This is how Depeche Mode started 1982, (without Vince Clarke of course, who'd left after Just Can't Get Enough). One of their most typically early 80s-sounding songs, along with Leave In Silence. You can hear the more melancholy sound of Martin Gore compared to the bubbly and optimistic sound typical of Clarke.

I remember when my sister had this on Cassette, so catchy and wistful melodically, but the lyrics sure are simpy, D-mode moved out of the teen dating angst themes quickly.
