We released a new resource for our fans of DENIX replicas. They often ask us to develop replicas of more dynamic and realistic weapons.
We work hard to achieve this and we always preserve the safety of replicas that are 100% harmless. Our replicas have mechanisms that make the experience more dynamic and real, but this entails that our fans try to personalize and customize them by making them their own. Enjoying their replicas and the experience with their stories.
You already know that in DENIX we strongly discourage the manipulation of our models to modify or alter both their appearance and their functionality. And we decline any responsibility for the result of the changes made by the customer in any of our original models.
But many of you do it and you ask us how to mount or dismantle our weapons. We think that this video tutorial can help you. And so become experts among the fans of our historical weapons replicas.
Hope you enjoy it.

I don't really understand why there is no market for actually good replicas. Don't mean to hate on Denix but these things will only impress someone who has never held a real gun before. Not sure why they can't make weapons from the same materials and quality as the original but without the ability to fire. Just make the whole thing from actual steel, machine it properly and give it a nice blue finish. Rework the insides so it doesn't pick up cartridges, just cocks the 'bolt' which would be a large piece of steel that can travel back and forth within the inside of the 'gun', be locked into place upon pulling it all the way back and released when a trigger is pulled. The barrel could be a solid piece of metal with hollowed out bits on both ends to make it appear as if it goes all the way thru. Naturally, something like this would be expensive but they could just take orders and requests for different weapons and only create them after someone has already paid. I think a lot of people would go for it if they knew it was available.

These replicas are meant for collecting and such. Materials are obviously cheap due to expenses

A replica made like you explained would easily be a $2,000 item once finished, lol

@@Dixielinemuzik Yeah, if not more. Gunsmiths could do this in their spare time seeing as they would already have a lave and other large/expensive tools needed to create such an item. I don't know if America is the best market for this, however. Such 'replicas' already exist of hard to get and expensive firearms such as the FG-42, but they are basically just semi-auto guns made to look like the original. Americans that are into historic guns still typically prefer to have something that can shoot. This also comes at a cost to authenticity seeing as these guns need to be streamlined for mass-production to an extent, just like airsoft or these replicas. This will inevitably result in them differing from the original gun in quite a few ways. I think that someone should commit to creating these 'as realistic as possible' replicas and see how many people will buy them. I predict they will be most popular in countries like the UK where people don't have access to guns like the Thompson but would like to have what is basically a really expensive model for display or to tinker with. People spend thousands on model cars so why not guns? Only issues I can imagine is that some countries may have laws that would prevent the manufacture of a model gun which has some semblance of a bolt, barrel and magazine because it can 'easily be altered' to accept real ammunition. I notice Denix uses brittle materials in their replicas for this reason among others, so that their models could never withstand the pressure of a round going off inside of it.

As someone who collects denix models along as a competition shooter I say, nobody wants to spend that much money on something like that when they can get a real gun for that price.

It's actually illegal in most European countries to produce replicas from steel, in order to prevent them from being converted into real firearms.

Does the Denix 20 round mag from the Military model Tommy gun fit in this version of the Tommy Gun?

I heard that the US and British Armies didnt use the Drum Mag
@jmimbles8939
@jmimbles8939 5 лет назад
The US used the drum mag early on during WWII. They were phased out because they were too heavy when fully loaded and often fell out. not to mention the fact that they were quite expensive to produce en-mass compared to the stick mag.
@Killjoy97_
@Killjoy97_ 5 лет назад
Oddly enough my grandfather used to say he had the drum mag after tommy guns were issued in hellenic army after 1945.
@jmimbles8939
@jmimbles8939 5 лет назад
Fotis Staveris the US phased the drum mag out not long into WW2. It was probably different for other countries post-WW2.

@CH-pv2rz 3 года назад
@@jmimbles8939 The Marines had drums left over from their 1927A1 version that this replica is based on. It was their first issuance with the weapon and they used it in South and Central America prior to WW2... But the Drum magazine took forever to reload. Especially the 100 round version and it was super noisy as the rounds banged around inside the drum while walking with the weapon.
@JamesThomas-gg6il
@JamesThomas-gg6il Год назад
Not true, the drums were used quite a bit. The british commandoes used them as the first mag in a raid then switched to stick mags. Marines tried them in the jungles before amd after the start of the war and found them too heavy, too noisy , and very susceptible to damage. Take a 12 pound thompson and add a 5 pound mag or almost 10 pound hundred round mag and youre at the weight of a fully loaded BAR. Plus carrying more than one is a hassle. You actually have to reach around the drum to get at the grip. Now for a motorized gangster of the era, a whole hell of a lot of firepower to do drive bys with.

The problem with this Thompson replica is the shape of the grips. They're just wrong. The foregrip (under the barrel) is too wide/broad, and the rear grip (by the trigger) is too narrow...it's actually misshapen. I can't believe that designers at Denix still haven't picked up on this. It's as plain as day that they're the wrong shapes. I won't buy this replica until Denix corrects these glaring errors. Everything else looks fine.
