Did you investigate if the distorted sound problem is with your unit...?? I read here on RU-vid that a guy returned two units due to problems with the sound, because it is assumed that the only thing that differentiates these 2 units is the tempo.
That ringing noise / artifacts happened to 550-TT because You went above 550ms limit and overclocked the chip. This is quite unique thing cause You can go only 550 ms with a knob but You can go up to 1100 ms via tap tempo making chip overclocked and lofi. 550 soinds better to me. 1100 is too brith, almost like it's digital.
I eventually settled on the UA Starlight, which I think sounds more like a big box DMM than the current Memory Man line. I have video coming soon comparing it to the 1100-TT.
Yeah, it was a real problem. Admittedly, the 1100-T does not sound as good in general. To the point that I may send it to EHX to have them take a look. Who knows... chasing the tone of those big box DMMs can be a bear. Good luck!
