Shapovalov is flashy and can hit some incredible shots but at the same time he is so inconsistent and can lose to anyone. I swear the ATP will become like the Wta. There won't be any champions any the future
Amazing how far they both got. They could have won the tournament. I guess with more experience they'll be unbeatable. Great compilation of amazing shots.
@@parkerbooth6182 Felix is a very technical player, quite athletic and strong ground strokes like Andy Murray. Denis on the other hand, hits very flat shots, especially from his backhand, like Stan. Very attractive game, but too inconsistent sometimes (hitting the ball flat is always riskier than putting more topspin on it)
@@felipemaldonado8028 Flat backhand? I would not say so, on his average top spin rates there is a 7 RPS difference between his forhand and his backhand, his backhand being around 45 RPS and more in most matches. Federer hits a backhand of around 38 RPS same for Novak which both much flatter then Shapovalov. Federer and Shapovalov has the same spin rates around 49 RPS on their forhands. FAA has a slight lower spin rate on both shots then Denis, the backhand being the biggest difference (although small), at 42 RPS compared to 45 RPS.
I haven't seen much of Felix to be honest. From the highlights though, one thing that strikes me about both of them is their ability to play blistering forehands and backhands whilst at the same have good hands and a soft touch. They both seem to be very able at the net. This is one thing which separates them from many other players out there. I would say Felix has even more potential because he seems to generate power more easily than Shapo. Shapo seems to put a lot of effort into each shot, something which may prove to be tough on his body in the longer-term. I wish them the best.
Both Felix and Denis lose with their heads held high, while Zverev and Tsitsipas are sore losers in my opinion, they usually barely want to congratulate their opponents. I think mindset and mentality is what will be separating these next gen players in big title matches in future.
Zverev defends Stuttgart like it's a nothing tournament, gets handled by a qualifier. Tsitsipas loses early in the Netherlands after taking a similar approach. It's why Djokovic has so many admirers: for his first 10 years pro, he'd try and win everything. There's a reason he and Nadal combine for over 60 Masters 500 and 1000 titles.
With so many rising youngsters, I wonder which ones will stay at the top of the game later in their careers. Do you think they’ll be a big 3 during the prime of this next gen? I’m hoping it stays super competitive between the top 10 in the future, not just 3 or 4 players.
The future will be really competitive with a lot of good players imo. Coric, khachanov, Medvedev, tsitsipas, shapovalov, Edmund, auger aliassime, zverev, Thiem, de minaur, tiafoe etc + some lost gen players still around
Michele Gavelli I mean in 4 to 5 years Djokovic could still be competitive, and the young guys now will be more developed. If you look at players like Stanislaw, he didn’t win a slam until late 20s and into his early 30s. It’s crazy to think how competitive the next 4-5 years could be. Not to mention more youngsters coming up too.
Milos Raonic is softly cursing under his breath somewhere. You just know, seeing FAA win that gorgeous 3 set match in Stuttgart, he's at risk of being upended as Canada's premier tennis star. Unless Raonic faces and beats him, there are going to be doubts.
@@maralorca6518 I didn't know talent had a colour. And what about the other talented dark skinned players are they all reincarnations of Arthur Ashe as well ?
there are many other Black players who have come along since Ashe but for some reason Felix reminds me more of Arthur. Maybe because he is lanky and cool. Noah and the other French have the flair but Felix has that calm cool manner. Mal Washington , James Blake and Tiafoe are all intelligent heirs of the Ashe legacy. I hope one can break threw and win a slam but like Arthur they are playing in a Golden Age of tennis.
@@sammiecleveland4258 Why put him in this tiny reduced box, something tells me that it is not how he sees himself, I will even speculate that his idols and role models are not who you associate him with. Unfortunately the media will play into that same group identity reductionist game and this is really not helpful. He reminds me of Nadal in some areas of his game and Djokovic in other areas. He definitely has many of the traits associated with the big four. As for comparing him with Arthur Ashe, only the skin colour justifies that and that's not right.
Auger Aliassime is like Nadal in that he is in attackmode very frequently, and he gets these crazy shots in. And Shapovalov is like Djokovic in that he has long rallies to win a point, and gets crazy shots in by the end.
Very good list! Most on this comments feed say felix is like Nadal, but he’s way more similar to Novak. Hurcakz is exactly like Murray, have to remind myself it’s not him... but, who is Tiafoe similar to? Who is Zverev similar to? Who is Coric similar to?
BRILLIANT YOUNG WARRIORS!!!!! BOTH REMIND ME A LIL OF NADAL & NOLE,VERY SCRAPPY,OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE & OFFENSIVE!!! THEY SAY WIMPY FEDS THERE IDOL BUT PLAY NOTHING LIKE HIM LOL!!!!
dude are you actually using two players who love federer as a way to hate on federer? Lmao grasping at straws these days. Enjoy the final tomorrow, wimpy fed gets to play while djoko and nadal stay home (still love em both tho but you know)
Zverev: How many 1000 title you got so far boys? Oh wait sorry, 500? *sipping tea Yall nasty, clearly remembered everyone booing on Shapo calling him trash, overrated and more when he played so fluctuatively and a regular 2nd round crashed yet now people back hypin' him up as if its Rogers Cup day once more when Shapo beat Nadal. FAA is literally not on yall watch list until he stormed in Rio and everyone said he's the future of tennis. They're just okay, for now.
About FAA, you didn't have him on your radar maybe, but he's been on every analysts radar since he was 14 years old ! On the other hand your comment about how much they've won so far will only be relevant in 2 to 5 years from now. If you look at all the talent, i think even Tsitsipas is a better player then Zverev, wait a little longer. It's palpable on Tsitsipas and on FAA side.
@bliss shiva fighting spirit, baseline running passes these qualities are a bit similar to rafa. not exactly the same playstyle tho. we'll see soon what he does in this upcoming clay season.
The only specific similarity I see with Nadal could be his backhand, he even has the same weaknesses on that side. But the rest of his game have is quite different. If you're thinking about court coverage, well, many other players cover the court as well, like Novak. And the forehand is no where near Nadal's, Felix's serve is way better, I would also say Felix plays with more variety then just killing you physically.
@@vlwvwzds i think he has a bit of nadal's mentality n personality. the big 4 are not same in terms of mentality or personality. i'd say from the big 4 felix is more nadal or murray mold. also i consider felix mentally stronger than shapo, tsitsi, sasha, tiafoe etc. di minuer is another mentally tough player.
