Denver is Cutting Their Police Budget as Crime Rises Thanks to Spending on Migrants

Imagine if this money was spent for homeless vets, mental health, and child hunger for American citizens.

People need to wake up. This is happening in every state.

iIt is hard for me to believe that we are cutting services, that we pay for in taxes, to help illegals.

Poor leadership in government makes for lawlessness.

This is downright shameful. Most of these Council people know the crime will likely increase in the poor areas, where most of them don’t live or visit. The “Migrants” are more important to them than their own citizens. Aurora is already a dump of a place. Cutting the police and fire departments budgets are just horrendous. If approved, this will not end well.

I live in Aurora. This problem is coming to Greeley. A group of illegal immigrants were bussed to a small Colorado mountain town, a population of 300 people. There are no jobs in those mountain towns! Denver’s Mayor tried to send illegals to Monument, population 10,000. The Mayor there said he’s not spending money to take care of the illegals. They don’t have any resources. The Mayor will be sending some your to other parts. I think CO. Springs was another destination. More people are coming into this country across those borders everyday! Denver is a sanctuary city. This problem will so will into other neighboring cities and states. It’s coming to a neighborhood near you, except for the rich!

Denver invited 7 billion random people and they can't even handle a few hundred thousand. It would be like inviting your entire state to a house party and when a few thousand show up all you have is a 3 pack of mountain dew and half a bag of Doritos.

They are likely already spending much more than that right now.

Gov Polis also pushed and signed over 100 bills towards programs including to support illegal migrants to fund them all is from TABOR as this was the plan B when Coloradans voted down the previous bill Proposition HH to curb and change TABOR refunds as many believed that would have eliminated TABOR refunds to fund other programs while to only provide short term relief. Polis was very disappointed that Proposition HH didn't pass and then plan B was done and the only way for Coloradans will get a refund is if the surplus reaches a certain amount without telling us what amount that qualifies?! Billions will be generated that will fund all those programs and fund all illegal migrants in Colorado indefinitely.

The best way to ruin things is to let government run things.

It's really the same situation in many cities across Canada. They're definitely not putting these individuals in fleabag motels they're putting them in very nice and expensive accommodations. Then, in many situations, they are given more money than an average person on disability would receive, on a monthly basis. This is my opinion, many cities have abandoned Schools, Hospitals and Churches. Many with Electricity Water Heat and AC, still turned on, so why can't these buildings be converted into shelters.
