Eric Helgar and Adalbert Lutter and his orchestra bring their version of the sultry tango-habanera "Der Wind hat mir ein Lied erzählt" from the 1937 melodrama "La Habanera". This movie of course starred Zarah Leander and was directed by Detlev Sierck who, in Hollywood, became Douglas Sirk, the master of melodrama... The song went around the world and was recorded by Zarah Leander in German, Swedish and French but also by singers such as Damia (in French), Greta Keller and many others...
I really like this version by Lutter and Helgar, as I find it very reflective of the movie's exotic atmosphere...
