DMWTRS - dual pulse sequencer
DMWTRS stands for "Dual Man With The Red Steam" and it is
based on the sequencer part of the amazing "Plumbutter".
It is a shift register based pulse sequencer, with a clock input, 4 pulse outputs, 8 data outputs and 4 data inputs.
Patching a data output to a data input turns the shift register's output back to it's input, so the sequence is looped, also, this is how you can set the length of the sequence.
The concept/idea is based on Peter Blesser's amazing work.
Features:
- clock input accepts literally any kind of clock or gate
- clock input is converted to pulse, to further use in the system
- 4 pulse outputs on red square banana jacks
- 4 data outputs on white square banana jacks and 4 on violet bananas
- 4 data inputs on white banana jacks
- data inputs accepts (max.) 0-15V voltages
- data outputs are standard 0-15V digital voltages
- push buttons to add (red) or remove (white) bits from the stream
- compatible with 100, 200 and 200e systems
- the modules does not produce (or even use) negative voltages
- black & white printed manual (3 pages...) included
- hand-built, hand numbered

something is creating a very mean high frequency hiss . However the module looks interesting, even that id did not yet understand how it works

You are right, but note, that I'm sure it is not generated by this one XD You see, I have a fairly large studio, I have kilometres of USB cables going back forth between modular setups and the computer - I'm pretty sure, it picked up something there. You can grab the PDF manual to learn a bit more: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0664/5635/5083/files/DMWTRS_Manual.pdf?v=1717487319 Will post and shoot more videos during the weekend with a different camera angle, just to show the rest of the system as well.

I like it! Will be buying one. Questions: 1) Are DATA OUTPUTS stepped voltages? If so, from what source are the voltages derived? 2) Are the DATA INPUTS only 2bit or AD converters?

DATA outputs are voltages directly from the shift register, digital, so 0V or (roughly) 15V, DATA inputs are also only 2 BITS, 0 or larger (above 8-9), just to fill up the shift register.

@@encoderaudio Ok, thank you for the clarification. So then DATA outs are similar to a square gate and PULSE outputs are a conditioned pulse to Buchla spec, correct? I'm convinced I want this. Great patching in this video, by the way. Really displays the raw potential in circuits like this. I'm plotting in my head paring it with Magnetic Freak's Boolean Logic Latched. I can see how insane that could get. Control every element of the patch with this pair feeding each other. Change one thing and the whole patch potentially changes. Yup. I want this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ayj667RECKA.html

@@precarious333music Correct! you see, this is basically an iteration of the MWTRS part of the Ciat Lonbarde Plumbutter, the only addition is the clock to pulse converter and the pulse outputs.

@@encoderaudio I'm familiar with shift registers but not Ciat Lonbarde Plumbutter so I appreciate your replies. One last question. I assume the PULSE outs produce a short voltage of a matter of milliseconds. It looks like DATA outs are longer. Does DATA out remain high for the length a particular stage is active or are they a set length? Really looking forward to adding this to my case!

@@precarious333music You got it all correct. Data outputs are standard full outputs of the shift register, they stay high till the next clock.

Really cool.. Question, why is the clock output pulse LED blinking erratically (the one next to the clock in)? I'm assuming the incoming clock is steady, judging from the rest of the patch.

The clock input is basically the original circuit from the CL schematic, which is able to handle a lot of all kinda' inputs. Since I had some leftover space on the board, I've placed some good old CGS gate to trigger converters there, so if you use some MIDI-GATE converter, or some Euro/Serge clock sources, that'll be converted to Pulses - that is that LED for.
