Poor earl. His break caused him the match. That's always been his issue. He can run the balls quick, but when he breaks dry its downhill for him. Luckily he kept getting chances on this match.

A guy at the pool room here will eat 75 cent chips while you are shooting, the whole time. An hour later he will still be crunching the bag. So childish and I have not played him since. He does it to other players though.
What the hell does that have to do with sit ups? Go look at his calves. Like rocks. Earl runs alot too.. His gutt in clothes doesn't tell the whole story. Big diaphragm and strong abs and some fat = big stomach. With all due respect sir, Earl would whip your ass.
These 2 commentating this match are embassing showing so much prejudiced against Earl Strickland when neither them or car salesman Hatch could pack Earl's sticks to a practice session.
You obviously don’t know shit about exercise and nutrition. Dieting is key to slimming down. You can do 1000 sit ups a day but if your caloric intake is greater than your expenditure you’re not toning anything. Also, pretty sure earl hasn’t done 700 sit ups in total in his life. 😂
This was a great match. Not sure why this music was blasting in the background while these great players are trying to concentrate and play their best?? Makes no sense.
Lol I didn't like him at first but he has grown on me. He is always pissed about something. At least he keeps the game entertaining. I really like when he is one of the commentators. He says some funny shit.
Is this guy for real, he can get penalized for touching the ball??? IT"S A SCRATCH! Hey, and how about this crowd, well, they're in Las Vegas... They're probably waiting for some convention, or the magic show and needed a place to wait. They definitely know jack about the pool, both these guys made great shots at one time or another, and not a peep.
I do not see how these stupid plastic racks are allowed in professional billiards! Look at 12:48 and it is obvious, that rack altered the motion of the 9 ball. There is seldom a break where a balls trajectory is not altered by this think. Ban them.

What difference does it make if Earl touched the ball or not. It would be a foul anyway and Earl is Earl. He is Earl the Pearl. He means nothing by it. The referee did good, the commentator did bad in making that remark.
I find it very amusing that the statement that Earl wants to protect the purity of the game, this is hilarious,he never has been nothing ever in pool because he cant shut his freaking mouth should be kicked out of the Hall of fame
I mean... Yeah you are not supoused to touch a moving ball, but come on, its the 2 times WC of 9 ball, and the best to ever do it at 9 ball, just deal with it and let him do w/e he pleases as long as it doesnt affect the other players game

@John Doe oh yea COUGHING his way through back, with some break bs as well, in a fixed asian bar game, pretty much. ill stick with million man Earl in 9 ball (probably 10 ball too if it was played in his prime, but then again Earl's not much seen in other games, being the best shooter ever I can't see how he wouldn't dominate games like Straight Pool etc if he wanted and it was more popular). Reyes is definitely the greatest to hold a cue stick, in general, tough definitely, despite making roosters fight in his backyard lol

It’s embarrassing to watch a player like Hatch get lucky and beat someone so superior to him in every aspect of the game. Hatch played like a decent APA league player in this match. Unforced errors, poor positioning, weak shotmaking…definitely not the performance expected of a professional player.
Hatch should of won an hour ago...Earle should of got smoked!!! A rusty hatch that doesn't play anymore can beat earle...and Earle playing in the 2022 mosconi cup??? Wtf!!! Give me hatch or Justin Bergman over earle....Jeremy Jones is no coach!!!
The announcers, especially Jim are rude. They almost were mocking Earl. What he needs to do or wear on his wrlst to be comfortable shooting is his business!!!Saying that he's retreating into his shell? WTF? I think they should keep opinions like that to themselves or don't do the commentary!!! ...and I know this was 2019, but it is archived here on You Tube. Strickland deserves respect.... no more, no less.
You can tell alot about a person who thinks a person deserves respect.. when they give absolutely none and is the most ignorant acting and most disrespectful player ever to live..the commentators know this and don't try to hide it.. period.

I really do wonder what ever would Earl do if pool didnt exist. Suicidal Car Salesmen perhaps? Running some mom n pop corner store maybe.. Pool is his world, Mind Body and Soul. I can see him playing cards. I'm a high level pool player and I love playing poker. I also enjoy fishing. And Pool is pretty much my world as well.
