Deluxe Balcony on the Sky Princess - Room Tour 

Well said - any day on a cruise ship is better than a day at work 😍

Seeing the balcony and water-I'm homesick for a cruise. I have sailed on princess once and loved it.

Great video of your cabin. No plug is a GAME CHANGER for those of us who sleep with CPAP breathing machines. You have to have a U.S. electrical outlet bedside or I won't cruise on your ship!!! It could be a Royal Suite, but no outlets, no way I can stay in a room and stop breathing at night! I'm still waiting for your next cruise on the new Celebrity Edge class of ships!

Your cabin looks great. I just got off the Sapphire Princess, and was plagued with the following problems : 1. The TV was constantly going blank or "blue screen". Sometimes all night. 2. I am convinced that the internet was dial up. Grinding slow, at times. 3. The room A/C was not working properly and at night the room became hot and humid. I am convinced that they turned off the A/C at midnight and back on at 4:00 AM. These problems were reported many times, but never fixed. The staff were wonderful and tried their best to fix things but to no avail. Finally, a generous resolution was reached that made me happy and restored my faith in Princess. I have 77 cruises with Princess, so you know I like them. This ship goes for a badly needed renovation next July. Thankfully.

I’m glad you noticed that there are no outlets by the bed. I usually need to bring an extension cord because of my CPAP. I wish when they redo these ships they put more outlets. Many are now using this equipment, and need to plug it in. I did enjoy the calmness of the cabin. And you’re right it looks homey and comfy. As always, thanks!

Wonderful room, it has a comfortable feel. Love the natural light, and the ability to step outside and be a part of the environment. Enjoy.

Great review, Don. I like the fact that you spoke about the architectural features and color palette of the room. It does promote relaxation. I walk the decks and stairwells just to enjoy the artwork on the Royal class ships - that is part of the Princess experience for me. TFS, and enjoy your cruise!

Allot of folks don't know that there is a line cloths rack for wet cloths on the shower. It spools out of one side and attaches to the other. Great for wet trunks.

I love the closet space on the Princess ships, I always pack with the hanger on the cloth, so when luggage gets to our room we are unpacked in ten minutes, love Princess!

Don, you can swap your elite mini bar - so you could get coke or Diet Coke for the liquor if you don’t want the liquor (so you don’t have to buy your own!), or you can swap liquor for other liquor (so if you prefer all vodka, or example, they will do that). You can also swap the soft drinks only. You can also swap the entire setup for 2 coffee “card” packages or a bottle of wine. You just call room service and they are more than happy to change it.

With two exceptions, I have exclusively traveled with Royal Caribbean. I’ve never been on a Princess Cruise but the way you talk them up, I’m considering trying them out now. 🤔

Bed looks great but maybe seems a bit lonely when in it. Like the design of balcony with high enough dividers for privacy. Princess cruises have been my favorite.

It’s early 2023 and we just completed a two week cruise on Sky Princess. We had a mini-suite room on deck 16, Lido, and loved it. The mini-suite has a full size hide-a-bed sofa, a bigger desk, and a decent sized tub in the bathroom. Closet space is the same, bed and bed area is the same, and the balcony is the same. The ship is well taken care of and the staff are responsive to any issues you raise. We had a couple days of 20+ mph winds. Some slight movement could be felt but did not interfere. We would do it all again in a heartbeat!

I see shower curtains, so I'm guessing no wrap around glass or fiberglass shower enclosure, and like a previous comment what about legroom in the toilet area. One reason to book a mini suite, you get a tub that offers way more elbow room without getting tangled up in the curtain and water leaking onto the floor.

Have you ever been on a cruise ship in a major storm? This probably sounds crazy, but the videos of it always make it look kinda mesmerizing watching the waves wash over the windows.

I've watched Don's video so much .my girlfriend thinks there's something going on . I keep telling her it's addictive.

About 14 days and I’m on the Sky Princess!

I was curious to see it leave port.. the part I loved about Regal was the outrigger bar area with the covered space and furniture to sit on, and tables to eat your breakfast at. In this ship it appears the aft is the same as the crown princess, with the aft pool and the c shape in the outrigger bar area, thus losing the extended seating area of the royal and regal. As well, it looked like the retread pool and sanctuary area was the same as crown princess rather than the other royal class ships, at least from the view I had in port.

This is a fantastic tour, and gives a really good insight to someone actually ‘using’ the room, rather than it being fully presented immediately after check in. Question from my side - are the solo rates on this ship double fare, or more reasonable?

My friends who are Elite cruisers on Princess and get the mini bar set up each cruise as a perk, always ask to switch it out for something of their liking - usually beer and/or diet cokes.

I love Princess and have sailed on Majestic Princess which looks almost identical, at least from the exterior. You had nothing hanging in your closet, was suitcase overworked on this cruise? I can't wait to unpack on the first day because that means my cruise has really commenced. Looking forward to the rest of this series.

Is the shower the same size as balcony showers on the Emerald? It looks pretty large in your video. My husband is a large man and doesn’t like the small showers. So we usually get a Mini Suite.

Are the Sky Princess balconies a little bigger on the Caribe deck like most other Princess ships? We always get Caribe because the balconies are a bit bigger than Baja or Dolphin.

Glad you got the new beds. The Regal princess had terrible beds. I'm still not liking Princess. They should have added plugs by bed on this new ship

This room doesn’t seem any different than a balcony on Carnival. Will you sail on the Mardi Gras ? It seems to have a lot of improvements over other balconies. I would love to see you do a review of it.

Is there shampoo/ body wash dispensers in the shower? Is the fan on a separate switch? Couldn't hear it!

Were those reading lights in the ceiling? I recently got off Holland and loved their gooseneck reading lights. Noticed you didn’t unpack. Wondering why, with all that space.

Looks very nice and comfortable. I am not a fan to beige. I would prefer calming blue. (everyone has colors they prefer) Definatly not a fan of bright colors in my room! But all in all it looks really nice.

I'm a big fan of the Deluxe Balcony cabin on Princess. It's much less expensive than the Mini Suite, and only a little more than a regular Balcony cabin.

How is the wifi? On the last Princess ship you said that it was crap. We are going on the Sky Princess in Feb. and we are not sure if we will get the internet package. Waiting to hear from you.

I have a scooter. On the Celebrity Eclipse, I had plenty of room to put it inside a non-accessible room. I couldn't do it on the Sky Princess. I think this room is very small.

Can the light beside the bed be unplugged? No plug beside the bed is a no go for someone with sleep apnea that uses a CPAP.

Do you think it is worth an extra $600 for the deluxe balcony versus a standard balcony cabin? Other than a small couch there does not seem to be much difference.
