) him maybe in chapter 5 Rouxls will be discarded by everyone who could give him more power, so Rouxls will look for somebody who isn't a big bad boss/us, and find gaster, giving him a ShadowCrystal gaster does seem to be interested in people who have speech quirks >arguements against "wouldn't rouxls turn into stone?" if Chapter 5 is a literature based world, he probably wouldn't "rouxls wouldn't be powerful enough" during Acid Tunnel of loVe, rouxls attempts to beat us using a power of his, before getting turned into stone, we don't know how powerful it is alternatively rouxls could just use a mech like Spamton, given how rouxls uses K. Round and Thrash for his boss. "Rouxls doesn't have any txtsnds, doesn't talk in all caps, and has a face portrait" 1. Roulxs was going tochave txtsnds but Toby decided to scrap it for some reason, most people believe it was just because it sounded bad, but if it did i don't see why toby wouldn't just make a new one, i also don't see why toby would consider giving rouxls one at all if rouxls wasn't important i believe rouxls's txtsnd situation is like Noelle/Berdly txtsnd situation, Noelle and Berdly didn't have txtsnds in chapter 1 because ðey weren't important in chapter 1, and only in chapter did noelle/berdly get it, because ðey were important in chapter 2 i believe rouxls will get one in chapter 3-5 because rouxls will be important in chapter 5 2. we don't actually know why secret bosses talk in all caps and have no portraits, but i believe given how gaster talks in all caps and has no face portrait (debatable), secret bosses just learn it from him? "you don't have any evidence" you're right

While I think this theory is interesting, I believe Rouxls is too central a character to be made into an optional boss fight later on, especially because the running trends with secret bosses seem to be that they have been driven to madness and that they turn into an item after their fight, which would completely remove Rouxls from the story. I think it’s far more likely that he’ll be a Team Rocket-esque recurring boss fight and either remain a comic relief character or have some deeper importance later on.

@@RazzBerryJelly optional and unimportant secret bosses? do you play undertale and only do neutral, secret bosses are pretty essential to deltarune's lore, and make up a small but vocal minority of deltarune's gameplay, rouxls becoming a secret boss doesn't automatically make him unimportant my theory does state rouxls will have importance, i believe rouxls will be one of deltarune's secret bosses (probably it's final since i believe chapter 5 will be deltarune's final normal Chapter) to reveal gaster's lore, and a good chunk of it, quite a big role. and it also doesn't say rouxls won't be a miniboss anymore, i do believe rouxls will be one in chapters 3 and 4, because we know rouxls has been in chapters 1 and 2, and will be in Chapter 3, so we can assume he will be in 4 as well

Supporting this, Rouxls Kaard is the Rules Card. (obviously) They are pretty much useless, and if you for some reason don’t know the rules, most people would just look it up. So him being a discarded item lines up with the other secret bosses. However, a card no one uses is just a rehash of Jevil, and I feel that these similarities would make him less likely, even if he behaves completely differently.

I'm personally a big fan of the idea that Deltarune will end, with the end of the world. The idea is somewhat based off of JaruJaru's time loop theory, though I don't necessarily believe a time loop is needed for the impact this ending would have. Admittedly It's still fairly early so I will say there isn't much to it when. It comes to hard evidence. However what I really like about this theory is how it address the themes of Deltarune. We are all familiar with the lines said by Susie "Your Choices don't matter" and curiously the steam description of Deltarune labels it as having 1 ending, with a question mark added in chapter 2. The endings of chapter 1 & 2 also seem to play into this idea regardless of how one plays the game, the end result will be the same. Well if we are thinking about 1 ending that will happen regardless of actions, the end of the world seems fitting. It can conform to that idea regardless of your choices the same ending will come. When it comes to your actions' effects in the end, there is no change. However, that's not the point. Undertale said a lot, but one of the major ideas the game had is one choice's do matter, so it would seem kind of weird for Toby Fox to back pedal from that idea completely. Instead the point is regardless of the fate we have, we should all try to make the most out of our lives. We are all destined to ultimately die, yet we still have the free will to make many decisions in our life that may not change our destiny, but will change our experience. In essence the value is in the Journey, not the destination.

