The “song” appeared while playing this wonderful instrument that once was gifted to a good friend of mine by his parents. After his sudden unexpected passing the guitar stayed unplayed for a couple of years and then I took it for temporary storage at home.
This particular Carvin was signed by Allan Holdsworth and sold as part of crowdfunding on Pledge Music to support Allan’s last album “Tales From The Vault”.
As far as the “song” is concerned I have recently installed the latest Chase Bliss Audio Mood MK2 update that brings its Stretch mode closer to the original MK1 pedal. I should say I never ever used this Stretch mode before, but I liked this update and found it interesting to play with in overdubbing state.
I used Reverb in the Wet section and this reverb is really something exceptionally well suited for long ambient pads. It just needs a bit of exploration and tweaking together with Hidden option of the cut-filter.
The name “Sleepyhead” refers to the Bjork’s “Scatterheart” as the artificial harmonics in the beginning and in the end sound much like the refrain “You are gonna have to find out for yourself”…
