I think after View, Don't Call Me is the next biggest change in the sound of SHINee music, that people witnessed. And it was a change that was welcomed to play in the role of the evolution of SHINee sound. I can't really explain it but the way I see it, 2008's SHINee World (R&B) - 2012's Sherlock ( Powerful electro dancepop) - 2015's Odd (House) - 2021's DCM (hip-hop) these four albums for me I think are very important for setting the SHINee sound for the albums that followed it. I see these albums as milestones for defining the sound of Shinee in that era. So thank you Chikk, Dem Jointz, Kenzie and all the other professional for contributing to it 🙏

Don't Call Me is so SHINee I'm surprised it was written as a one-size-fit-all any-idol-will-do song for SM. Perhaps it's just SHINee, throw anything at them, the best thing or the worse thing, they make it their own and they make it shine!

There is more of us missing his music 🥰🎧. But it's good that he is taking time to take care of himself. Jinki has had to carry a lot around with him over these years and always seemed like the type who takes care of others but never of himself. So for all the downsides of the hiatus I'm happier that he is finally doing that 🤗

Excellent dialog on my favorite KPOP band SHINee and one of their best songs, yay! I've recently come across talks on SM's songwriting camp processes and this fabulous channel dispels a myth... that idols are just functionaries delivering "remote control lab grown songs by foreign technicians who don't care much about the singers they write for". That is maybe true in some cases but this channel showed me how Adrian Mckinnon (Taemin's Black Rose songwriter) respected SHINee members even before they met. One thing for sure: with KPOP going global and AI apocalypse and all, lyrical authenticity matters now more than ever. Yeah AI is writing more human lyrics than some humans, but AI is not going to replace our real deal songwriters here any time soon! Thank you Emma for being you!
