I wish i would have seen this 4 years ago. After a few years of trial and error, i was looking to upgrade my 150 to the X-1000. So thanks for this posting. You just saved me $3000.
Thanks for this - very clear, but I wish I had your manual too! Not sure about settings in the menu - like have I changed the shutter speed by mistake? how can I be sure that shutter speed is same as recording speed?
Well done video. Thanks for taking time to produce. With re; to monitor; I chose to mount monitor on center 1/4" screw hole on handle, and reserve the shoe for mounting a light. Ordered a special cold shoe female mount for screw hole. Works great, Even now, 2017, I think the Ag HMC150 is still about the best quality camcorder available.(Ordered a second one) Whether for special events, or news gathering, quality is superb. Ron W.
Still have an AG-HMC 150, though I have developed a problem with the audio level meters which stopped working. If I press the disp/mode chk, they come on briefly but quickly turn off. Can you tell me something?
Check in the menu for display options. If you have it set to "partial" or "minimal" the audio levels may not appear on-screen. Disp/Mode chk temporarily enables all/full overlays. If that's not the issue, then it's some other fault that Panasonic support may be able to assist with.
Have just become aware that the exec button on my HMC150 doesn't appear to be functioning, as I've always used the the jog lever . Is there a way to activate it thru the menu? Thanks,
Discontinued. But there are multiple makes/models that support camcorder batteries, though the exact type used here are ancient, relatively speaking (held over from the early 2000's Panasonic DVX100).
I wouldn't recommend it. A splitter cable will invite interference and sound/phase cancellation. This camera has 2 XLR inputs so you could have each mic go to an input separately. If you need more mics than 2 total, then I recommend using a secondary mixer / recorder, and taking the output of that into the camera for reference audio and sync the separate recordings in post.
