Without a doubt the greatest footballing genius the world has ever seen. Dennis is an absolute architect of space. 4mn of beautiful through ball. • Dennis Bergkamp - 3 To...
@@gronz I also love how at 2:43 Bergkamp waits to pass to van Persie, and by doing so, making van Persie realise he can get a better position to receive the ball.
Its so funny how the strikers were used to timing runs and doing the work bergkamp did all that for you just tap the ball into the net now i believe when henry say he was his best team mate 😂 👍 😂 👍 😂 👍 😂 👍 just rediculous how easy as a striker was playing along db10 and he was atriker on top of that
For me he is the most intelligent player ever in terms of vision and anticipation in the game. A perfect playmaker with probably the best first touch. Amazing player to watch. DB 10
I genuinely forgot how amazing bergkamps passing was!!! I always say how amazing he was in front of goal but can’t believe I forgot his passing was amazing!!!
I was at a game, against Bolton I think, where we thumped them 5 nil. Someone scored a hat-trick, but Bergkamp set up all the goals and won man of the match. Genius, technically brilliant.
@@ezandman6804 van basten is a legend no doubt but technique wise no one can touch bergkamp i speak about technique only ronaldinho can be compared to him
I literally shake my head when you see teams trying to be clever and double or triple marking him under pressure and he just takes all of them out the game and releases an unseen runner with an unexpected pass Unreeeeaaal
He did not win any World cup or the Golden ball, but taught so much to world champions from two different countries. Henry, Fabregas, Pires, Petit and Viera would never be themselves without Dennis. He actually was even bigger mastermind than his early mentor Johan. I believe Dennis could make a unique manager as well
The one that I still don't get until now is his pass to Vieira against Leicester City. I had to rewind the video again and again and still don't get it how both of them made it work. I mean, the pattern of their movements are so weird, unpredictable. They are 4-5 Leicester players guarding Bergkamp and suddenly Vieira popped up from nowhere. It's just incredible. It's magic.
I am about the same age as Bergkamp and lived near the old Ajax-stadium "De Meer". I often went to see an Ajax-training, which was quite laid-back at that time. Remember one time in winter as the players switched fields, I was just walking together with them as one of them kicked a ball. It landed on a ditch that was frozen and Dennis asked me to get it for him. I got on the ice, grabbed the ball and handed it to him. It made my day. A couple of days later, I went to see Ajax play against Vitesse, where Dennis made one of his finest goals for Ajax. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZRgvJw81nOM.html (#2 in the list).
What makes him so unplayable is that if you get close you get turned on your ass and taken out the game or bypassed with an immediate first touch ball to a runner But if you stand off him he takes all the time in the world to let the players make even more runs and the defense had no way of knowing which run or angles to prioritize because we’d have about 3 players simultaneously running and you couldn’t tell who bergkamp would choose to release Then when you look at the quality of pass, he was probably the best passer of all time. It’s not just about seeing everything before it happened, but also it’s all about the way the ball quickly bypass the opposition then magically slows down into the runners stride for a first touch finish. MAGIC and genius equivalent of any classical painter, musician or scientist, just in a different discipline
The press was not existing back then , when i was young i used to appreciate those type of player's a lot more , nowadays you don't have the space and the time to think and execute those brilliant passes .
Simular to Zinedine Zidane. Thierry Henry said the best human being he ever played football with was Dennis Bergkamp. But he said Zidane and Messi were not human they were a different category.
Once upon a time, Premier League was enjoyful. I would watch matches by laughing out loud. It was magic. At the point we came, we intermented Barcelona's tiki taka at last. We need to see players combining intellegence, knowledge and physical capability.
Brilliant assist? Yes! But it is also possible because he have the best teamates too. 1 fighter type forward that always search for the open space, 1 type of false 9 that pull the defender away and another one that keep their position for the rebound. This is actually team play
just want to share a funny story about Bergkamp. recently my cousin (who's just 15 if im not mistaken) asked me :"how great was Bergkamp compare to Beckham?" apparently he thought Bergkamp was inferior to beckham because he is not that famous. i said "kid, just go watch some youtube videos about those two and you will know how silly is your question!" He then apologized to me for asking such ridiculous question. LOL
Another story. Was talking to a guy in my job whose 19 and who s playing futsal dont know about him. He dont even know baggio batistuta ... i told him go to yourube too.
It wasn't just the fact that he seemed to be able to see through walls and around corners, but the weight and angle of the through balls were just other-worldly. Strikers very rarely had to even break stride. What a player the non-flying Dutchman was. Thank you Dennis; it really was a 'Bergkamp Wonderland' while you were a Gunner.
He made Wright, Anelka, Henry, Ljungberg score more goals. Arsenal's success came when he arrived in the team, and left when he retired. A one in a lifetime player, there's no such player in football today.
I was a teen when he was at his peak and a commercial Dutch tv channel was already broadcasting premiere league back then and I watched every Arsenal game just for Dennis.
We've had creative midfielders to rival the creativity & elegance of Bergkamp (Zidane, Pirlo, De Bruyne) but I don't think I remember a striker as creative as Bergkamp in football history.
Tell me about it bro. Football lost it's soul as time went on and to be honest I watched a bit of it even though I was really young. A wise man once said: "The game's gone mate, the game's gone."
i instinctively keep shaking my head when watching this video..those passes are so unreal! it's like a remote-controlled ball that bend to direction he wanted.. pure class!
From the camera angle such passes look impossible , but when you are in the passers position they look less so. Still they are absolutely amazing and would take an absolute genius to make such passes
