I'll never forget how much I wanted Drago/Dyna dragon as a kid. I mean its a jet that transforms into a red fire breathing dragon that's shaped like a T-Rex that combines with the already cool looking Servo/Gridman to look like some megazord. How is that NOT awesome?
For a long time I thought Gridman was related to Ultraman & UltraSeven, but he was just designed by Masayuki Gotoh, the head designer for the New Generation Ultramen, but the design and even the pose when he grows makes him look like an Ultraman creating confusion smh
Masayuki Gotoh designed the SSSS version of Gridman, Gridman( the 1993 version) was designed by Kazumitsu Akamatsu, who also was credited as the creator of Gravion alongside Masami Obari.
@@leanedelfin6436 well Gridman looks just like a typical run of the mill average ultraman or ultra hero. They have special attacks, they’re red, they have color timers, weapons, vehicles , armor or forms, and they fight kaijus . Ultraman fights kaijus on the earth or in space, Gridman fights kaiju inside the computer world .
FUN FACT: SSSS.Gridman is coming to Toonami in the US in 2021. Please not that SSSS.Gridman is the anime sequel of the 1993 classic, mainly because his original form was appeared in the last episode of the said anime.
@@aerodyte6908 The actual order of events is unclear, all we know is that both SSSS.Gridman + SSSS.Dynazenon and Boys invent Great Hero are all sequels, but there has been no clue as to which of the two paths come first. Hopefully the upcoming Gridman & Dynazenon movie clears the underlying lore a bit.
It's ironic that it aired the same year as Dairanger, and got adapted as Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad, so it directly competed against that other series twice
An interesting question could be who came before. Although Dairenoh came in mid-April and ThunderGridman came later(don't know exactly when. maybe between June and July), the ideas were developed way before those dates.
