Apple has disabled Group FaceTime as a temporary fix until a patch is available.

My question is how did the first person find this glitch....? Who adds themself to their own FaceTime call? Lol

I tried it about an hour ago and it worked but from what I read, Apple disabled Group FaceTime features about 20 minutes ago so it doesn’t work anymore.

I get this is old data, but letting people know bad things are possible is a good thing. Props for treating your subscribers like adults!

Back in the day I had a Motorola phone / Fido connection that would let me listen in on the other persons call before they picked up (instead of the ring). Never got reported, fixed by itself in about a month. I would enjoy hearing what people were saying before they picked up my call :)

My friends and I tried this yesterday. It's really no laughing matter, but since this was amongst our group, we couldn't stop doing just that.

Instructions to start a facecall is illustrated in the video but instructions to how to disable it is just linked in the description! Wow this truly is for educational and informative purpose and not for helping other people invade privacy!

This bug has been around for a while, the authorities have used this a lot.

Okay but like the problem isn’t fixed I sometimes had my mom hang up first and if I kept my call on I could hear her talk about me and shit after the call with people who are around her-

Go to settings and tapp on FaceTime and turn FaceTime off

Okay but what do you do when a number you don’t know FaceTimes you and you don’t answer I restarted my phone hopefully they can’t hear or see anything

I saw this problem like 2 years ago almost, on iphone 5. There was video but no audio if i remember correclty. I didnt pay anu attention since i never used the app i was just messing with it

Came across this while searching for an answer... In the middle I awoke to my phone facetime app ringing. It showed a friends name, but my glasses were off and I was asleep so I didn't really pay attention the the rest. I was worried and answered the phone in a panic. I accepted the call, so I assume it came from her end. However, she said the same thing had happened on her end (she also awoke in a panic) . We were both sleeping. My phone was over on the dresser and her phone was over on a table. The call Does show on the log for both of us. This is quite disconcerting. Has anyone experienced this or heard of it? thanks

are they still working on this because I just heard random static talking through my iPad that lasted 5 seconds during my ft call and it freaked me the hell out.

Android os of my dev seemes have similar bug, some1 is able to eavesdrop my screen synchronizely but no particular packages detected,no GUI,is it some spyware app or just capture data flow & decrypt it?

Do both phones have to be updated for this to work? Or just one of them?

You only demoed when the other party does not respond to the call in some way. So I have a question, if I don't want to disable Facetime for now but I receive a call and I reject it would this bug still be able to hear or see me the ways you demonstrated or does it bug affects only when its on the 'calling' screen? The poor thing from apple was they didn’t respond to people who raised this bug directly to them. They may well have started working on a fix but by not responding to people, it’s more likely to be escalated to tech press and then you have to deal with the news story and negative publicity.

What if they decline? Does it stay like that until they pick up or not? Anyway, I wish I knew about this and snooped in my now future ex wife. She cheated 3 months ago but it would’ve been sweet if I heard more crap from her.

See, this is why I use the Cinco C-phone from Cinco. You cannot receive calls you can only make calls! That way, no one can bother you when you are at work, or during your leisure time out at the golf course.

I was using this app called WhatsApp and dude kept calling so I kept hanging up and he was like hello i was like YO WTF, so I closed the app and I didn’t hear him again
