For those of you who don't know "The Flame that Guides Us Home" is an intro to "Not I". Enjoy. . . I claim no rights to this music...pictures from google.
If they're preaching hate because it's metal then they know nothing. Lord made instruments and music to be an outlet to all mankind all music is still the lord's. Just if you're the type of one who hates a genre based on a religious belief.
Killing floor brought so many people to demon hunter. I downloaded killing floor 2 on ps4 with no clue what to expect and almost shit myself with excitement when demon hunter started playing. They have been a favorite of mine for a very long time and i didnt think any else even knew they existed. So happy to see their music gain more acknowledgement, they deserve more recognition.
This is one of the songs that kept me sane when I was working as a street Pastor in Phoenix, AZ, back in the day... grateful to Messiah for this song and many others!
7 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down-that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. - Revelation 12:7-10 (NIV)
This song is fucking exceptional. Can any Demon Hunter fans direct me to more of their songs that sound like this? I believe I Heard this on Sirius a year ago and still can't get enough of it.
+Viewing Account I recommend "Death", "Snap your finger, snap your neck", "I will fail you", and a few more I don't recall. The Triptych is likely their best album. Some of DH is an acquired taste, some of it is only OK, some of it is fantastic.
I must add, I respect your position and the past you come from...jaded is exactly what I was when I started turning my back on God after being raised in church. You, unlike me, have a lot more confidence in the conclusions you have come to. Personally, after being a biochem major (just to throw out some titles lol) see science going hand in hand with my belief, the two are not separate, and science alone will not explain where matter originated.
Jail doesn't stop existin just because you don't believe in prison ~ Lecrae....I used to be athiest but God showed me that He is real...and I thank Him so much for taking off that blindfold...PRAISE THE LORD!!!
Really irritating how people have to have a war over this. Disregarding my religious views, I couldn't give a single shit about the fact the members of DH are Christian. The music is good, the themes are decent, I like it. That's the end of it.
Rowan Buchanan Well , DH *officialy* *IS* a christian band . You can read what Ryan said when it comes to this subject . I will add that if you're an atheist you can just shut the fuck up and enjoy the music without annoying the fuck out of anyone else . Cheers .
_H8_4_Lyfe_ Do you know how to read? Quote me on where I said I wouldn't like the band if they were Christian, because I'm 100% positive I said the opposite of that statement.
Demon hunter CD $20 Kenwood CD player in my Eclipse $150 Blasting this song full volume in a Baptist church parking lot after a youth group gathering and getting confused stares from everyone? Priceless
Metal is the closest genre we have to modern classical. Demon Hunter has weaved the two, classical composed and distorted edge. They give a physiological message, while holding tight to worldly destruction.
I can play both these songs on guitar, and I have to say.... these guys do a better job of blowing people away with awesome epic great perfection. Thanks Demon Hunter!!!!
very well put together, I appreciate having the first song along with the second. They don't work as well alone as they do together. I will use this to memorize this song. thank you.
Dunno if anyone here plays KF2, but did an update to the game replace the standalone version of Not I with a variant that included The Flame That Guides Us Home?
love these guys even though I'm not christian I'am a zenthiest (my belief in god is different then those of judeo-christian though) I love listening to their music anyway it's both manic yet enlightning...just like mewithoutyou's earleir stuff, they were another heavy band with spiritually fueled lyrics.
Anyone who has had religion crammed down their throats, well whoever has done that has really misrepresented God. God doesn't want people to cram it down people's throats. I have led a load of people over to the side of righteousness, but I didn't do it by telling them they are going to Hell. So don't hate whatever is holy because of someone who didn't know what they were doing. A blind man cannot lead another blind man.
Oh and I agree with you about eternity being conceptual. This stuff about dimensions though is not conceptual, we are just beginning to delve into some of this stuff. If you look at science..and i bet even ask some scientists on the cutting edge of things, they would say this: The more we learn, the less we know. It is obvious though, like you said, that we are vastly in the dark for the most part. You have to just shoot for your best logical guess, and know why you believe what you believe.
I am my second example. I came from a life of "NOW". I came from addiction to some drugs that gave me a lot of "NOW". I do not suppose to be able to convince you I am right or wrong, all I can do is simply give my story when people will listen. I will not march blindly to my grave, I will put my faith in something, The most "real" thing I can find, and I have not found it in the "NOW"..I have found it in faith, which to the frustration of so many, including myself, doesn't always give an answer.
(Part 3) have meaning to us NOW. Our car matters NOW, because it is useful to us. We enjoy the taste of food NOW, because it tastes good to us. We enjoy love and fun and freedom NOW, because there is no afterlife, and "now" is all we'll ever have. The fact that there is no afterlife doesn't make murder any less hurtful, and it doesn't make love any less thrilling. If you need to believe that these things are eternal in order to have meaning NOW, then I feel very sorry for you.
