I just received this turntable and I love it. I’ve had a lot of vintage equipment in the past, including vintage Denon, and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by the build quality and the sound quality. Also TTL is the best. Happy we purchased from them. Great support , A++++.
Jimmy, how did you decide on the Denon? I have had so much trouble deciding between this Denon 400c the AT-LPW50, and the Fluance RT85. I just can’t decide.
@@lewisjones3345 I’ve owned a few turn tables in the past. The best one was a Denon DP-45f so I was familiar with Denon quality. I also read a lot of reviews before purchasing. I should tell you I had a new Pro-Ject T-1 right before this one. I ended up returning it. The Denon is far superior. I don’t know if this matters to you or not but the Denon turns off automatically at the end of the record if you want it to. There’s a switch on the back of the turntable that gives you the option.
I received this tt and it sounds as great as it looks! The only problem, it wouldn't auto stop, boohoo, had to return. Can't wait to get new one. I had been using the a/t bt60..😅 and although I only listened to side one of Phil Collins original press NO Jacket Required, oh my God what a difference in sound! This DP400 ROCKS!
It is a wonderful turntable for the price, very good sound and no motor hum noise. I changed the stylus with an Ortofone Stylus 20 and wow what a good sound.
The only thing I don't like is the dust cover. I do like that it's an all aluminium chassis. I also like that it has output jacks rather than wired cables. The S shaped tonearm looks nice. I like to have a dust cover on when I'm playing a record though.
@@kingchakazulu7762 okay cool. I was only going off what their website was stating. I'll be sticking with my DP300F anyway due to the lack of a hinged dust cover on these newer models. Even with the couple of upgrades, no lid is a big drawback for me.
@@gavinyoung7085 , Yeah no website will mention that their product is mostly plastic, that would be very bad for business... The dust cover is not functional for record play back and barely adequate for displaying an album cover. With that being said, it really is a beautiful and very capable table.
WoW! I'm listening to this on my tablet and I could hear every word he said just fine! The background music was soft and not overbearing. I think people in general these days just like to complain about everything! That's exactly why I don't post RU-vid videos. I don't have the tolerance for it!
They had tremendous success with straight tonearms ( the type with angle designed into the head shell like the expensive turntables. Instead they go with the very heavy S-type, and yes this will affect the types of cartridges that need a light tonearm to perform the best.
So if you use the built-in phon preamp, where do you connect the ground cable? Your amp won't have a post for this purpose (since it doesn't have a phono input/preamp built in) in this case.
Ask yourself if having digital rips of your vinyl is important to you. If yes then go for the Denon but if not a whole new world will open up to you for the price point of those 2 turntables. I myself am undecided between the Pro-ject DC and Rega Planar 1
@@ranotuitam i prefer the straight tonearm to the curved and The singular buttons for speed control instead of a knob. I dont really think the features of usb recording justifies the Price either. But if you want the 450 for that feature i would say go for it. Is this your first turntable?
@@PSNGormond i had the DP 300. It sounded really good with a cartridge change and I loved the automatic aspect but god the mechanical noises started to annoy me!
The stock cartridge is garbage. Replace immediately . I chose the ortofon bronze much better. For the money there’s better out there. The cover is not great but I get it it’s also a record stand. . The tone arm is not fluid at all it kinda drops no matter how you balance . Overall it not total crap. But I think it’s a bit overpriced. When you spend over 1200 on a turntable you’ll see the differences. Sound is decent once upgraded.
