Good video as a Derby fan this was nice to see shame you did not wait a few days as we are now -21 our actual debt. You also got lucky to get out of admin and get transfer ban lifted quickly that is normally the issue I have had.
Love watching how people approach playing FM, and seeing how different everyone does it., that's why the game is so good as it can be played in so many different ways. I've been doing my own Derby challenge. Set my self the target of winning the champions league within 5 seasons. I recreated a cross between Munich and Ajaxs tactics which has worked great/ Usually when I manage a smallers ide, I try and run it how Ajax is run so use the youth, develop them until they are wanted by the bigger clubs and then rebuild with a few extra signings. First season: started with -21 points Finished 15th comfortably - No transfers in summer obviously due to the embargo, club was bought in December so was out of it in Jan and brought in some loan signings. Season 2: Destroyed the league by 14 points I think it was. Brouhgt in a few youngsters on frees in the summer, end of the season released some of the older players and brought in some more youngsters with big potential and some not too old experienced ones ready for the Prem. Season 3: Surprisingly finished 3rd in the Prem after a great jan transfer windowbringing in some awesome talent. Also won the FA Cup And now almost at the end of seaosn 4: Won the prem with 6 games to go, finsihing that poorly though drawing loads of games at the end. In the FA Cup final again v West Ham and agonisingly lost in the Champions League Semi Final 4-3 on pens. So I have one more season to complete my challenge and I have some good youngsters ready to step up I think, not going to sign anyone, just sell off a few to accomodate the youngsters. Tom Lawrence and Louis Sibly are quality althugh Lawrence did leave last season I think it was. He was great on free kicks, scored almost every one he took. Siblley is an assist machine and scores a few on top of that and can play in multiple positions. Also, on my save at least, The first youth intake was great, got some awesome talent come in, was poor after that though which led me to bringing in a new HOYD which improved it for season 4.
I started the Derby save with -12 points. Only sold Bobby Duncan in the 1st transfer window for 7.5 M€ and couldn't bring anyone in due to the transfer embargo. Relied a lot on Baldock as a Pressing Forward in the first half of the season. Got out of administration on December 16th, got in a couple of loans such as Delap and Callum Morton and bought Charlie Goode and Steve Cook, finished 6th and won the playoff! Louis Sibley as a Mezzala on attack is insane.
I’m doing a derby. I decided to not sell at the start and work it from there, I’m entering January soon. I’m currently 14th! Really enjoyable save, I’ve got some decisions to make though, I’ll need to sell atleast one or two maybe in jan? Most deffo in the summer. I like how you sold straight away though. Some nice signings also 👍 love saves like this!
Derby County have actually had 2 point deductions and face a possible third... So far they've lost 21 points of their 22 points won this season it's really quite sad to see.
keep up the good work love these rebuilding videos would love to see you do more seasons though like bring them major success like it doesnt end unitl you win a major trophy just a thought great video though
Could resign and fast forward 5 years to see how they do without you? Like a short catch up video. Or split the save, do one where you do one more season as well?
Depends really. If the team is good it’s quick, if they’re bad it’s slow! That’s why I tend to pick a goal that I think is achievable in 3/4 seasons for these otherwise it would be months between rebuild videos
Potentially, there’s a few things to do such as trying offer out without listing etc first but honestly there’s not much you can really do to influence it. Players have different values and abilities across different saves because of dynamic ranges, potential and lots of other factors so to be really honest.. it’s just down to luck
You’ll need to ensure you have South American leagues loaded and then either go and check out the clubs there, or international teams. Or send your scouts there 👍
