Ok I wasn’t going to admit it, I did cry❤. I know nothing of Yannis and his circumstances. I was moved by Billy’s gesture for sure. Billy misses nothing. That’s my take, he doesn’t miss anything even if he doesn’t let on that he sees…..❤
Mick you must have been an amazing father to Billy, a true role model. As I watch your interactions with others I also see these same qualities in Billy. Be proud!
Yannis has not only gotten a good job, but a family like atmosphere to be involved with. Everyone loves him. I can't imagine the hours of putting the mud in those walls and all the work that went into the framing.
They say a person's character is defined not by what they say but what they do. Once again, Billy, your character shined through as to your generosity to Yanis. Well done again today all. Merry Christmas to you and may God continue to bless you and your family.
Hello all. So glad to see the safety measures being utilized. Dad's hard hat, Yannis shoes, your glasses and masks. Keep up the good work. Love watching this sort of thing. I used to help my uncle build stuff. Blessings to you all.
I love watching your vlogs, Billy, Alex and the whole crew. I was so happy to see you mention the viewer comments about Yannis' footwear. That was so good of you to give him those boots, as well as mentioning the feedback you'd been receiving. Other vloggers might just delete any comments that they deem critical. You did the right thing, Billy. Thank you and Merry Christmas to everyone!
I’ve never heard of a terracotta ceiling before. Look at me, learning stuff from your renovations! Yannis has come such a long way since he first appeared helping Simon out early in the year. He’s such a useful all-rounder now, his confidence shines through. For some reason I’m ridiculously proud of him
Yannis first appeared when they were clearing up the Cobbles in the courtyard - that may have been on Sadie's channel or Mo's channel, I think it was Sadie's.. 3 "Hot" men working in the garden 😉
I bet Yanis can sock away the groceries!! 😂😂He’s so wiry and he hustles like crazy. He surely is expending the calories! I hope they all have a Christmas feast!
You’re so good to Yannis. Those boots are a good investment in a good employee. He’s a good worker and pays you back for your goodness. That lime coating will be fine in the garden too. You’re getting lots of reusable lumber it seems. Merry Christmas to the entire crew!
I hope in some way that the 1960's "improvements" actually improved the nuns' lives and comfort, because that institutional "look" couldn't have been uglier. Then seeing how badly the work was done was truly an amazement, insulated with cardboard indeed. So wonderful to see the old beams coming into view again. I know the final restoration will look much like the magnificent kitchen ceiling, lofty, strong and uplifting. What a lot of work this demolition is, messy and dirty and lots of junk for the tip. Thank you, Billy, for taking notice of Yannis' footwear and replacing it with safety boots. Very kind as well as practical. You have such a nice way of saying things...just enough to make a point but not belabor it. I hope you all have a well-deserved long holiday and can't wait to see if the grand organ makes her appearance. I can honestly say I don't recall ever being as intrigued and inspired to see a renovation project of this scope in all its stages of progress. Very inspiring! Lots of love to the Pethricks and their team, and to all here cheering them on. Merry Christmas!
It’s really sweet of y’all to think about protecting Yannis’ feet! I was watching him in the soft shoes yesterday and thinking he needed boots; guess I’m not the only one. Good job with the demolition, gentlemen. Here in the U.S., we don’t see this kind of construction, so it is a treat to see the convent’s old “bones”. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. I wish the whole Petherick family and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Billy, I appreciate the way you care for your friends and employees. Those shoes are great. You are setting him up with the tools to go as far as he wishes. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all of you.
with the walls and ceilings gone, the imagination how magnificent this convent can look again, when you have stripped it all and rebuild with your vision Billy…..future generations will always be remembering that Billy Petherick and his family, friends and coworkers did give this monumental property new life
It’s the Friday before Christmas and I presume the convent will go silent over the next several days…. Except wouldn’t it be lovely to hear the steeple bell ring on Christmas!
