The buildup was dramatic as hell, the soft and hopeful melody when secured by GF (who I swore was ripped apart), and the sudden re-emergence of MX accompanied with a STAGGERING CRESCENDO; the timer even FREEZES UNTIL THE SCREEN IS PITCH BLACK!!!! It’s all JUST SO DAMN GOOD!!!!!
My favorite detail is not the timer staying on 0:03 but whenever an opponent does a laugh BF will always respond with his own. However this is not the case with MX because only a true psychopath would laugh in this situation.

I like how Powerdown ends with the jingle for when Mario meets his demise, and Demise has the pipe travel noise as it ends, which pulls double duty as it's also used when Mario suffers a powerdown. It's a fun touch.

@@Tiredartist9552 i agree as well, classified castle while being cool as a homage to the classified series and also having a banger overworld theme, it just felt too anti-climatic whereas MX (and by extension, hellish heights) felt like the perfect penultimate challenge

I'm starting to imagine a take on this song where MX isn't chasing Boyfriend throughout his world, but rather, all the way back to the start of the Warp Zone and blitzing through every previous song before looping back to Mario '85.
@@darkboi12 The best would be getting to see cameos from the opponents who are still alive (namely Mr. L, Mr. Virtual, DJ Hallyboo, GB, Devil Mario, Secret History Mario, Day Out Mario and Luigi, Super Bad Mario, Turmoil, Wario Apparition, Beta Luigi, Somari, Grand Dad, and Chris Pratt) and the other playable characters (Pico and IHY Mario). At least they would be cameos during each section, or even sing along when they show up.

Thought about if this was better than Game Over or not, but then i realized something, Demise has the vibe of running away from certain death. Game Over has the vibe of daring death to catch you if they can . Took this metaphor or whatever from some Pizza Tower ost video, thought it belonged here as well.
I always find an MX chase in my head really funny because no matter what I always imagine freight train noises as he runs. For example, in the game over (Haha Mario Funkin Mix reference) for this song I always imagine this: Bf: "Oh sh*t I trip-" MX: *V R O O O O O O O M*
When MX grabs boyfriend I imagine that he actually grabs him and when BF screams it's because MX is about to run directly off the cliff, and they have an "oh shit" cartoon moment before MX dropped BF and GF catches him
First time I played this mod, after Powerdown, I told myself “I still think Game Over is the best MX song.” I began questioning that while playing this song lmao
Then there was The Trollge Files and the fact Legion remade Girlfriend into a Trollge as well. Makes me feel bad for the guy every time I listen to Thanataphobia and My Dear Love.

Absolute heartbreaking and complete backstory, all songs slap, the final song felt actually terrifying (talking about Athazagoraphobia or however you spell it), everything about it felt really amazing. It was like a love letter to both FNF AND the trollge community. Viva la Trollge Incident.
Everything about this song just works. The absolute frantic nature of it all, MX becoming more aggressive as the song goes on, the fake out at 2:55 to 3:09, and my absolute favorite thing is the leitmotif inspired by Adventures End from Mario and Luigi Dream Team. Definitely my favorite song in the mod.
@@valwark You can find it with the piano riffs, both at the start of the song and when Girlfriend is carrying Boyfriend over the pit. And it's also at 2:24 to 2:44. I might be wrong, but these moments in the song sound like the opening to Adventure's End to me.
Unsure if it was the intention for the mod or so on, but with the part starting about 2:12 , it's playing an obvious reference to SMB2's boss music. And with this, Grand Dad's obvious SMB2 player select homage during their song, the major SMB3 section in All-Stars and the singing later (which usually happens in plays), I'm more and more liking the idea that the whole entire Mario horror thing is staged/a play done for entertainment after Daddy Dearest did shenanigans to the game's coding likely and thus the two truly were never in danger from the start as even with a "game over" they can come back with 3 more lives and learn it was all an act. And if so, then even with all the hints making obvious of such, it would take Boyfriend way too long to realize because mans was build with a sub 50 IQ most of the time and is too dumb for his own good to realize it even it put in front of his face until ages later. And thus ensuring once they realize it was a ruse more salt than the dead sea from them.
Saw and listened to the whole mod, but this is one of my new favorites due to music, composition, and the utter spine chilling Laughter and screaming vocals have got to be the best, universal work Kenny!

It’s not that I don’t like this song, I really really do like it. The reason as to why I don’t place it high on my tear list is because it pisses me off so much. On one hand, this song has some of the best sections in the entire mod that sound god-like, but on the other hand, there’s… the cave section. It could have been the best song in the mod, but at the same time it has the worst section in it. TLDR: I like this song but the cave part was trash
@@azizshamsi6044 I rewatched the gameplay of this song around 4 times now, and it turns out that GF did revive and tries to save BF (but she flew away and dropped him, as she doesn't want to lose another life).
You can fight me on this but this is the best song in the mod, its action packed and doesn’t just feel like spam (until the end section ig) it feel emotional and makes you wanna throw a chair out the window. The underground segment is fucking perfect with the MX screaming and Boyfriend just sitting there running for his life it feels like some Jersey Club type of beat and then the countdown section. This song is just fucking awesome in general.
One of the most intense songs in FNF modding history, BF has to outrun MX who just killed the love of his life and is still reeling from the shock. So glad that she comes back near the end to help him out. Amazing job on this emotional rollercoaster of a track!
mx singing the castle theme is one of my favorite parts, along with the fakeout at the end which has the added intensity of the timer getting stuck at 3 seconds, which was such a cool effect.
The fact that Mx's voice doesn't fit for this but also fits perfectly somehow is what i love in this song. Mx literally has it so hit notes slide into the next easily.
No clue if it’s just me but does anyone else hear the Grass Skirt Chase from SpongeBob on 1:53 to 2:03? Either way, this song is absolute peak and a banger. Honeslty, glad that MX was able to get 2 absolute bangers in this mod. You guys outdid yourselves.

This mod is literally one of the best mods out there i can’t even lie about that, the songs, the sprites, the story itself is just all amazing! This is one of my personal favourite mods to ever exist, i can’t even chose a favourite song since they are all just as amazing as each other!
I really love the use of the smb1’s castle theme here. Super fitting and it makes it even more tense. Edit it’s smb2 boss theme, they sound so similar anyways tho.
This song is just completely unbelievable. It's almost the hardest song in the mod, and there's no BS. No jumpscares, no dodging, no notes you HAVE to hit to survive, no hiding notes. Just you, a good song, and the looming 600+ note fact that you need to *RUN FOR YOUR LIFE* . I've seen multiple people play through this, and almost all of them both loved the song, and missed a TON of notes. All due credits to you and the charter for the mod, this one hit the ground running and didn't stop for anything!
1:17 - 1:25 goes hard, 0:40 sounds like MX and BF paused the chase then resumed it because the bsckground music cut off for a short bit. Very much a banger fr fr
