Sure they're the reigning champs, but reigning champs don't get locked up by Naz Reid(Nikola Jokic) and reigning champs don't go 3-18 when they thrive under pressure (Jamal Murray). Not to mention he had an injury too. You can't tell me that it didn't look hopeless for the Nuggets after game 2, because it did. They're the reigning champions yet they got held to 80 points only and got blown out by 30-40 points. Sure, it's basketball, blowouts happen, but to the reigning champions? And in the playoffs? Idc what anyone says, but by that point I had wolves in 6. Obviously the Nuggets weren't gonna get swept, but you can't blame the people that thought that.

Easy to win when the refs effectively nullified your opponent's ability to play defense. Early foul trouble resulted in tons of open looks for Denver. And that early foul trouble resulted from the refs being inconsistent and reffing like it's the regular season again, no longer allowing physical D like they usually do all playoffs so far.

Believe bro, these boys are now awake. Watching them play Game 3 and I can tell something changed with them. They're actually hustling. Contesting every shots, Jokic actually playing defense and setting proper screens. They were patient on offense and actually taking proper care of the ball. Even Murray has been forcing shots less. There's actual ball movement and not just Jokic and Murray trying to play their own game. I believe they're back.

They collapsed mentally in game 2, the way game was officiating was a big part of that, and they felt too much pressure on the home court after losing game 1. Resting their injuries for 4 days, and playing on the road really helped them find their game again.

Of course they looked comfortable. The refs completely F'ed the Wolves by switching up how they ref mid-series, resulting in an insane number of fouls on the Wolves in the first half. They were too afraid to play any D the rest of the game for fear of fouling out, resulting in tons of open uncontested shots for the Nuggets. This was clearly on purpose to extend the series. You don't accidentally change the ref style that drastically mid-series without any warning.

Mike Malone dropped the ball in Denver. He played this game with 13 players instead of 8 or 9. Every body counts, every minute counts. Plus the refs got the instructions to be normal in this game. It's easy to be "the best defense in the league" when the referees are oblivious to obvious fouls that no one(but the Lakers)in these playoffs can get away with.

i was thinking...they had like 3-4 days to readjust their game. that helped a lot, at first they were shocked by how timberwolves are playing, and the matchups were kinda awkward. playing in transition and faster pace with extra passes instead of a pick and roll is gonna win against the double center line up. the defense were scrambling and breaking their ankles trying to catch up, it was simply amazing.

Bro, the free throw differential heavily favors the Nuggets the first 2 games, not the Wolves. Ant got a T for looking at a defender, while Malone got nothing for literally running onto the court and screaming in the refs face (normally an ejection). Murray got nothing for making money signs at refs, throwing a towel and heat pad onto the court during play. You cannot POSSIBLY think the refs are anything but on your side with all that combined with a heavy free throw advantage those first 2 games. Game 3 was borderline insane how much the refs favored you and threatens to harm the leagues reputation with the way the reffing completely changed mid-series from physical ball to weaker than regular season calls, to strip the Wolves of their ability to play any d at all.

I gotta call this out as borderline LeBron-like behavior to complain about the refs when anyone with a brain can see you're heavily being FAVORED by the league in every possible way. Don't bring yourself down to LeBron-like behavior like this. You guys have a decent team and reputation, don't ruin it.
