Aviation has no single father, but came about thanks to the efforts and accomplishments of many, Santos Dumont among them. Others include the Wright Brothers, Louis Bleriot, Glenn Curtiss, and others too many to mention.
I've loved the plane this is modelled after since, as a child, seeing its representation in the movie "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines." Lovely to see something similar in the air. I read that the original Demoiselle had no roll control, and later models used wing warping. On your version I see no ailerons. Are you wing warping?

bom. os irmaos la infelizmente foram os primeiros a voar. eles voaram mais longe e mais tempo, porem o voo do 14 bis foi o primeiro publico e o primeiro a nao ser angry birds. mesmo o 14 bis tendo voando apenas 6 metros de altitude a 220 metros a replica do alan calassa (q é uma replica quase 100% fiel, so o motor q é diferente mas tem a mesma potencia) voou MUITO isso prova que o 14bis era sim um aviao poderoso. e tambem eu considero muito mais o santos dumont como o pai do aviao porque diferente dos wright que ja meteram patente e mostraram pro exercito, o santos dumont nao patenteou pois queria que o aviao fosse um conhecimento da humanidade, ele lutou contra os aviões serem usados na guerra. e se matou de depressao ao ver o que a invenção dele virou, santos dumont fez muito mais do que apenas um dos primeiros aviões do mundo. é uma pena ele estar sendo esquecido pelo mundo

The airfoil is not authentic (the original planform is lost to history), and the propeller is a modern design which connects back to the pioneering work of the Wrights. Calassa’s look-alike is certainly wonderful, and a tribute to the great Santos-Dumont, but it does not have the same performance range as the original. This is why the success or failure of a modern look-alike does not prove or disproves the claims for the original aircraft. We know that the 14-bis flew by other evidence, and likewise the claims for the original Wright Flyer must be judged by evidence other than the performance of a modern look-alike.

Pois a aeronave de Santos.Dumont conseguia levantar voo Se sustentar no ar E conseguia pousar. Os planadores dos irmãos Wright eram lançados ao ar, e depois eles caíam porque eles não conseguiam pousar .
@@jamesgoddard2321 Sorry, Santos Dumont built the first reliable plane. Paris 1908. Demoiselle. Se some serious literature on this subject. 14 bis and the Wright were experimental.
O detalhe é que mesmo com o precário de 1907!!! As filmagens provam que ele voou muito. Enquanto qualquer réplica dos wright nas condições de 1903-1905, ficará no chão. Só voam muito modernizadas.
@@juremalog6328 Pouco se fala, mas Santos Dumont chegou a cair com o Demoiselle. Os irmãos Wright chegaram a fazer voos mais longos que Santos Dumont, mas a primeira exibição pública de um voo deles só ocorreu em 1908. Kkk
@@juremalog6328 Nunca mesmo, o primeiro voo motorizado foi deles. O primeiro voo em público foi de Santos Dumont. Agora o primeiro voo de que se tem registro foi do alemão Otto Lillenthal que fez um voo planado em 1895. Kkk
