"Under Siege: The Making of Tales From The Crypt Presents Demon Knight" is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film "Tales From The Crypt Presents Demon Knight". Excuse the watermark in the middle of the video.
They need to bring the story back and add to it i watched it as a little kid i was probably 8 or 9 when i watched a vcr recording of it i was born 5 years after release
This is my favorite Billy Zane movie. He brings so much of his witty humor to the movie. The whole cast is excellent. I've always been nuts for Billy since Dead Calm. He managed to even bring humor to that role.
That part where first gets pissed and takes off the cowboy gear....."how ya do podunk hillbilly cowboy mother fucker" I remember seeing this in the dollar theatre and was ROLLING
RIP Dick Miller. Glad they got his interview for this before he passed on. Was really a special kind of actor that you always took notice of. I'll always have a soft spot for this movie and the mythology. Needs to be redone, but not as a crypt movie or series.
Demon Knight is an all time favorite and for good reason....I mean, what's not to like? An underdog up against impossible odds, always on the run...A champion of God fighting for the Universe, against the very destruction of God's creation itself!! Sadler brilliantly cast as the battleweary Brayker! And the bad guy...Fantastically played by Zane having the time of his life bringing comedy and edge of your seat tension, knowing as an audience that this friendly smiling stranger is more dangerous than people realise...Just the look of Brayker, tired of all those years of running, you can see it in his face and the Collector, handsome and fresh, the complete opposite.......Look it's fucking awesome, the storyline, the effects, hardheaded Roach frustrating the audience, Brayker, the Collector and ALL the actors...It's a gem, guys, and that's the truth!
Tales from the crypt did do 2 more spin off movies after this, bordello of blood & ritual. Neither of which are relative to demon knight though. I personally think it's perfect as it is, any sequels would pale in comparison.
@@lilitharam44 NOPE not really, only a very few of their songs are ok. I prefer AC/DC, Audioslave/Soundgarden, G&R, Metallica, Ozzy and Black Sabbath, RHCP, STP, Alice in Chains.
I have a fond memory of my father taking me to see this as a kid... I was probably too young to see it but nonetheless we both had a blast with this flick. RIP dad, gone but not forgotten.
This is one of my all time favorite horror films.I never get tired watching this film. Billy Zane was great as the charismatic "Collector". He brought "devilish" charm to his role. This is the kind of film that demands multiple rewatches. Avoid Bordello of Blood at all costs.
And.... Gremlins 2 The Howling Trucker Turner The Terminator The Burbs Small Soldiers Project X Night of the Creeps Tales From the Darkside V I grew up watching him in all of those and TV shows.
I just saw the Video., but I have seen Demon Knight. I thought although it was under the Umbrella of TAles from the Crypt- It was a Great MOvie. I thought it was interesting what the Creators said about it being a Hero Movie and not rally a Monster Movie. I thought it was a Spiritual Movie as well. I liked it a lot and will try to watch it again. I thought there should have been a Demon Knight 2 which followed what happened with the Jada Pinkett Character. If I remember the Movie, she was basically a Criminal- a low life who God Choose to do good which is a nice Spiritual Message about Redemption.
I’d actually love to see a prequel. Give us more details on Brayker’s adventures up to this point. Billy Zane (The Collector) had obviously been tracking him down for a while. I think it could be a great film.
Well, as we see at the end, there are other 'Collectors' that take over when one is destroyed, so it wouldn't have to be Zane, if perhaps Brayker had destroyed a previous Collector before him. But yeah. Just considering the great, gritty, schlocky tone of this kind of picture, I'd like to see it set in the '70s. Maybe '70s NYC (Brayker took over during WWI)
I just watched it for the first time in what must be almost 25 years the other night. I remember it repeating a lot on movies channels back in the mid 90s, but I'd forgotten it ever existed until the other day. Very enjoyable film.
Demon knight was fun, campy in a good way, funny and has great characters (Billy Zane rocks in this!). And it feels like Tales from the Crypt. That's why it lives on!😊😊😊
Jill....I saw it in the theater when it was released. Was a freshman or sophomore in H.S back then. Owned it on VHS, DVD, will pick it up finally on Bluray because in my eyes it has earned a Bluray spot in my collection. Has been an underrated film for years/from the start maybe. I know horror fans who talk so large of crappy independent horror films yet scoff at this movie. Regarding the independent films/just because a first time maker does a horror film that can be done by a college grad doesn't make it a GREAT FILM. Time after time have had this talk...just because it is horror & unknown DOES NOT mean it is worthy. Substance is a great word when it comes to horror. Found alot of substance in Demon Knight & other films. Always happy to share a comment w/fellow fans.😎
Actors who play villains or monsters always come across as being the nicest people ever off-sreen, see also Angus Scrimm, Robert Z'Dar and Robert Englund and Michael Berryman. Also the fact Billy didn't deny he was losing his hair and just totally rocks that look like the king he is, and also...yeah I can see the Genie influence in Collector, as well as Betelgeuse.