my theory is that our protagonists are not the three heroes of legend and that, in particular, ralsei is behind the first portal in the school. he's the prince of the dark, effectively the prince of squat. he rules over, basically, nothing and no one. and he's so, so happy to have friends. he's overjoyed to the point of being overwhelmingly attached to them. i think ralsei was so lonely that he turned to desperate measures: he knows about the prophecy, and i think he thought he could just open one little portal, meet the hero lightners, and then stop before anything else went bad. the prophecy says that all these horrible things will happen on earth and "only then" the heroes will appear. but the light world is totally fine. i think as we play, some consequences of that are going to lead to the prophecy *actually* coming true i don't know who the three heroes are going to be, but i like lancer as "prince from the dark" tbh. if you made me guess now i'd say either "it's still kris and susie but with lancer" (since kris is the only human we know of for that part of the prophecy) or "lancer, noelle, and the discarded vessel somehow" for a really out-there shot in the dark haha

oh i do have one other theory which is that a future chapter is going to take place in the dark world formed in rudy's hospital room, the boss is going to be represented by the angel toy, and noelle is going to break down because it looks like dess my only real evidence for this is that the hospital room has a double-wide door (which seems to be necessary for the dark room portal animation graphics, based on the computer lab getting a double door between the survey program and chapter 2), and also that "the boss looks like dess" and "dark world healing magic doesn't work on rudy's light world disease" would make me cry so toby fox will probably do it

i haven’t watched the full video yet but my theory is that kris is responsible for dess’s disappearance in some way and asgore took the blame for it hence why he got removed from the police force and the whole divorce thing. this would also explain why kris became distant with noelle because they would feel to guilty for not telling her anything my other theory is that kris is dead and we control their reanimated corpse. *(tw for suicide mention)* my reasoning for this is at the start of chapter 2 susie describes kris as “sleeping like a corpse all class” i might be paraphrasing here but i think that might be foreshadowing. ok so why/how is kris dead then? what we know about kris before the chapter 1 is that they were a loner, slept much, talked little, became very distant with their friends, their side of the room is more barren compared to asriel’s (perhaps they gave their stuff away as if they didn’t need it anymore) and if my theory of kris being responsible for dess’s disappearance in some way is true then that’d mean they’d be dealing with indescribable guilt that has just been bottling up inside them for who knows how long, to add onto this kris seems to carry a knife with them which is very concerning knowing kris’s mental state. so how did kris die? well i think that in the night before chapter 1 kris offed themselves, their human soul shattered and got replaced with us, this would also explain why kris walks so strangely and why they put the soul back, they NEED us for survival, when they take out their soul, they literally walk like a zombie as well. i think what gives this more validity is the parallels it would have with undertale, with chara saying “my ‘human soul’ my ‘determination’ they were not mine but YOURS” and the fact chara was reincarnated rlly makes you think. there’s more i could say but yeah that’s two of my theories i hope this was *somewhat* cohesive to follow LOL tl;dr - kris is responsible for the disappearance of dess and this led them to feel incredibly guilty and then proceeded to off themselves in the night before chap 1, this is when their soul shattered and got replaced with us

I can't imagine that the Mysterie Man we can meet (with the Fun Value) is Gaster. Gaster is probably the Smartest Guy in Undertale. So smart that he even managed to shader himself trough Time and Space and I just can't belief that a random child can find (with a bit of luck) a random door in a random location and enter the door but Gaster the smartest guy is to dumb to exit this room by himself. Also Gaster build a complex machine (wich probably takes years to build) to shader himself trough Time and Space and (again) a random child finds random door in random location and exit with this door Time and Space for a moment. That sounds stupid in my ears.

