Both are amazing artists. I found Demi's version too strong (the way she delivered the song and showed her emotions) while in Morisette's, you can feel it more in her voice and the way she sang it. I prefer Morisette's version. She showed some class.
and the seamless transitions between forte and piano. I wished she attempted the sustained G#5, but the one recent sustained Mori had (In her live performance of Focus)sounded really rough. She could've mixed it better. :(

Well, Mori does sing 22 songs each concert? 47 concerts only in US? How many tours she had? Demi sing stone cold every concert, and now she sing this with a lot of consistency and higher range. Do you think Mori will be the same doing that hard schedule? In my opnion, even Demi doing that schedule sound better than Mori. Emotion, vibrato, riffs, runs. Demi sang Stone Cold like 100 times, obviously she wont be singing the same way in each one. Anyway, whoever thinks Mori had a better performance don't get some technical ways. The only person that can match Demi in Stone Cold in Amber Riley. She holds the G#5, but lacks some emotion.

I love Demi but I'm gonna state the obvious. Looked to me like Demi had a hard time singing her own song and Morissette sang it effortlessly. It looked like Morissette was the original interpreter and Demi covered it. I mean Morissette's notes were so on point. That's weird. Anyway that's what I felt.

Im a fan of both. But for me, demi delivers the message of the song with soul and a powerful rendition, she knows the depth and emotions of the song better. Mori on the other side, hits every note with ease and clarity, her rendition is brighter and sets the level of notes to another level. So there is no need to compare them both and drag anyone of them down. They delivered the song with their own rendition and own style.
They say there are 5 stages you'll experience when you brake up with someone you love... Demi sang it like she's in stage 3 angry and bitter while mori sang it like she's in the last stages acceptance and moving on....
you can automatically tell the difference between both artist (they are equally amazing) however, i feel that demi is struggling with the notes compared to morissette, she feels very relaxed, while demi displays that she is very tense when reaching those higher notes.
Let's just say that demi sang it with full of emotions but her voicr cracked and morissette sang it with a little emotion and the voice was spot on so long story short she managed to balance both emotions and voice at the same time..sometimes emotion is not just enough to say you're a better singer

i just cant handle demi's horrible vibrato. no matter which performance of stone cold she sounds like its a struggle and just about every belt is strained. morissette is so open and free sounding with lots of resonance.
Actually demi is struggling with vocal supports, that is why her vibrato is shaking. But she's a veru good singer, its just that this is one of her worst performances due to being sick.