So glad Yannis has good safe footwear and my nurses heart is happy to see you all wearing masks and goggles ! Good choice of music Alex ! Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year ❤️
As a nurse myself, totally agree with wearing masks, hard hats and solid footwear whenever doing demolitions. Who knows what those walls, ceilings and floors contain. Safety first 😍😘
Ear protection is also recommended. That dust is just as imposing within the ear as it is in an eye or in the lungs. Occupational Health & Safety regs exist for a purpose.
Je suis très contente que les pieds de Yannis soient mieux protégés, merci Billy. I love this channel and this project and Alex is doing a fantastic job!
Billy you are a truly a kind man by listening to one of your viewers suggesting that Yannis have protective footware and then get him some, not many people are that kind and giving. Wishing you, Gwen, your boys, Michael, Sadie, Olivia, Mo, your wonderful Mom and Dad and Yannis and every other member of your family a truly blessed and Happiest Christmas. xx
Omg Billy, thanks for buying Yanis work boots. It put a tear to my eyes. We all love Yanis and want the best for his safety. 👍Happy Holidays to the Pethericks and all!🎄🎅🎄🦌
Billy, you are so kind to buy Yanis the boots. It made me crazy worrying about the possibility of him injuring his feet. Your such a great person! The 3 of you are really cracking on, wow. It is coming down fast and efficient, as well. Mick sure is a trouper!! Merry Christmas to all the Petherick's, Alex and Yanis ! It always makes my day watching your team! I have a feeling the good sisters would be thrilled to know their convent is being repurposed into something beautiful and useful!
Appreciate how you took that ceiling down Billy, methodical and safely. I also like the hard hats, masks and gloves! Thank you for getting our hard working Yannis his boots. 😊❤
I learned wattle & daub for mud/clay/straw construction. Here in the southwest US & Mexico, we see beautiful adobe buildings. Clay, mud & straw are mixed, shaped into bricks & dried in the sun. Walls can be several feet thick. Amazing insulation.
To you Billy and all your family, and all those who are the team, joyful Holidays. Yannis is such a dedicated worker. Simon and your father are building his skills everyday. Family isn't just made by blood but by heartstrings woven together.
Billy's generosity never fails to bring a smile to my face. It's also the thoughtfulness that accompanies these acts of generosity that touches my heart.
While watching your videos, i thought Yannis is going to damage his toes, then ten minutes later Billy turns up with some strong boots. We'll done Billy.
Hey Billy and crew! Yannis is a BEAST! He just goes for it. Thank you Billy for protecting him. Well "Mates" it's Friday and it's the Friday before Christmas; so with that said... This is my favorite channel and I wanted to make certain I extended BEST WISHES and the HAPPIEST HOLIDAYS to each and everyone involved in the undertaking. Looking forward to a brand NEW YEAR!!! /Let's "crack on!"
Love watching your posts. I love how you take old things and breathe new life into it. Whether it is a Chateau, Convent or pipe organ. Ceiling is down!!!! Next time let it fall into the wheelbarrow and have less shoveling. You work so hard and Yannis is a beast. Merry Christmas to you all.
That was very nice of Billy to buy Yannis(SP?) some shoes, the ones he had looked like they'd seen many construction sites. These ones look more protective if a hammer or debris fell on his toes. Yannis totally deserves it too, he seems like such a sweet dude.
Thank you Billy That was super nice of you to buy Yanis work boots. I am sure you are proud of your father. How wonderful for him to be able to come and help you. If I can not get back I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. 😊😊
Thank you Billie for getting Yannis proper foot wear. I was worried he would end up stepping on a nail. Merry Christmas to all of you. Enjoy your Christmas .
What a family the Pethericks are…they show what care and kindness really is. In this world right now, they are the most wonderful example of what human beings are supposed to be like towards each other. Mick, what a family you have grown! Happy Christmas to everyone, have the best time.🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄😘😘😘😘😘
Happy Christmas (as you say across the pond!) to our favorite demo Family-the Pethricks and the entire crew! Dad Pethrick, you are AMAZING! For those of us involved in closing monastery the respect you give to this old convent is very comforting.
