Matty performs "SHE LAYS DOWN" for the first time on this special night. As he says in the video, this song is about his Mum, Denise. Throughout the concert he kept mentioning how special this night and this venue were. They've come a long way from playing the clubs in the UK to a handfull of fans . Fans all over the world are just absolutely in awe of their talent.
MAY 2, 2016 Amazing performance by THE 1975! at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver Colorado. The venue was absolutely breathtaking! Denver Colorado is called the mile high city and at times can be difficult to breath if you're not acclimated to the environment because of the elevation. This venue is built on the side of a mountain. I can't believe how energetic and on fire everyone was. They absolutely killed it onstage. 💗 Like so many others, I'm so proud of these boys.

This man is unbelievable. The way he can share his deepest darkest feelings over music in the most beautiful way is astonishing. I don't even have the words to describe the emotions that I feel when listening to this song. I can't imagine how he must feel.

this is my favorite song from iliwys, it always makes me cry everytime i hear it. the tune is sweet & peaceful like a lullaby yet the lyrics are so sad haha

This song makes me weep every-time I hear it. Memories of one of the most nervous, emotional and mentally painful times of my life. Driving around listening to this song just sobbing cos you don’t know what’s happened to your sister and your parents rushed to the other side of the country to her. I feel scared to even know that, that human is still out there and hasn’t been brought to justice kills me on the inside

I was there too. I miss it so much. Sometimes I wish I could go back and live that night again and again. Thank you for recording so many of the songs. This one especially. Do you remember which song Matty told us not to record?

I wasn't at this particular one but usually at concerts Matty asks the audience not to record "Me" :)

Hannah he always asks us not to record ME and that's what he asked us not to record. He has done that for every concert I've seen. I like to record when he talks so I have that part recorded from Denver..it's on my IG. A couple of shows he asked us not to record Falling For You. in Orlando Dec 2014 last gig in America he didn't want Chocolate recorded. I respect their wishes. I personally love recording them because I'm not the type that's going to dance & sing at their shows. I'm old enough to be the boys mum. If they made a statement they no longer want us to record them I would honor that as well as remove my videos from RU-vid. I'm hoping to get a ticket for their July after show lolla. Crazy prices right now. Hoping they go down.

well this wasn't heartbreaking at all nope ;_; i fucking hate that people whooped all the way through, he literally made the point that is was a really hard song for him to play and people are acting like it's sexy or something. Be quiet and respectful.

Jack you're too adorable! You have seen and met the boys more times than I can count! I follow your FB & your RU-vid channel since we exchanged comments on a video a few years back. I'm so proud of them. Matty's voice is better than ever. The girl screaming in the background is someone I met through going to gigs and running into her. She's seen them probably 40 times by now and her license plates say THE1975. There's various pics w the boys from 2014 w them that have circulated. I just love the die hard core fans of these guys.

Lindsey welcome to the awesome fandom of THE 1975. This song is about his Mum's postnatal depression after he was born. His Mum, Denise Welch, has spoken out about the topic. I'm no expert of Denise's life but I've been following her for a while. She's a beautiful woman who Matty absolutely ADORES and LOVES. They are very close. Denise is an English actress. She's a public figure and there are many articles written about her. Google her, she's a very cool lady. She's involved in some wonderful philanthropic causes.
