You were just a couple rows in front and to the left of us. We were the mermaid and sailor! Thank you so much for this; I'm 39 years old and have loved these guys ever since I was a kid and they're one of my last bucketlist bands I haven't seen and I spend a lot of time and money on concerts and live music. This was FINALLY my first time seeing them and some dude with a laminate in the lobby gave us these tickets for where we ended up simply because he loved our costumes so much. I tried to record my favorites but also enjoy the live music and be in the moment because I FINALLY got to see them and for once I was in the right place at the right time and the planets aligned for me. Anyway, thanks again I'm definitely saving this one.
I saw them at the Garden in June 2018, first and only time and also tried to record/take pics but was dancing/screaming/singing too much to capture anything meaningful. But the memory of a great show is still fresh in my mind and you're about 15 years younger than I am so don't worry, whatever you didn't record will still be a great memory.
Man, thanks for posting this! It's great quality. I had a great seat in the first row of the balcony just above Martin, but the people around us were asleep. Y'all were a lot more lively and fun down in the front.
i was there and love being able to rewatch the show from a different vantage point. i've seen them 6x and this was the best one yet. DG's voice is right on! and MG - yes! love this band!
my 3rd time seeing them live, first since 90s, and *first concert* ever for my kids, who got into DM unknown to me and raided my CDs. It was a birthday request to go! I am so glad we did this. Utterly fantastic. Saved. We were up high so interesting different view!
I just went to their show last night in Cleveland. It was freaking epic. By far one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. It’s right up there with the 1991 Lollapalooza. LOVED IT!!!
You’re welcome :)) I also saw them on Friday (November 24th) in Vancouver, BC. I got a full recording of that show also from a different angle. It’s currently uploading. That’s a bummer that they’re not touring near you. Where are you from?
Thanks for sharing this! I’m seeing them in Vegas and think our seats are similar… we are front row on the left -I was worried we wouldn’t be able to see but this angle is great 😊
1:18:23 Dave sang the wrong lyric here. He says "Nothing more than you can FEEL now" but Martin sang "Nothing more than you can TOUCH now" - which is right.
Appreciate the video but it's unfortunate that you can't fully enjoy the concert when you're concentrating on your shot and trying to stand still to prevent wobble.
I was there... pretty close to the stage.. and from the looks of it, his guitar had a problem... and as they were sorting that out, at one point the folks at the console mis-interpreted Dave's comment "we're going to start that song again for you" and hand gesture as the signal to re-start... before Martin had a replacement guitar. That caused them to have to re-start a third and final time.
It was a great show - the technical problem didn't detract from it at all - I thought Dave was really supportive of the band and being a great band leader. We were sitting off the end of the catwalk and it was quite a lively show, especially when the balloons starting to fly around. I wasn't a fan of the sound mix for DIIV (I do mixing professionally) - whomever did that mix did them no favors. I couldn't tell you if I liked them or not, since I really couldn't hear a damn thing except the bass drum.
@@billyclone4289 It is usually the case, but I don't think it's on purpose - some of the problem is that the openers are assigned fewer resources, but with digital boards and such these days that's usually not the problem. I think it's that the opener mixers aren't that experienced and sometimes this is the first tour they have done with a "big" PA. Lack of self control and wisdom can explain some of it - in this case a crazy kick drum and a snare that sounded like garbage pails, and the vocals were all but unintelligible. I speak from experience here, having mixed for a few "names" in the past, and lots of little gigs.
On I Feel You, Martin has a guitar playback that he accompanies with his guitar. Makes the guitar sound of the song more punchy. While the track was playing in correct tune, his guitar was tuned to other guitar tuning. When he noticed this, he stopped playing and the playback guitar that was playing in the back was little hollow sounding.
you don't have anything better to do than complain on multiple people's clips? weird hobby. ETA - you're also missing the point of tens of thousands of fans together singing and enjoying their music live. I saw them in the 90s. Yah, they have aged, and so have a lot of us, their fans, though they are now attracting new fans among teens like my kids. But really, why are you harshing on everyone's enjoyment, including the band's?
Cool story bro. Were you even ALIVE in the 80's and 90's? And yeah what do you do, like watch random concert videos and make "elitist" comments because you think it makes you look cool? Grow up.
@@ashvanes484 Comments don’t suppose to be positive if you feel disappointed. I listened to theme from 1989.. Visited there concerts.. And it is not about there age.. Kraftwerk are still very innovative, there shows are exciting. DM now is a brand.. Like Rolling Stones.. It doesn’t mean what they do now.. Just give a public there all time hits.. But I can compare there input in music 30 years ago and now. They were dedicated to music.. Now it is theatrical.. That’s why I sad that this is like a cover band.. I guess Alan smiles to there poor production, even with there old songs.. they could made theme sound worst...