Well, if you're giving me homework.... My favorite theory is either that Kris is the knight or that Ralsei is an idealized version of what Kris wishes they were. To me these are kinda intertwined, but of course you can look at these separately. If I had to choose it's probably Kris knight since this seems much for fundamental to the story and is also much more controversial. If Kris is the knight then it's very likely that Ralsei is working for Kris and that their mysterious conversations together are them strategizing without the player's knowledge. Kris knight theory depends on Kris INTENTIONALLY hijacking the vessel creation progress and taking the player for themselves. 1: "Then why does Kris seem distressed by the player controlling them". Many answers are possible here. Maybe Kris didn't fully understand what they were signing up for when they hijacked the player. Maybe it's distressing simply because having no control is distressing even if giving up that control is intentional. Maybe Kris doesn't know when or if they'll get control back at all. 2: "How can Kris open the library dark world?" Kris being unable to open the library dark fountain is a very confused theory that seems to mostly forget that Kris ended chapter 1 by ripping out the soul and leaving the soul while they do something mysterious. Do you really think Kris ripped out the soul just to eat some pie? No. Kris ripped out the soul, went over to the library, and made the dark fountain. Just like Kris makes a dark fountain without the soul at the end of chapter 2. 2.1: "Do you really think Kris could break into the library while stumbling without the soul?" Yes. We never see Kris without the soul for long. It could be that after a while they regain full movement. Kris is also a known troublemaker with a history or sneaking around. Their history gets even darker with the implication of committing vandalism. I think it's very plausible that Kris knows how to break into the library. Especially since hometown has no crime, so nobody expects anything. 3: "Why would Kris even want the player to control them?" I don't have a definite answer to this. But that doesn't mean I can't think of possible answers. First off, whatever Kris is doing appears to be important. They will make a dark fountain at the end of chapter 2 even if the player does the weird route, implying that whatever Kris is planning is more important than Berdly's life and even worth risking their mother Toriel. My guess here is either of the following: 3.1: Whatever Gaster was planning to do with the player was bad enough that Kris needed to hijack the vessel creation progress to thwart Gaster's plans. Kris is doing what they can to keep Gaster away from the player and possibly find some way to get rid of the player/Gaster entirely. 3.2: Kris needs the player for something. Maybe to defeat Gaster or to bring back Dess. The player is an instrument for Kris's goals. 4: "Then what is Ralsei even and why is Ralsei working with Kris?" Kris created Ralsei and Ralsei's dark fountain before the start of the game or possibly right at the start of the game. Ralsei is the red horned headband. Kris created Ralsei and the castle town dark fountain to help Kris achieve their goals. The red horned headband represents Kris's insecurity about being a human. Thus, Ralsei is a manifestation of what Kris really wishes they were, a monster, a good younger brother, something their parents don't have to worry about. While this might bother Kris, this is also incredibly useful for Kris as Kris would know their fantasy better than anyone and would thus know how to convince Ralsei and can trust Ralsei to do what they say. Ralsei is the ultimate LACKEY. And wouldn't you know, LACKEY is a word highlighted in yellow for no apparent reason at one point in chapter 2 as if the word LACKEY is important.

