I'm playing this in my 7'th and 8'th grade band. We're combined this year because not enough people joined band this year. All but one of our saxophones left this year!
I'm an 8th grader and playing this in my concert band on flute. It took a little bit to learn the rhythms and so I have words to it. The first part is mud, mud, mississippi, hot dog, mud, mus, mississippi, hot dog, mud. I sing them now when the song is stuck in my head. LOL
This is the name of a housing development in Columbus, Ohio. I had heard that Swearingen picked the name of housing development neighborhoods for the titles of his pieces! 😄
