Jimmy's such a rhythmic guitarist, you can feel the groove in his playing as well as a nice steady pulse that's in time

Man, you can't get a tighter band than this. They set metronome's to Raymond's drumming.

David McGraw has my favorite quality in a drummer: he looks like he's having the time of his life when he plays, like Ringo or the percussion line in Santana. That, and he's always right in the pocket.

These guys got it goin on. Buds, having fun, jamming. THIS is the meaning of life right here peeps.

A groove (normally backline instruments) can be on the beat, eg: 'Another one bites the dust'. It can also be on the off-beat eg: the chorus in 'Oh what a night'. Pocket (sub genre of Groove) requires a solid back beat with consistent accents on the off-beat . Like the man said, anything uptempo by James Brown. A drummer _playing In the pocket_ allows the rest of the band to swing against and across the beat.

I must be at the crossroads of organ funk, guitar jazz & percussion dreams. Cheer's!