This sounds like a very out there/weird theory on who The Knight is, but I think it's the Bravery Soul with their goal being to find the Patients Soul. Let me explain. But first a different theory getting debunked (this debunk was made by SpookyDood,) After seeing the Skys Forever Blue music video a lot of fans are saying that the girl in the video is Dess & that the video is hinting to what happened to her. Because of details in said video which are the girl falling into the code, the girl wearing a pink & white ribbon (which Noelle seems to have nostalgic memories for), and what looks to be a block of ice in the sky. But to be honest I don't really see it! First off ribbons are a very common thing in character design (I can name like 20 characters off the top of my head that wear a ribbon in their hair, heck I have a bunch of none Deltarune OCs that have them in their hair) and the girl in the video only has 1 ribbon while the twin ribbons are stated to be 2 different ribbons! And to be honest the twin ribbons seem to have more of a connection to Noelle then December. As she seems to be the most likely person who wore them, because she said there nostalgic not that they remind her of her sister. Second the falling "ice" in the video seems to be a more stylized version of the ground then ice. Ice & snow are very portent in Deltarune but it doesn't make much context in the song. Lastly the girl falling in the code. Here's the thing though is that Toby doesn't take real world game mechanics and puts them into the game without reason. For instance, we don't save/load/reset, instead with Frisk's power of Determination (with the help of us) are the ones saving, loading, and resetting. I doubt that the code would be used as a mechanic in the game without having this big spin on it. Because that would mean in universe that characters would have to ingoing that they are in a video game. though on the flip side one could interpreted this as her falling into the dark world instead & unless this is a big plot twist in the game. And if the code dialog is Dess she says she hears scratching, which sound does not likely exist inside the video game's code. Which seems like it's implying that Dess is stuck in some kind of physical space. This feels like it's a bunch of details taken out of context. Now back to my theory. Going to another flipside now with all the evidence pointing to why I think this song is actually True to Deltarune but were barking up the wrong tree. I think this song is about the Patients & Bravery Souls. 1st is that both the boy and girl in the music video are not only human but have the same armors as the 2 Souls Patients having a ribbon/bow (though it's not 100% correct because it's red instead of pink & white) and bravery wearing a bandana. 2nd since Patients & Bravery were the 2nd & 3rd humans to fall into the Undergrounds it's most likely that they fell down there together. I feel like it would make since that they fell down together (and not only that but be each other's love interests) because Cyan & Orange attacks are always seen together. (Most likely because the effects are a good yin and yang to each other) Also the name of the song Skys forever Blue! Is pretty much Patients' color! (Yes, I know Integrity is blue too but that is a much darker shade of blue then the one in the video) Applying some other theories here like the 4 Shadows theory, the character Seam being a mysterious character in general, & the Patients Soul being kind of strange if you think about it. Because all the shadows that are colored correspondingly to the lighteners