The Air Force takes care of its people, what a blessing!

I am just now seeing this video although it was made nearly two years ago. But still worth making a comment on.....Your living arrangements there as shown were nothing but to die for. When I was a young trooper during the Vietnam era, I had to share space with ten other funky duds. All crammed into an open floor plan structure called a Quonset hut. There were no bathrooms, no shower (connected to nor inside those QH's), and certainly no laundry facilities. We had to exit the rear of our hut and the bathroom was there in a separate building. We had to each give a couple dollars a month to our assigned domestic helper (NOT the name we called them. Those times were not at all politically correct as now. Our domestic helpers were either called House Boy, Papa-Son, or Mama-Son. Depending on their age. And I swear we underpaid them terribly). They did everything inside and outside. They did our laundry. Including starching and pressing our uniforms. Shinnded our boots. They Kept the hut and latrines clean as janitors and maintenance men as well. There was no A/C, no heat, and no fans. If we wanted A/C it was called leave all the doors and windows open. I wouldn't change a single thing about those days. There was a certain nostalgic romance to serving back then. Even as primitive as it was compared to now.

damn you all got it made lol i was deployed in Iraq 2003 to 2005 25th I.D. Two years and seven months of MRE'S, Wet Wipes, Sleeping on Top of or under Humvees, Hand Washing Clothes, constant rocket/mortar attacks and Burn Pits. Its good to see the Army is improving living conditions there for soldiers in the middle east. Make sure you have a good medical exam when returning the air quality is poor there alot of vets come back with respiratory issues I'm currently rated 100% with SMC- S Pay due to the burn pit exposure during my deployment.

If you still here i would advise to tryout to go hiking there are a lot of great hiking spot here at al Kharj 👌🏻 especially at this time of the year don't forget to bring something to keep you worm it gets freezing coold late at night ❄️

damn...we setup our own tents in 1996 at PSAB...no bathrooms or showers at first. The first dining hall was a mobile filed kitchen.

I was there in 1997. We had a tents to do laundry, latrine, chow, shower... our quarters were 10 man tents. Glad to see the improvements.

How long are typical Air Force deployments? I’d be interested in the Photojournalist/broadcast rate. I’m a mom of 2 and want to join but I need to gather as much information as I can. Thanks for posting this video. I really enjoyed it and it helps to see some of the realities of being in the military. You are in the Air Force and you mentioned that there were Army women out there. I would like to know how common is it for different military branches e.g. Air Force vs Army or Navy to interact with each other and why? Also, how do the different branches of the military get along etc.

Definitely not up to Air Force standards. We did not sign up for tent and open bay. The dorm is more like it.
