Lol, when I did Queen’s voice, I made her sound like GLADoS, I wanted to give her a voice that sounded similar to Kanaya from Homestuck because of the same typing quirk, and the closest thing I came up with was that, which made sense to me because Queen also seems somewhat robotic, lol

i agree, it seems that a lot of the time people forget that kris is around 14-16 years old and an enby

@@cannibunnii2330 yeah it’s really frustrating how soooo many people headcannon them with a voice that is male even tho Kris is non-binary… I usually try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but when a concerning amount of the fandom ““headcannons”” kris as a boy despite the fact that they are clearly meant to be non-binary in canon, it starts to just feel like they’re just basing their perceptions of them entirely off of their masc-leaning name. Personally, I’d imagine them to sound like an emo version of Raine from the owl house, since Raine is already very soft-spoken and incredibly androgynous. It isn’t a perfect example, but Avi is the only person close to what I imagine in my head for Kris that I could find in mainstream media. I feel sad that there aren’t more enby cartoon voice actors because representation is so important + it gives us more voice actors to choose from, but at least progress is being made in some cartoons.

I've chosen Johnny Yong Bosch for Kris because I imagined them having the "Anime protagonist" voice. Kris having a deeper Masc-leaning voice does not make them any less nonbinary.

@@frankie3466 ah, I understand where you are coming from, but never tried to claim or imply that being non-binary is a third gender, though. If we wanna get into the definition, non-binary can mean lotsss of different things, and numerous different genders fall underneath the non-binary umbrella, such as agender, Demi girl, demiboy, bigender, gender fluid, pangender, and many more. I guess what I was trying to say earlier is that my personal gripe isn’t whether or not the voice is masculine or feminine or androgynous or somewhere in between (since non-binary people have all sorts of varieties of voices, so all of these portrayals can be valid), it’s about the fact that non-binary people rarely get representation in media, but when there is a non-binary character they might not even get the chance be voiced by an actual non-binary person, which means that non-binary actors rarely get their chance to shine, even though they rightfully deserve it. Forgive me if I’m incorrect, but from what the the wiki about them says, Johnny Yong Bosh isn’t non-binary and mostly voices just male characters, and while I do respect their work as an actor, it just feels very sad to me that most people who make voice headcannons for Kris pick someone who doesn’t even identify as non-binary (again please forgive me if my info about them is incorrect, if Johnny is non-binary then the choice for them as a voice for Kris would be awesome rep for a non-binary person with a masc-sounding voice) I feel bad for misjudging you earlier, so I just wanna apologize because my original reply definitely came across a lot more antagonistic than I originally intended, because now I can tell that you support non-binary people since after I made the original reply, i looked at other comments you’ve made and you’ve been respecting their pronouns very well which is great!! And based on the fact that you respect their pronouns i probably just misunderstood your intentions and assumed the worst. My frustrations with the bad side of the fanbase have gotten me to become more skeptical and wary of the rest of the fanbase even if they are kind, and that made me act needlessly rude towards you, so I’m really sorry about how I reacted.

Yes well Kris is canonically nonbinary, and strictly uses They/Them pronouns. Not sure if you already knew but I thought I'd still set a reminder for other people bc Toby confirmed this on his anniversary livestream👍

@@a7n66 frisk in my opinion looks pretty neutral, because they are a child. Kris on the other hand is a teenager so it is easier to guess their gender, since all the identity stuff comes to you when you are a teen. I know it's not morally correct to talk about nb people's genders, but they are probably a biological male, since all his female classmates have developed the chest area
