Dental crown construction for a single tooth is shown in the video. Dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that surrounds the tooth from all sides, fully adapting to the damaged tooth (weak, broken or decayed tooth) underneath.
Dental crown is the process of reducing and covering the teeth that are broken due to caries or trauma, or teeth that have excessive material loss due to any other reason. Dentists remove a small amount of enamel for a proper fit before bonding new crown in place. Dental crowns can be made of porcelain or zirconium. Depending on the material they are made of, they can be called zirconium teeth or porcelain teeth.
Porcelain and zirconium are ideal materials to capture the light transmittance of natural teeth and make more aesthetic teeth. It is the crown material that best imitates the color of the patient's existing natural teeth.
