Remember doing similar I think the stream was Cotton brook and the old graveyard was always a challenge! Newt pond also on the other side of Ascot Drive. Good childhood memories

I used to walk over it everyday when I was an apprentice at the Rolls-Royce training school, Ascot Drive. Thanks for the giving me a glimpse into those distant days.

Many's the time I've walked or cycled across here. Used to stand on the crossbar of my pushbike to get photos of the stock in the sidings beneath. Thanks for the memories.

Sounds a bit dangerous. Did you have Smiler holding your bike steady?

God this brings back memories. I even remember the old church and graveyard at the Ascot Drive end of it. I think its now the Skip hire place.

Remember when they excavated the graves at that churrch. I was at Wilmorton Tech and we went down and saw sheets around the graves to hide from the public.

Hi All, can anyone tell me where exactly the old wooden bridge was?

At the far end of Derby Carriage and Wagon works (Bombardier) Osmaston Road more or less opposite to the junction of Davenport Rd and Osmaston Road. The other end of the bridge continued as Longbridge lane to the Junction with Ascot Drive. (Ascot Drive joined London Road with Osmaston Rd.)

@@daysken Great thanks, I'd never heard of the bridge before which is odd as come from a family of train geeks.
