I'm so happy she took the role, she played it perfectly.

He's in the list of the top 5 most overrated actors of all time. He plays Denzel incredibly well - as he should. He has zero versatility. What it boils down to is you like Denzel's character. He has a massive fan base, thus he pulls in the money, which is why he consistently gets into great movies which is why you think he's a great actor. What you mostly like, are the actual talent behind the scenes - the story writers and the directors.

When you have bills to pay and perhaps a family to feed, you don't get the luxury of "choosing your life" unless you win the lottery or you have a sufficient financial buffer to cover the temporary loss your career switch will inevitably create. "Taking risks" is unironically the best option for those who don't have much to risk because they already have a guarantee to not lose everything, especially in today's world you cling on what little you have very hard and you don't take any chances. There is no such thing as meritocracy, not in a system based on economic growth because it will always revolve around wealth, have and have nots, never the value of the individual itself.