except one of them. That being the orange shadow. This could be The Kight and since the Bravery Soul is orange this could be them. My theory on to why Bravery is making the dark fountains is because since Patients fell into the code long ago and has been lost ever since they have been looking for them for a very long time. I feel like both got separated in the Dark World after that supposed roaring happened. (At the beginning of the game the era you're in looks like the aftermath of one) And since the girl was theorized to have fallen in the code & the all the secret bosses know that they are in a video game...this is reaching but Patients might end up being a Super Boss. I feel like Patients is the most important Soul because it is the human with the most connection to Frisk (other than Chara) and doesn't have an arca type to attack themself to. (I might have one, but we'll get to that later) most of the human souls are connected to arca types like for instance Kindness had an apron as armor & a frying pan as a weapon. So, by this evidence you can tell they were a cook &/or like to cook. But Patients is strange not only do they have a similar weapon to Chara being both having Knives, but Patients doesn't seem like they have an arca type at first. There armor was a ribbon, but they carry a plastic knife around & there healing item in the Omega Flowey fight is a bandage? Also, Kris seems to have a lot in common with Patients because when Kris goes to the dark world their skin turns cyan and battle health bar reflects that. When shouldn't the color red be the case? Also, the only multicolored soul we say was a cyan & red colored one. So, Patients is a very strange Soul, and I feel like it's the most important Soul in the game next to the Determination Soul. So, what is Patients arca type I mention before well this kind of ties into the fairy tale bass for secret bosses' theory, but I think Patients is based off Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Let me explain Alice is known to be a character Isakki'd into Wonderland which is a strange world filled with strange folk. And the story lines up with my theory because Patients supposedly fell into the code/ends up into a Dark World & even more so in Undertale the 8 humans fell into a hole in the ground that led them to another world! Just like Alice. In the animated Disney movie (which is the most well-known version of the story) Alice in that film is wearing a cyan/blue dress and wears a ribbon in her hair just like Patients' Soul Color & the amor they wore. There exists a remaining game of the Fairy Tale called Alice Madness Returns and Alice in that game had a knife as her signature weapon. Just like Patients' weapon. And since Deltarune is based off a fever dream in 2011 that Toby Fox had guess what movie was out around that time period (ok a lot of movies) but Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland! Also, Seam's old owner could be Patients because a major character & companion Alice had in the fairy tale was the Treasure Cat. Which was a strange talking cat. Which is kind of like Seam. And HECK The Card Kingdom has this Alice in Wonderland with the whole kingdom being based off playing cards, chess, & other games, and even Queen is kind of like The Queen of Hearts. I know this theory is reaching a lot, and I don't think it's 100% true! I was reaching a lot with my evidence & I think Toby said that his music videos are unrelated to Ut/Dr and doesn't want people to connect them. But I just wanted to put a spin on a well talked about theory! What do you guys think of it?

