I'm kinda glad they didn't go with the idea of having Tanjirou and Nezuko being Yoriichi's descendants feel like it would have just been an cliche anime trope. Being descendants of the friends Yoriichi taught Sun Breathing too kinda makes the story more interesting.

Guys in simple words, yorichi is closely connected to tanjiros family, he taught them sun breathing technique, but tanjiros dad/grand fathers all were sick, cudnt perform or practice because they were weak, , but they taught tanjiro when he was very little, but never revealed it was the legendary 'sun breathing, because muzan was busy finding n killing every descendant of yorichii fam, who knows sun breath techniques, so they kept it as a fam secret.remember every water, fire, wind, technique are originated from sun breathing....
