In memory of June.
Much of the work has been done on the Dementia Den Model Railway. They still have street lights and some fencing to add as well as paint a couple of buildings but it's getting there.

This has been an amazing adventure for the group and I am so proud of them. When they saw it on Tuesday morning with the lights and sounds working, and the screens up, they were so emotional and I think they realised what they had achieved. Michael, you worked so hard to make sure that the lights etc were finished on Monday, thank you. There were many happy faces in the room 😊

Mandy the group and the volunteers have done such a great job and what an original set of activities to do. It is only because of your willingness to try something new and take risks that this group can flourish. I wonder how many other groups have their attendees drilling holes!

Haven't they heard of adding the odd decorated Christmas tree? Christmas music should be playing now, because Christmas is only a few days away. I can't stand emotional music like this, it's too painful a reminder of my Dad committing suicide. Not something I wish to be reminded of before Christmas.

Sorry to hear about your dad Kelly. This group made the decisions on the railway. They may well add a Christmas tree but they only meet once a week and time is a factor. They have been following their own plan that stated months ago when Christmas was not a consideration. Fitting in a cricket pitch, a pub, farm and various other local reminders was their priority.

I’m sorry about you dad too Kelly. This group lives with dementia at various stages and they designed it using their recollections and memories. It is very special to them, next year we will have a Christmas tree outside the pub 😊