Gonna share my theory here as well. Note that I am *very* deep into Deltarune, and in the effort of being brief I will be glossing over a few things, but I've tried to make this as palatable to newcomers as I could. Let's start with establishing some basic facts: --- **Dragon Blazers** At the end of Chapter 1, if you go to the hospital you can find Noelle talking to Rudy, Noelle's sick father, about an in-universe game called Dragon Blazers 3. Noelle is currently playing it, and is at a location called the Ice Palace. Rudy suggests to bring it next time she visits, because he's incredibly bored in his hospital bed. At the end of Chapter 2 you can go visit Rudy again, upon which you will see him and Noelle playing Dragon Blazers 3. They're currently fighting a boss called the Silver Drake. What's interesting is that if you do the Weird Route, Rudy will specify that the Silver Drake is in the Ice Palace. This is an important detail, keep it in mind. If you're on a normal route and do this, Rudy will suggest to use Fireshock on the Silver Drake. But if you're on a Weird Route, Noelle will suggest to use Iceshock, which is her magic spell in the Dark World. Rudy will shut this down, saying using Iceshock on the Ice Palace boss is ridiculous. (He's actually wrong, as on the normal route Noelle will try Fireshock as per Rudy's suggestion, and the boss will reflect it right back.) --- **The Spamton Sweepstakes** The Spamton Sweepstakes was an event that took place on one of Deltarune's anniversaries. Many, many bits of information about the lore were dropped in order to incentivize people to donate to charity. The most important tidbit for this theory is found on a website called /d_a_m_n_y_o_u_t_e_n_n_a/. It contains some dialogue from Spamton about some unknown person (possibly someone named Tenna, whom we haven't met yet) saying that he'll make everyone pay [5 easy payments of $9.99] and stating that "everything is his fault." The dialogue itself isn't actually important. What's important is the crossed out TV (this is the Dreemurr TV by the way, which is going to be a central element in Chapter 3) at the top of the page. It's actually a hyperlink you can click. Clicking it takes you to a page full of static with some text from an unknown person (also possibly Tenna, maybe, we don't know) and two more hyperlinks. Clicking the top one takes you to an ocean, whereupon scrolling up you will be met with some glacier-like structure, and an entrance of sorts. You can click on the entrance, which will take you to a blog post by Noelle about the Ice Palace in Dragon Blazers. There's a maze in the Ice Palace, and if you don't have a character that can guide you through it, you'll be softlocked. However, little kid Noelle was *very* stubborn, and kept going in random directions without the character until she found a strange door that doesn't appear anywhere else. Since then she can get to the door consistently, but she doesn't know how she does it. --- **Miscellaneous** Kris made sure to turn on the TV before opening a Dark Fountain at the end of Chapter 2. This signifies that the TV will absolutely play a role in Chapter 3. Dragon Blazers has been shown to be an in-universe parallel to Deltarune. Susie says in Chapter 2 that in Dragon Blazers 2, your sister can get cursed, lowering her stats by a lot. This may reference the fact that Susie and Ralsei split off from you in the middle of Chapter 2, leaving you with Noelle, who has far lower physical damage potential than either of them. Noelle also states that the Dark World is quite similar to Dragon Blazers in its combat and puzzles. One of Noelle's blog posts revealed in the Sweepstakes mentions that the Dragon Blazers website (in-universe) was updated with several new links. She counted about 26. What's interesting is this number was different during the Sweepstakes depending on how many pages had been found by the community so far, and we found 26 in total. This is another link between Deltarune and Dragon Blazers. Seam mentions at the end of Chapter 2 if you have both Shadow Crystals that in order to get the next one, you'll need the Shadow Mantle to take down a powerful adversary. Unfortunately, it seems someone stole it from them. Seam doesn't believe we can win without it, showing that it's going to be very important. --- **The Actual Theory** The Ice Palace and the Silver Drake are near-guaranteed to appear in Chapter 3 as major story beats. It's possible that the Silver Drake will also be the secret boss, as silver is very reflective, so much so that it's typically used in mirrors. Mirrors reflect photons, and shadows are an absence of photons, so the Shadow Mantle and perhaps the one wearing it would not be reflected. Perhaps seeing yourself in the reflection of the Silver Drake is dangerous, I'm not sure. Noelle will also definitely appear in some fashion. If you get her to the maze, she would be able to lead you to the secret door, possibly presenting an alternate path like the Weird Route. It's likely that you would need to sequence break the same way the Weird Route is a sequence break, perhaps in order to skip finding the character that can guide you to the normal exit. Toriel in Undertale was proficient in fire magic. As magic doesn't seem to exist in Deltarune (Toriel uses a normal stove instead of fire magic to cook as she does in UT, for example) she would likely gain it in the Dark World, where monsters get magic. As Rudy mentions Fireshock in the encounter with the Silver Drake in Chapter 2, we may be able to use Toriel as a party member at some point and get her to the Silver Drake. This would also serve as an excellent way to test how much the player knows about elements. Elements are as of yet essentially unused, with the only exception being the armors "Frayed Bowtie" and "Mannequin" providing slight defense buffs against Spamton NEO's as well as Tasque Manager's projectiles. However, data for it exists in the code. Spamton also did a Q&A during the Sweepstakes, where he revealed some elemental pairings. In addition, there's an item called the Sky Mantle in the code, which is also unused, but it provides resistance against Elec and Holy attacks, elements that are as of yet unused. Perhaps this is the Shadow Mantle we needed? --- Yes, I promise, this was the brief version. This has consumed me for the past weekend, the actual theory in its full length is about 2400 words. There is so much to talk about regarding Dragon Blazers, you have no idea.

