Demo riding a 2019 Carbon Trek Slash 29er at the Whistler Bike Park!
It features 160mm of travel in the front and 150mm in the back. It is a very light bike being all carbon!
In this video I ride it on Ninja Cougar, Karate Monkey, A-line, and Hornet.

i have a trek slash 9.7 29er and i got to say i love it. i rode it at mountain creek bike park and it held amazingly. although 29ers at a bike park arent super common, it was more comfortable for me even over a 27.5.

I think they do work nicely for enduro racing. However if u just like to flick your bike around and freeride it then go for 27,5 or 26 🤙

Jordan Boostmaster, I enjoy your riding technique and wish I could send IT Like you! I think you should try out the Trek Remedy 9.9 it's a 150mm travel 27.5 bike that I believe will fit your trail riding style when not at the Big Parks.... just my opinion...🤷‍♂️ try it out!🤘🏿🤘🏿

I am looking at the remedy 8 or 9.7, really like it. But a 29r plows over that much better. Won't be doing big jumps but want something that'll perform. Tried the full stache and wish it had more travel. Going to try the slash soon. Any imput would be awesome

I understand how you might feel that way, I ride 29 too. But he never ever says in either review that they are not good bikes. He re-iterates that they are not for him. How you feel on the bike is way more important than the bike itself. For that reason I truly appreciate his honesty and he's open enough to give them a try

I went from a 26er to 29er its a huge difference the amount of speed that it carries downhill (Especially in pumping sections) it actually scared me cause I wasnt ready for it. All that being said I feel that the 26er was leaps and bounds more nimble and more capable in tight sections. But I think I am seeing the light regarding the 29er cause rolling over chunk is so much easier sections where I had difficulty i easy cruise over now.

Its awesome you get to try out different bikes like this. I know you were trying to decide whether or not to go to a DH bike from your truax. Now that you took a smaller travel bike down Whistler again, do you think you'd ever switch back for park riding? I just find my Enduro to be so much more playful, but I feel more confident in parks on my DH.

For bike parks like that I would imagine it would be hard to compete with a DH bike with something that's not. Enduro bikes fill the void for being more multipurpose than the singular purpose DH bikes. If you prefer to ride 27.5, try the Remedy. There is a little more of a difference than just a 29 vs 27.5 between the Slash and Remedy, geo's a little different, the rider feel in the seat is a tad different.

Personally I can through around most of the 29inch bikes I've ridden like I can with 650s, but I am 6,4 and most of the 29er I rode where notoriously playful, such as Evil and Santa Cruz, so this may make a difference?

I bought this exact model Trek a couple months ago but in the 21.5 frame or XL as I'm 189cm and long limbed. Didn't try the Remedy but the Slash I have ridden from black XC Trails to Double Black DH with a long fire road climb back to the top and some Black Jumpline tracks as well as a BMX track. It pedals very well. This coming from a 20" XC Hardtail as my previous mount. On technical climbs I prefer the Slash and the long climbs are just more comfortable. On the XC and flow trails I put the geo in high position and am still experimenting with that. My confidence pointed down though is greatly improved on this bike which has me sending steep rutted shoots, DH and jumps which I couldn't imagine doing before I got my Slash 9.8 Would love to ride it at Whistler. One day, but for now, stick riding Aus and then pull it across to Northern Europe.
