@KidDynamite500 Only to an extent, I mean other fighters in all divisions have been unifying titles in many divisions and outside of the UK so it's a very limited excuse on that account. Plus he has Haymons money backing. The reality is, Finkel put out a statement after Wilders 30 something win and there was talk of a fight with Klitchko or Povetkin. Finkel stated that the team didn't think Wilder was ready, and said despite being a champion, he is a baby champion and needs time to grow. His team have clearly held him back for a long time, too long. I mean, they have to really early on to an extent and be sensible, but they really took liberties with it too long and that has hurt his credibility maybe it can still be mended now against several top contenders in the future. Also, as much as people say Wilder didn't fight Povetkin because of a failed peds test, this is actually false. His first sample was flagged up, his b sample was actually found to be negative and he was cleared to fight, but Wilder still refused the fight, and Povetkins team actually sued Wilders successfully for 4.something million dollars. Look it up.

Most people hate on his skills and resume and his crazy fans. Wilder the man is actually a pretty cool guy most of the time. But he's gonna have to step up and face Joshua in April if he wants anyone to take him seriously.

boalc I would have no problem with Wilder if he didn’t perpetuate the lie that he is the most feared hw In the world and that he always wanted to fight the best. He wanted an easy career to learn his craft because he started boxing late. I get that but the fact that he can abuse AJ when AJ has the balls to do what Wilder was too scared to do. That is where he goes wrong.

Yeah it's hard to take him as a serious contender after those last 2 fights which got booed throughout. He says he's in the best shape of his life before this fight, but he also said before the Pianeta fight that we could expect to see a heavyweight sugar Ray leonard and anything less wouldn't be good enough lol, so you know. Credit to him for losing so much shape but that kind of abuse on your body can't be completely reversed I don't think. As intriguing as this fight is I'm not sure how many people in the States would pay 80 something dollars PPV based on his last 2 fights. But I think it's being sold on the name and the lineal shit.
