that’s actually kinda why i like demi’s chest voice more than ari’s. when she hits her high notes, there’s so much emotion in them almost every single time, and it gives her notes a lot of meaning. not to mention, her power is INSANE. some would even say her voice compares to that of jennifer hudson’s, and i’m so here for it. with ariana, high notes just come so easy for her. although technically, her voice is better than demi’s, demi kinda leaves behind being proper and controlled, and uses her talent to instead portray LOADS of emotion.
I mean technically Demi is a bit better but Ariana is also really talented and have some stuffs that Demi dosen't have/control as much (runs,whistles etc ..) so both are great !

Demi is more technically superior as a vocalist. She’s got some support lower than G3 and higher than C5 AND a (sort of) supported head voice. Not to mention far better placement throughout her entire voice (Ariana tends to struggle with lots of high larynx and tension). That said, neither are still great in that aspect. Ariana has some killer runs that are usually pretty accurate, but Demi has far more power, soul, and emotion. For me, Demi wins, but I can definitely see how someone would prefer Ariana.
@@blogistuff4383 Definitely! Ariana actually starts raising her larynx dangerously at C5/C#5. It's crazy early for how high of a soprano she is, but maybe it's a stylistic choice.

Ariana is better on supprting lows. Mid- Demi, power. High notes- Ariana, ease. Head voice- Ariana even tho demi use it more often hut i perfer Arianas Falssetoes - Ariana ofc Whistles- Ariana It based on my opinion and live vocals. Demi will always be my fave (and is better technically when it comes to her belting) but artistically Ariana has it in the bag. She has a specific sound. Demi's always changing so it's hard for me to grasp what her sound is now.

also a thing about demi is that she perfects her voice on the studio and a lot of her notes she can’t hit live, such as her Bb5, she can’t sustain like the original. ariana keeps her songs where she can be able to hit them live or even better.

Demi and Ari has both good low notes but Demi takes the D3 Both have great upper belts but Ari won from G#5 to Bb5 Ariana is more superior when it comes to falsettos so Ari won except F5-G#5 Over all its a tie Ari has the tone and the range while demi has the power!!

G#5, F5, F#5, Bb5, B5 belts go to ariana. arianas technique is better, demis larynx SHOOTS UP TO THE SKY WHEN SHE BELTS HIGH. not saying arianas technique is good, because she has larynx and other problems too. you cant really hear arianas strain as you can hear demis. they are both still young and have lots of room to grow vocally. they are both my fav artists i love them sm. also hv and fasletto goes to ariana. demi is terrible at high falsetto. at least live anyway. she has the song with the C6 and she has only hit it twice i think, the other times she cracked or dodged it. ariana hits high falsetto like literally almost every performance. her last performance of god is a woman she hit the sustained Eb6 and het last performance of dangerous woman she hit the B5, D6, and E6. belting and falsetto/whistles go to ariana. no one can fight me w the whistles. i mean come on. demi does have a whistle register obviously. she tried to hit the Eb7 from her song “wildfire” but she went flat and hit a C#7 which was barely audible bc she moved the mic away from her mouth so if she failed we wouldnt be able to hear it. ariana hit the C7 live (the F6’s before it were lipped) and it was a long ass melisma. she has hit the E7 in studio. she still hits 6th and 7th octave to this day. she hit two G#6’s in her dangerous woman diaries she just released. like a month ago or sum she posted on her insta story and hit a A6. she hit an F7 this year too. she has also hit a G#7 (polyphonic but sustained) in 2016. she has also hit a Bb7 a few years ago. i love demi and i hope she recovers soon and works on using better technique when hitting highnotes as well as ariana.
This is my take on it, Ariana Grande is a fantastic singer and she can blow the roof off but Demi Lovato takes it to a whole other level. Yes she has her share of regular pop size but she has some songs that go way beyond the normal size you expect for a pop singer. And to me she is the best out of all of them but that’s my opinion. And she sounds the same or better live that she sounds on record.

The upper belts of Demi is a bit of question. Most of the times, she dodges those high notes, like the G5 in Stone Cold. Ariana slays all those belts most of the times.
