Every dental plan I have seen costs more in premiums than I have ever spent in one year at the dentist. Then they limit benefits to not much more than you pay in premiums. So they aren't much better than a dental savings plan. Most years all I need is a cleaning for, I think it's 70 bucks. Every four or five years I might need a filling, or one replaced, 125 bucks. For me it seems to make more sense to just put the money I would pay in premiums into a dental savings account.

Everyone's dental needs and budgets are different. These types of plans may be great for some and not needed as much for others. All just depends on each person's individual situation.😊

It’s supposed to be coming up for a vote again this November…..to add dental, vision, and hearing to original Medicare. Let’s hope it passes this time!

Yeah, good luck with that. Thanks Joe Manchin. We just need a couple more Democrats in the Senate and hold the House and we would have it. Any senior on Medicare not voting for Democrats is voting against expansion plain and simple.

Hi, no one has helped me yet? I guess there is no answer. I am a youthful looking 66-year-old Italian man I keep in shape and keep up on my appearance. I am on Medicare. I have not been to a dentist in 10 years all the work I previously had done! a three or four tooth bridge as they also grinded good teeth to make the bridge fit properly? Or so I was told? I also had crowns and whitening. They told me the bridge they would last 8 to 10 years and they were correct. They fell out and I could do nothing. Now I also have a slight gap in the middle of my teeth. I had a beaming smile, but I no longer smile, because I do not like the gap, and put a little piece of white napkin or white bubblegum behind the gap and it looks great in pictures. There has to be some simpler way for them to fill the gap in also. Anyway, I love Medicare, but I can’t deal with these years of having no dental care😔 I also would like eyecare and hearing. Dental prices are outrageous. I don’t understand why? I’m a 66-year-old man. On SSD, which is about to change to regular social security soon. I had a great marriage for 35 years, and we had a heartbreaking loss of our daughter and she knew our marriage was on the rocks one of the last things she said to me was dad if you and mom can’t make it work! go out there and you can find someone nice you will have no problem! losing her and those words of encouragement that once made me smile. are now breaking my heart. and I would like to go out and possibly meet someone nice but my teeth are bothering me basically the back teeth and the gap. My teeth shifted the only thing keeping my teeth going I believe is the mouthwash act. Because of the Act a dentist recommended it to me.thank God. I’m looking through dental plans and it’s hopeless. What I’m reading is they don’t help much at all? Could someone please help me? someone told me Delta Dental another friend told me Ameritas and Sprint. But I read reviews and none of them had any good client reviews except one review with sprint. Please help me. I’m in my golden years now and I need help with my teeth and I just do not have thousands of dollars. If anyone could help with any Ideas or Dental Plans please let me know. thank you ❤. And God Bless you all!

My friend's mother is turning 65 can she get a medigap plan even though she has Alzheimer's
@BoomerBenefits
@BoomerBenefits 3 года назад
Hi Milton - The best time to enroll in a Medigap plan is during her 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment window. This 6-month window begins on the day her Part B becomes effective. When she applies for a Medigap plan during this time, she will not be asked health questions. However, if she applies for a plan outside her Medigap Open Enrollment, she will likely be subject to underwriting. If she cannot pass the health questions, she can either be denied, or be charged a higher premium. Please let her know she can give us a call at 817-249-8600 and we can help assist her!

Are there catastrophic dental insurance plans? These would pay for something like dental implants or other high ticket items and not pay for routine preventive care. Or have a high deductible... thanks, love your videos.
@BoomerBenefits
@BoomerBenefits 5 лет назад
HI Mark, not to our knowledge, although there are plans that you can buy with higher annual maximums that will pay more out each year. For example, Spirit Dental has one with a $5000 annual maximum and it looks like maybe a rider for implants. These will likely cost more though than regular dental insurance: www.spiritdental.com/5000-annual-maximums
@archiestanton2767
@archiestanton2767 4 года назад
@@BoomerBenefits Look carefully into Spirit, Danielle. Sure, they advertise $5000 maximum but only $600 can be used in total a year, for major procedures; ie. crowns, implants, root canals (what Boomers generally need most.) And where I live, the premiums run $536 using Spirit's in network dentists, and $812 using out of network dentists. Add to that, a required $100 yearly out of your pocket deductible and a $25 membership fee (both amounts which you must pay BEFORE Spirit starts covering anything.) Can you provide names of dental firms in option #1 you mentioned? In Chicago, the entire implant procedure (excluding pulling the old tooth) runs around $3000-$6000, for a single tooth. ($ alert: In my experience, oral surgeons seem to want the most... $5000 for everything but the crown.) If you use an oral surgeon, the crown is a separate charge & procedure, your dentist will attend to...usually around another $600-$1000.

Folks please never vote for any Candidate who does not support improvements to Medicare and the ACA. Health Care for ALL must be our goal - to include all our important body parts for Seniors - not just kids. Call the FEDERAL Marketplace Staff to evaluate how much your subsidy will be if you are under 65. MANY get their Health Insurance FREE that way by qualifying for Medicaid. Some Republican States just don't care enough to improve Medicaid there - STOP voting for those people. Dems WANT to help our country be healthy, housed and secure - with self-determination. Stronger majorities are required o do it.
@alansach8437
@alansach8437 2 года назад
It never ceases to amaze me how many seniors (and others) vote against their own interests. You want dental, vision and hearing included in original Medicare? Vote like it! Democrats are just a couple of votes away from doing that, yet polls show that we will likely hand over the House, and possibly the Senate to Republicans who don't care if seniors have this coverage, and we can kiss it goodbye. Your vote matters.

@@BoomerBenefits 😁 👍🦷💟🦷 That's the truth! I'm sick to my stomach over what's happening with my mother, she's 84, has no insurance just went to a dentist, had x-rays. She needs 12 teeth pulled and that's $4,000 ! then the false teeth will cost close to $4,000! Isn't that extremely expensive?? The visits are $185. They're going along with this price, saying that the procedures already been started I said no it isn't!! Can't she get a price elsewhere and those x-rays are hers (or dental College) my parents are poor. my mother said She can't it's already started, I said No the procedure hasn't begun, just exam and X-rays. Am I right??? Another question, Can she get Insurance and have work done right away or is there a waiting period? Please help answer, they're piss-poor and I can't help out 🦷😭

I will be turning 65 soon. now I have dental insurance through my husband's insurance which will be until he turns 65 in 3 years. is there a penalty for not getting dental insurance with Medicare in the initial enrollment period, if I would wait for 3 years to get it? thank you
@kevinmontgomery1383
@kevinmontgomery1383 3 года назад
Pat I am also turning 65 soon and I have not seen anything about a penalty for late enrollment for dental! There are a lot of rules that you have to ask the right questions about. My wife and I have insurance until our 70th Birthday. Your insurance has to be from your current employer. She had to retire early for health reasons, so that doesn't count. I have to get A,B and D in the seven month window, or be penalized. I was told if you are on Social Security, A and B will automatically come out of your Monthly direct deposit. If I understand correctly, you don't get to pick when it starts!
@BoomerBenefits
@BoomerBenefits Год назад
Hi Pat- no there is no penalty for not getting dental insurance. Original Medicare does not provide coverage for routine dental, vision, and hearing services. You can look into dental plan options at any time! Here is more information: boomerbenefits.com/dental-insurance/
