Thank you for all the tips. Awesome video at my previous job. I worked at I would get in so much trouble if any part of the tooth crown surface was cut off or if it was even slightly not exact how they wanted it. I felt very stressed all the time because I was constantly having to retake my x-rays, it wasn’t actually the Doctor Who gave me a hard time rather the office manager something to do with the insurance companies. This became one of the most stressful part of my job as a dental assistant, because I always felt nervous taking the x-rays.
It’s super interesting you’re using a round headed collimator! These have been fully phased out in Europe as they deliver an increased dose and broader field of rays that never actually reach the sensor so are useless and increase patient risk. Is it common practice for these to be used still in America?
@@dominiquecox2916 That’s so interesting! Here the collimator is the exact same size and shape as a size 2 film, can make getting the film completely perfect a bit difficult as it has to be completely lined up but I believe it produces about 40% less radiation than a round collimator for the same result! I would’ve thought these were common practice worldwide now!
Im new and struggle with getting the lower anterior xray. I’ve noticed you have the patient holding the rin in place. I wanna try this. Should I tell the patient to apply pressure and hold it in place after I position the sensor? Thanks so much in advance !
Hi: Could you make an updated video about the different types of fluoride in toothpastes (Ex. stannous fluoride) & other additives for gum health, tartar control, whitening, etc.? Also - what % or concentration of fluoride should we look for in toothpaste? TY
How much do you think I should get paid as a DA (working on my RDA) get paid for avg 6 minutes FMXs in cali currently getting $18 less the fast food workers
because of the pandemic infection control department in our hospital prohibits us to use rinn xray holders unless every patient would be provided with a set. so we went on taking xrays with just the sensor and the patient just holding the sensor. I mean it was tough..
This video is amazing! Although I saw that your patient was holding the film holder for you, which I was told that was not good- what are your thoughts?
I always learned in school that the clinician should never hold it for the patient -- but it's okay for the patient to hold it themself if it's needed to capture a diagnostic image. I'm definitely about to look into this further -- to see if there's any research about it. Thank you!!
we put barriers on everything we can! and we also use a disinfectant on everything else that was touched after as well! here's my sterilization/disinfection/sanitization video -- hope this helps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MbEmFGIkoZU.html
Going to be a RDH in may! Do you have any tips with taking the anterior PA’s and getting all of the premolars in the BW’s? It is always really tough to get them with the digital sensors!
congrats on soon-to-be-RDH! totally all PAs can be difficult with digital sensors but over time it gets easier! here is my tips&tricks video for taking x-rays hope this helps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hM-wXS6omtE.html
Using the NOMAD Handheld X-ray System is the the best way to take radiographs!! Fast, easy and protects the operator from direct and scatter radiation.
