They played in Siem Reap, Cambodia in February. My band, Soul Gypsies, was the support act. I am probably the only musician in R 'n R history to open for Dengue Fever while having Dengue Fever!

I'm strong, so I recovered pretty quickly. Admittedly, it was not an easy road but all is well now. Thank you for your concern. BTW... the band was absolutely wonderful, and really nice people!

Genjer-genjer is an old song in Java Island, popular during Japanese occupations. The song is about poor people in Indonesia that time who ate genjer to survive.

As far as i know, origin of this song is indonesia. The title is genjer-genjer. But this song is used by communist revolution in 1965. Till now, this song is prohibited by government, coz associated with indonesian's communist. What a pity...

White stripes were so secretive about their marriage and stuff and here we have Dengue Fever showing us that there is no need to act in order to make things go well and harmonious. You can tell by their communication both relationships must be pretty healthy.

Haha. I think the one who has idea of this name is smart. He/she combined the biology, geography, and music. It has clear correlation. This fever is an annual illness in such a tropical country as Cambodia and responsible of many dead toll. Oh and also try to sing it (Gendjer-gendjer) in Indonesia and you could be one of the victim.

Nickelback is hardly the "worst band ever." If they truly were, then they would never have got a record deal and later have a shitload of hits making them multi-millionaires. Their music may be derivative, but so are many many other bands. Look at AC/DC. They are hugely derivative, yet are known as one of the best bands ever. It's all perspective.