What a filthy job! I wonder whether the Tip realise they’ll have half a convent in their skips? Full marks the 4 of you for sticking it out so far and a very happy Christmas to everyone. Have a wonderful break. You all deserve it. 🎅🏻🤶🏻
So glad you fixed the footwear issue, was worried for Yannis. Its no fun to step on a nail. Totally entertained watching your restoration efforts. Can't wait to hear Michael play the organ. Thank you for all your effort and sweat!
😊The boots for Yannis made me cry Billy. Your kindness and caring soul shines through in everything you do. And please disregard people who complain about your videos and the 🎶 music. I actually Google the names of the songs used in your videos because I love them so much. Continue to take care of those you love and care about Billy, and thank you for allowing me to view bits and pieces of your and your family and friends amazing journey through life 😊
Voilà les chaussures de sécurité sont arrivées c'est une bonne chose pour Yanis. Vous devriez aussi en mettre Billy. Les poutres du plafond vont être magnifiques. Votre papa est extraordinaire. Bravo à tous. 👍👏👏😃
Glad to see safety glasses on Mick & Yanis. Masks too. Y’all are doing great keeping it all cleaned up. New boots for Yanis was real nice of you. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
You have invented a new olympic sport - synchronised wall kicking. It is going to be massively popular. Alex, is there anything you cannot film and make beautiful? Well done for getting Yannis some new boots. They look great, as Yannis is a man on a mission. Thank you Billy, for all the amazing projects that you do and the fabulous people you bring along with you. Happy Christmas to all of team Petherick. 😄🎄🎉🎁🎀🥂🎅
You’re a good man Billy! You do things well, the right way, and you care about your friends and family. Billy, would you consider creating a few short-term stay apartments. I bet there are other retirees who would love to spend a few weeks in your area, at the convent, and even help out with gardening, etc. A bedroom, a sitting area and a little kitchen area would make for a great stay at the convent. Merry Christmas,Happy New Year to all of you.
Thank you for making my Christmas! You and your team deserve a well earned break. What you all do is special, to day the least. Taking abandoned buildings and making them whole again is just magical. Also you’re not doing a quick fix either, you’re making the building work again for the community. Marvellous! Merry Christmas to all of your team, your family, your friends and your pets.❤🎄
Bravo, Billy, for getting steel toe shoes for Yannis! Now he can properly play ballet with you, Mick and Simon, amongst the falling debris and not hurt his dear pedal pushers...Good on you, mate!!! He'll be walking proud for many more years to come, now......
Merry Christmas to all of you beautiful people on the screen and in the comment section! Looking forward to beam condition discovery, to Christmas Day vlog and possibly Michael's organ surprise and to Simon's great return in January, with old and new projects ahead of us. Stay well and safe! XOXO
Thank you Billy every time I saw a piece with a nail fall and thought of someone stepping on the nail I could feel it. I stepped on a nail about 56 years ago and still get weird about nails in scrap. Now I know all of you have appropriate footwear and masks and goggles and hard hats, and Yanis has boots
You're a good man, Billy. I too was worried about Yannis's footwear. I'm so glad you took care of him. I am so addicted to your entire family's channels. Still waiting for my Pip prints to arrive.
Sublime filming; the dust gets in my nose with every shovelfull into that wheelbarrow. More importantly, Pip arrived in Arizona today, all the way from France. Can't wait to have him framed so he can have a permanent home on the wall. Thank you, Michael and everyone else, too, who so generously share their adventures with us.
Merry Christmas, Pethericks and team! Amazing the beautiful light that is coming in! This library is going to top the beauty of the kitchen and I wasn’t sure that was possible. So impressed with the vision and work ethic of the Pethericks.
So pleased about Yannis getting new shoes. I was concerned about the ones he was wearing considering the kind of work he was doing there. Nice one Billy ! Happy Christmas to ALL of this wonderful crew and their families. Best wishes for 2023. 🥰