You should make a video in this. It’s common knowledge that Dragon Blazers and Deltarune are linked, but how specifically they are is a question. I didn’t read the entire thing, but a video might be a good way to condense it. If this isn’t your own, who made it? I’m curious.

Very interesting video series! I already knew most of the stuff thats in this one but im looking forward to other parts anyway! One thing i whould like to add is that i believe seam says that shadow crystals sorta just materialize in the prescences of powerfull darkners. This whould mean that the reason the secret bosses have them moght not be entirly gaster related but is just because there the strongest darkners in their respective worlds (spamton is not that strong on his own so he might have found his inside the anchient machine). This also somewhat lowers the chanche ralsei has one IMO

My big theory is that the events of Deltarune directly go into undertale. I believe something big happens at the end of Deltarune, whether the gang loses to the roaring titans, or can't seal the fountains, or do all of that anyway, but it's too late. I think that universe is done for, and somehow it's reset in some way. Bunch of names I could throw out, gaster, sans, whatever. That parts not important. But I really feel that it's a JoJo's part 6 situation. Where the universe is reset and built up again using the same building blocks
@undergroundmonorail
@undergroundmonorail 11 месяцев назад
yeah i definitely think that deltarune takes place "before" undertale in some sense, though it's tough to say with stuff like this that they take place literally "before" or "after" each other what with timeline stuff. my personal theory is that while many of the deltarune characters mirror undertale characters, that's literally the same sans. in undertale, if you go to sans' secret lab, you can find a photo of *three* people with the phrase "don't forget" written on it. that's a pretty normal thing to write on a photo but it's also deltarune's arc words

@@undergroundmonorail totally. Didn't want to add more to my theory but sans is *definitely* the same guy. Something about that machine in his lab, I'm sure we'll see it in Deltarune at some point. If not that, we'll see sans play a much bigger role in the future

While there are things that point to this being directly tied to Undertale in some way, I personally don’t believe the game will have such a downer ending. I fully believe that the game will subvert the “choices don’t matter” statement, similar to how Undertale subverted “kill or be killed” and having an ending where the world ends and is reformed into an arguably much bleaker world wouldn’t allow for that subversion.

Since we're doin' theories I'll share a couple I've thought up. First, I think Undertale is the unfinished game on the computer on Asriel's side of the room. I mean, it's obvious that it references Undertale, but I'm choosing to take it more literally. Not to say Undertale was FAKE the whole time, but since Deltarune is explicitly a different universe, who's to say Kris and Asriel didn't think it up as a game and start working on it in this world? Nothing's off the table, and that makes me want to go through Undertale and try and re-contextualize it in the light of it being something that Kris and Asriel worked on together, and see what that could mean for their relationship. Maybe some parts of the game were made by one or the other alone, for example. The other one isn't a theory, I'm just putting forth some stuff about Ralsei since it was a longer topic in this vid- about what he might be and what he might be p l o t t i n g. Firstly- he's never mentioned to be a darkner, not by himself or by King, who calls the party collectively "lightners". We have the fact that he can move between dark worlds by himself, and also that he can withstand the effects that Lancer and Rouxls show off that happens when moving between dark worlds. These are both uncharacteristic of a darkner, as they're all able to be linked to something inanimate in the real world. Ralsei's, however, isn't obvious, because we haven't seen the inside of the closet yet, unless you count the papers initially lining the floor. So, is Ralsei a darkner who's just stronger than other darkners? Is he a lightner who doesn't often leave the dark world? A secret third thing? Is the dark fountain in the closet different from others? It's able to support darkners from other worlds after all. So many QUESTIONS That's about it, see ya

Also, fun fact BONUS THEORY! Really hope you're reading this one. But... Ralsei, Spamton, Seam, and Jevil, aren't the only darkners that appear to be meta-aware/aware of the player/aware that they're in a video game. It kind of appears like EVERY darkner knows this. The basic puzzle tutorial guy just casually talks to the player about Kris, and I'm pretty sure that he isn't the only example.

my only wish is that gaster's face is never revealed directly in the game. him never appearing through 7+ chapters would be perfect for his 'mystery man' persona. the 'man speaking in hands' and the font name or even the garbage noise can be red herrings for him just to be a disembodied voice speaking through no one. it would be cool i think, and a toby-like move to throw the mystery man sprite under the rug after teasing it as gaster's identity for so long

My Government Mandated Homework Theory™️ is that the great door is the locked door between the closet and the unused classroom, and it is locked because Ralsei locked it. This suggests that darkners can effect the light world, and that a lightener can move in a dark world and still move in the light world.
@DyxoXinoro
@DyxoXinoro 11 месяцев назад
This is a good start to the theory, but I do wonder if there's more to it than that. Ralsei being able to lock it makes sense, its his door (at least in the Dark World), and the light and dark worlds being able to affect each other mutually is reflected in Berdly's responses to our actions in Ch2. But I wonder what else that theory implies.