Demon knight is a classic because of all the moving parts. Bordello didn’t understand why demon knight worked and just kinda made a different meal from the same ingredients.
My all time favourite movie, I still watch it today, been watching it since I was 7 lol. Best supporting cast with amazing acting from everyone. My favourites have to be William Zadler, Billy Zane, Jada Smith and the woman who played Irene (love her). As the audience you feel something for each character because it was written so well. It has everything you want in a movie like this, it has horror, comedy, a bit of Romance and a religious back story. It's so underrated and good that I wish they had carried it on as the trilogy it was suppose to be.
I love Demon Knight. It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated such as the concept and themes due to being zany, bizzare, wicked, funny, and goofy. William Sadler and Billy Zane did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Brayker and The Collector as they both put tons of emotion and depth into their roles. It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍👍💯😎
Bad ass movie really well done the first time i saw it didnt even know what is was going to be about at all my dad brought it home same thing with the mummy great flim as well
@@chrisk5204 I was born in 90, and I saw this in or after 2000. I had no idea it went to theaters, or that it was this big. Wish they had made sequels.
Really loved this show and it's very cool to get a view of what the actors thought and having more on the inside of it was awesome. Tales from the Crypt, insanely good. Demon Knight might be my favorite of them all. The actors blew me away, it was in someways so believable and in others just insanely funny. LOVED it! Thank you for presenting this.
I was in 7th grade and this came out and my mom dropped me a 4 friends off at the midnight premiere screening. House was packed and it was a ton of fun being 12. The entire theatre reacted as a whole wich hieghtend the experince. It was a great early experince highlighted by an awesome film. The demons flying around were truly evil and creepy, zane was hilarous and you could feel adlers pains. The aunt was a blast and jada had a perfect attitude. The entire cast was perfect and the movie is a personal favorite. I watch it more often then other favorites. In the opening nude scene my friend leo says aloud, damn her nipple is bigger than my head, and the entire 900 seat theater bust up laughing. Great knight
One of my favourite movies ever! I would love if they did a sequel or even a remake. Yes I know there are some of you that will spew out; "If they remake this my childhood will be ruined"... Well how would it? The original won't vanish! But the story, the mythology and the characters would be interesting in a remake. If a sequel was considered, show Jeryline killing the pursuing Demon collector from the ending of the last movie and have Billy Zane's Demon return where he has been waiting to return for a while since when a Demon dies, it's evil soul just gets sent back down to Hell. Maybe add some ruling that only 1 collector can walk the Earth at any one time blah blah, then Cue the return of Billy Zane's Collector. Boom! As for a storyline? Well I have a few ideas floating ;)
One of my favorite memories growing up was demon knight and tales from the crypt on fox 11 because we were poor in the projects and no one has fukn HBO
Demon Knight is one of my favorite movies I could empathize with every character in it My hat is off to Billy his performance was so over the top and amazing But the whole cast was phenomenal
Demon Knight is outstanding. Bordello of Blood is great also. Very funny, like some episodes of Crypt were. I’ve never understood why everyone shits on BoB.
@@FretlessMayhem I've avoided it so far...I know, shame on me. I agree Angie seemed like she was down to really have fun in the role, its a shame the budget went to the Miller! Don't get me wrong he does a great job, but arrogance comes at a price. If they kept to budget the effects, sets could have been elevated to a higher level. I push BoB on all my friends every Halloween and I will continue to do so!
I'll never forget going to see this as a teen in Times Square back in the mid 90's with some friends right as Times Square was changing.Bought the soundtrack, now have the novelization,t shirt and movie poster.Wonderful cast, great director,AMAZING effects and to think the original idea was about salesmen going door to door taking souls,WTF!?!
Love this movie since I was in high school. This evening I showed it to my 20 year old son who loves horror movies. He loved it! (Not bad for 1995, I said). He agreed! He said it was such a unique story. :D
Whatever happened to Ernest Dickerson he was such a talented black director back in the 90's along with Antoine Fuqua, Tim Story, Spike Lee, and John Singleton.
I don't care what anyone else says, I really enjoyed Demon Knight when I was younger... Still do today! Now Bordello of Blood on the other hand....it could disappear and I wouldn't much care. Bordello was trash
Great movie, great book, and beyond those, it's simply a really good story in regards to the key, the protector and the collector spanned over many lifetimes.
I remember in 4th grade some kid gave me the soundtrack to this movie. Such a confusing gift since I never heard of the film before. 2 years later I did finally end up seeing it on VHS. Made me sad that I didn't have cool enough parents to see it in theaters. Any idea when this documentary was made? Before or after the sequel?
