The lyrics are fantastic and perfectly capture what addiction is like for anyone who has experienced. You think you are in control until you're not.

The fact that she's able to place her self back in a heart breaking situation for a musical video involving probably one of the worst moments of her life, being back in a hospital bed with tubs in her neck cleaning her blood as her body/face looks white and half way dead is beyond guts or bravery. That got to me seeing her like that :( I'm so glad she survived

I’m in an abusive relationship and it’s almost like being addicted to drugs, you don’t know why you keep going back and a lot of the times I’ve came close to death. To say the least, Demi has touched so many lives with sharing her story 💜

This made me ball my eyes out. I just lost my boyfriend of 8 years to an overdose, I found him dead on our couch 2.12.22 two days before Valentine’s Day. In a weird way, this entire album feels like her 'debut' album. She has always been honest and open; but all these songs feel like one cohesive story, with no 'hit' or 'commercial single' in mind. Just a narrative from track 1-19, like albums used to be. I applaud her for telling this story.

Came out a year ago, and I understand this applies to addiction in all forms, but I took it more in the sense of depression. I have chronic depression, stress, and anxiety, and this song perfectly describes how I feel when I relapse too. And it almost sent me to my grave a few months ago. I hope anyone who is an addict, or just suffers from mental health disorders, gets help and knows that you're not alone. There is always someone out there like you, and if you cant believe that, just believe in whatever God or higher power to give you strength because you CAN make it out. Praying for you all who can relate 🫶🏼❤️

I had a similar experience and I can't tell you how lucky I was to meet her after that happened to me. I'm internally grateful that she helped me more than she'll ever know.

i dont think anyone realizing how important artists speaking out about addiction first hand is. I am a heroin addict and she just put my thought process into words before relapsing. Thank you Demi. I had so many friends die from overdoses and I chose not to get involved with drugs. God is good. He has protected her. She has a gift. She’s gods given!

I’m an adult child of 2 addicts/alcoholics and Demi is the first celebrity I’ve seen be even a little honest and open about her experiences as both an addict/alcoholic and a child of the same pattern. There’s probably still a lot of things she held back about her situation but she has no idea how validating it is for children who’ve grown up in similar situations 🥺

Wow. As someone who struggles heavily with mental illness, I cant even imagine the emotional journey it was to recreate these scenes. This was powerful and vulnerable all at the same time.

That moment when you’re lying on a hospital bed singing/lipsyncing to the lyrics about your overdose and you can only sob... but you keep recording. And you keep it in the final cut. 💔 I have a whole new level of respect for Demi after watching her doc and this music video.

I love the way demi was so vulnerable enough to make this video. I have been listening to her from the beginning. She is definitely a strong person. I watched the little dancing with the devil episodes. I noticed not only did she put her story out in a way that others could not imagine, she was wearing the same outfits as the in the days leading to her overdose. I absolutely love Demi. In her song sober she says 'I'm sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again. I wanna be a role model, but I'm only human.' And the thing is she still is. She didn't have to open up and tell this story of her overdose. But she did. And it didn't make her fall, it made her open up and be stronger than she was before. I hope she continues to climb higher and be a voice everybody can listen to!!

I showed my father "dancing with the devil" and "Anyone." He has been battling alcolohilism since he was a kid, and was addicted to meth for over 30 years. I haven't seen a grown man relate to a song, and sob so hard in my life. Demi has been someone I've idolized since I was a kid. And she's helped my dad not feel alone. Life is hard, as well as addiction and I hope my dad can push through as well as demi has. Thank you demi for helping my dad find a friend❤

Absolutely gut-wrenching. The duffle bag, the trash who SA her and left her for dead, the way her team found her unresponsive, nearly dying in that hospital bed. But she survived and is doing so much to help remove the stigma around addiction. I’m so glad she’s still here to tell her story.

So Demi was my first exposure to someone famous (or really anyone, famous or no) who self-harmed like me, I read about it in some teen magazine and was initially pissed off because it kinds triggered me. But at the end of the day, it was a huge weight off my shoulders that I wasn't a freak, I wasn't the only one that reacted to pain this way. I felt like a monster. You hear about alcoholism and drug addiction, but not so much about self-harm. I was glad that my coping skill, while unhealthy, wasn't freakish. Granted I started cutting at like 8-9 which WAS weird but still.

When I was 22 I drank a gallon of wine and then took two bottles of pills. My OD was intentionally an attempt to die. I woke up days later in the ICU on a ventilator and they were surprised I wasn’t brain dead. This shit is real, and it’s so important to see celebrities like her talking about it without sugarcoating or otherwise ignoring the dramatic truth behind mental illness.

The fact that she made her self look like 2018 Demi and how she re-created what happen took a lot of confidence and balls, she is so strong.

I admire Demi so much.. we are so alike... she is a perfect example that good girls are not exempt to addiction.. and that we do recover.. and even if we fall we get up and start over..