@assassinscreed00 I'm not judging them my brother but its the matter of the skull, see I know certain spirits abide in symbols and a rams skull is no different. But anywho I did get some info on the symbol and I understand. While I do promote Christian Rap, Rock was my first musical love and I've just been looking for true representatives of Christ in this genre. PS: I never questioned their message, but its all good. Thanks for being the only one to answer me lol. God Bless
How sad is it, that i see on here whom i call my brethren mocking those who are blind or are hurting. We do not need to seek justice for our King. For it is already done, and to those of you who say you do not beleive in the King Jesus, i just want you to know, he loves you more than you could ever know, and to my brethren...did he not die for them just as he did for you, and to the unbelievers on here, i want you to know I Love You as well. Even the ones who will "troll" on me as most people say on here. Being Christian isnt about pointing the finger, its about loving people to life, Just as our King Jesus did. He Loved people, even the ones who persecuted spit in hhis face, crowned him with thorns and nailed him to the cross for no sin and he did it willing, so that we may have eternal life in his kingdom after our bodies die.
My apologies for insisting you did claim that, I guess I should have worded it this way: You think we as humans are privy to all senses in existence...and that, I just can't accept, scientifically. Just you tube stuff about the 4th dimension..it is science...but it fits perfectly into what I would believe. A 3D object cannot percieve a 4D object, and so on...and the dimensions go well past 4. I appreciate your thoughts...you are making me think haha
Every time I see one of these, I feel a little worse about myself. I want to believe, I really do. The concept of a loving and caring God is something I really want to believe is true, but the whole concept of "faith" is impossible to wrap my head around, because you're not supposed to. You're supposed to just... believe, and I can't. Congratulations on returning, and hopefully I can join you.
Actually you are NOT supposed to "just believe". That isn't faith. That is delusion. Faith is built upon a solid foundation. Test all things and hold on to what is good. If you keep searching for the Truth and do not waver you WILL find it.
Evidence is something that can give a sign. Through what I know through self experience he gives me signs all the time, evidence is evidence. If i didn't have evidence through self observation I wouldn't be a Christian in the first place.
yes, even the title is so christian. you know, heaven is home, and the Holy Spirit is our fire, and that fire that burns for Christ will bring us back home(heaven)
Best to not sin, the wages of sin are death and although we are forgiven in Jesus name we shouldn't assume His mercy. A Holy priest once told me if I don't want to sin I should read the Bible daily and I would add if I want to STOP sin to add daily rosary, regular mass(more than Sundays) and confession at least once a month even if it be for venials. ES-|-999 p.s we need to be reminded that not only is it possible to be forgiven of our sins but to NOT sin is possible, I guess in the light of mercy at least minamilise sin for those that are not of they're right mind and therefore don't have full knowledge and consent, fight the good fight till the end.
Nor did I state that we are privy to all senses in existence. You are very correct: the more we learn, the less we seem to know. I never claimed otherwise. The problem that I have is when you and others see ignorance - a lack of knowledge - and decide to shove God into the void. The fact that there *could* be a god out there doesn't mean we're justified in believing there is. The fact that we don't know doesn't make it ok to believe. These are not rationally-held beliefs. A rational belief is
(Part 4) Finally, I don't hate on christians. I hate on their beliefs. There is a difference. With that said, I never claimed to be "better than them". I openly admit that I am the equal-opposite of fundamentalist believers. I have no problem with that. There is nothing wrong with passion. With zeal. There is nothing wrong with being vocal and open about one's position. I don't oppose believers because they're vehement. I oppose them because they're wrong. Hope that answers your question(s).
@gingerchick007 thorns, follow the wolves, science of lies, my heart strings come undone (which was sang in my church by the choir director), Fiction Kingdom, grand finale (which talks about tribulation era), undying, the tide began to rise, i message you more if you want and to answer your question they are christian they have4 a video admitting they are and they are christian rock and christian metalcore, the video title is: is demon hunter a christian band?
@DreamyGhost1492 lol. well some people call it Life Metal when its this kind of stuff. They call Demon Hunter metalcore, anyways. It's pretty epic regardless.
This is real good I like it have of all of their CDs except for Triptych and the newest one (forget what its called) and does anyone no if there are Jewish or Noahide metal bands out there Im looking for some..keep rockin ya'll
***** haha you don't know demon hunter that well then you really don't. the band that inspired them was Living Sacrifice (Christian metal band) and also Ryan clark done some vocals for them also he done vocals for Nine Lashes a Christian rock band and also Ryan clark owns BEC records and Solid State Records. theres your research haha my comment wasn't ignorant at all. before you go on a rant you may want to ask instead of assume because you know what they say about assumptions.
***** No you actually said they are pure Metalcore then you accused the one who was right (not you) of posting ignorant crap that he did no research on. You sir, are dumb.
I love this band and all but the name of some songs and just whatever in this life it's like eating the trout you eat the meat but you spit out the bones
(Part 2) based upon the demonstrable evidence. Any belief not based upon evidence is simply not justified. And for the existence of a deity, we have NO such evidence. Thus, the belief is not justified. It's really as simple as that. I don't care what the possibilities are; the belief is not justified without tangible evidence.
(Part 2) first 20 years of my life. I don't need to study it, because I've lived it. I know it intimately. Please tell me: how is it "not like the others"? In what way(s)? How is it unique?
