That’s all!!! Love the slow mo, no stupid show off music. Thank u.. I’m visiting my hometown and I’m bored.. gonna take a walk n bowl a solo game.. I’ll watch 2 more times. Didn’t want to get frustrated/even more bored 1/2 way thru❤
Finally. I understand this perfectly. I've been bowling using my fingers going forward instead of throwing like a handshake. Makes perfectly good sense why my ball doesn't spin over the top of itself.
This bowler is adding side spin which is terrible for pin carry. Bowlers who release the ball in this manner are more prone to leave the 5 pin and various combinations there of as well as an abundance of corner pins.
Whenever I do that method, I throw it in the gutter and have way less control over the ball. If it's the right ball, all you have to do is pretty much just push it straight and let the ball roll off your hand. You can add a little bit of extra spin if you bring your hand around the side, but you still wanna stay behind the ball. I bowled like he showed when I was 9.
The majority of people have difficulty in positioning their hands lower down and under the ball. Instead the hand is on the top of the ball at the point of release. One technique is to throw down and extend your wrist forward ( like Spider-Man shooting a web), releasing the thumb and enabling the fingers to impart axis rotation on Bowling 🎳 ball.
@@nicholasdurham7608 That term or description is hard to understand as it pertains to rolling a bowling ball. Yes, people have experiential knowledge of unfolding the hand downward to release a yo yo, but there are details in the mechanics of releasing a bowling ball that do not align with throwing a yo yo. In Japan they describe the mechanics of the bowling ball release as soft wrist. IMHO, the hardest part in the downswing is bending the elbow slightly so the hand stays low on the ball and at the precise moment the hand relaxes (yo yo eureka), thumb exits from the ball, and the middle and ring fingers impart rotational energy to the bowling ball. What are your thoughts?
I would never teach someone to try and get under the ball because they’d most likely hurt their wrist…just try to get them to keep their fingers in the ball as long as they can during release and try to get their hand to leave the in a proper direction
You can still come up the back of the ball and it will hook LOVELY. That much axis rotation demonstrated in the video will get the ball to stay on line longer before making the move down lane while staying up the back will get you hooking earlier and into a roll that exits the pin deck more consistently.
I can 100% tell you right now… you are squeezing the ball to hold onto it. Finger grips are way too big, and fingers and thumb all come out about the same time. After you release, your hand collapses together rather than open. You are generating rotation by manually rotating the ball and hitting up on it rather than allowing gravity to do most of the work. Also very much on the side of the ball which will limit your versatility. I would suggest talking with your PSO about a fit adjustment. The ball should hold onto you, instead of you holding on to it. From there your can work on relaxing your hand and reducing muscle usage to maximize revolution and increase consistency. 😊
Looks way easier than it is. Been working on this like crazy and I still can't get more than a couple boards of hook. Not sure if it's me or perhaps my ball is not meant for hook.
The thumb should exit BEFORE the hand comes around the ball with the fingers still in. I am working on this in my own game. Uncup your hand quickly to to exit the ball off the thumb faster and onto the fingers for more revs.
My release is far from what this video shows. I was actually demonstrating for a beginner. I have a tucked pinky and come out of the ball with much more forward roll
@@ThePokersurfer do not lift that whats i'm working with coaches to stop doing now. you cannot hook the ball until you clear your trail leg. Also, just roll the ball off your hard. most balls do the work for you.
I can understand how to hook it but not how to bend the elbow on the downswing to increase my revs. Cuz after training i can throw faster but with a low rev the ball just doesn't hook that much
@@nickwhittaker4916 wrong elbow bend on the downswing to stay under the ball much like ej Tackett to increase your rev rate is necessary. Loading your wrist and elbow and then unloading by not lifting the ball like this awful video shows. You simple just unload by letting ball roll off your hand like a yo yo, you can find videos anywhere on the modern release which is way more consistent then trying to “lift” the ball. This guys finger grips are huge or his span is way too big to have all that finger pressure which means he can’t keep a loose arm swing and is muscling the very release of the ball.
Keep your fingers on the inside of the ball and not let your hand get to the outside of the ball stay behind the ball and let the ball roll off, lifting hasn’t been a thing since the 90s. Idk if your grips are huge or your fit is long but your finger pressure is way too much it’s supposed to be relaxed in the ball. Imagine this your simply holding the ball with the holes not trying to grip it so hard. Imagine holding an egg and letting it roll. The faster you go from loaded to unloading your wrist by letting it go like a yo yo the more revs ru-vid.comxQfU9bi1e-8?feature=share
I feel like his wrist could be closer to his body and his elbow more pointed outward, coiling the "spring" more, as you will. I feel like he could come up the back more and still manage good axis rotation, while creating better "carry" theough the pins. Now watch, I'm critiquing the release of a PBA champion ...facepalm!
I tried one hand… couldn’t do it. Couldn’t physically keep the ball tucked enough to give any flick to it. And if i did.. I wouldn’t understand how to flick by then bc im concentrating on tucking thats wrecking my wrist….. So i tried two hand without my thumb in… that worked but not what i wanted tho… so i tried my husbands way… kinda one handed and two handed mix…. Tuck and throw like a two hander… but using only one hand and the other arm for balance. Get the revs of a two hander but using only one hand. I rlly wish i could figure out the one hand though…..
