Packers should have won made too many mistakes Elway really didnt play well Davis carried the whole team and Farve played reckless for some reason I think Holmgrem was already thinking about leaving Green bay. The hit on Robert Brooks total head hunter shot should have been 1 and goal Packers and that would have been interesting
@@petelund3248 very interesting and they still lost. I think that hit on Brooks is a big deal totally 1st and goal and that guy would have been ejected
You wanna know why the media is stupid? It's because they thought the packers were just this team with no flaws whatsoever, and that would be 19-0. That bubble bursted after week 2. The 97 packers in my opinion are just overrated in many areas, but people don't remember that "because they won a super bowl, and they're an nfc team" there were major red flags, and yet you all ignored them
Really enjoyed this game, seemed that Darrien Gordon was truly a hit or miss player. He played terrible in the regular season against the Steelers, redeemed himself a little in the AFC championship, then had the would be fumble but recovered it himself. The following year he played superbly in the AFC Championship and the Super Bowl with 2 Ints in each.
The Packers were probably the better team that season but they were too cocky and didn't respect the Broncos. At one point in this game after the Packers fell behind, Eugene Robinson - who would also lose to the Broncos in SB 33 - was caught on mic telling his team "We're playing the Indianapolis Colts right now! This team isn't better than us, they're not even good!" (The Colts were the worst team in the league that year)
Green Bay actually lost to the Colts that year 41-38 in week 12. It was the Colts' first win. Robinson was reminding his team about their complacency that cost them a win earlier in the season against an inferior opponent; he was wrong about the Broncos being inferior. Obviously what he said is still highly insulting and was his second most embarrassing Super Bowl moment, but this gives it a little context. That Colts-Packers game had another, bigger impact on Super Bowl XXXII. With the game tied at 38, the Colts got the ball with about five minutes remaining. They reached Green Bay's 1 yard line with 1:40 left in the game and proceeded to take three straight knees to run the clock down to 3 seconds before kicking the game winning field goal, denying Favre a chance to respond. This likely had a huge impact on Holmgren's decision to let Denver score their final touchdown to give the offense a shot to tie.
