They're basically just "alluring skulls" from Dark Souls if you ever played those games. Basically one of those items that feels worthless and dumb to use but can serve a purpose at odd times.
Mate ur not alone I've had to turn it off abit I got so frustrated I must've died about 30 times trying to drop down kill the scythe woman then run that gauntlet! The damn rays kill me the gold skeletons its a nightmare and whereas my build up to now has allowed me an easy enough time on this part im struggling im magic based
What I mean is all enemy black phantoms aka non players are one shots and seem to appear much more often I didn’t find the bosses hard more basic enemy’s squid people in world three are a one shot on all attacks if you in souls form with 30 or lower vit just didn’t expect it to be that hard compared to dark souls 1,3 and bloodborne where ng+ is ez and magic damage is way to powerful in ng+ and fool idol can go to hell

So many difficult area of Souls games are made easy just by sprinting though but this one actually takes knowledge of items, timing and skill. Demon's Souls is one of the hardest games in the series.
On the first part of the skip to kill the second skeleton reaper I went back up the stairs to see if I missed any items and when I went back down to where I killed the reaper I was backstabbed by a black mist and kick off the edge, anyone know what happened?

Due to me not knowing how the world tendency worked at first, I had 4 as pure black and it’s been hell! It was literally the only section I had left. Just followed this to a T and was able to beat 4-2 and 4-3 to finally beat my first Souls game!
I see he encountered some phantoms on his way to the boss meaning Black or Pure Black world tendency Maybe he farmed Pure Bladestone for his weapon? Which requires Pure Black WT and it's the worst grind in the game...
