Who said it's about fame. I'm tired of people thinking rap can't bring glory to God and God can't use it? Pharisee Christians always judge what they don't like and try to spend it as God disapproves cause they disapprove cause they don't like it. No wonder people are atheist and non believers and don't want nothing to do with the church or Christianity or anything cause how can people believe they can be saved and changed if everything they do will be under a microscope by other religious people? I know you can't love the world and be worldly and in the flesh and you can't partake or participate in unrighteous and sickness and evil. But there's a difference between living a lifestyle and being the type of person who is not of the lord and not glorifying God and having your heart far from him. But I been listening to rap since before I was a teenager and now I'm in my mid 30s but I have listened to and done gospel rap back in the day when it was looked at as corny back in the early 2000s. I've listened to grits, tbone, gospel gangsters ( they named themselves that because they were legit in gangs before they stopped gangbanging and came to and gave they're life to Christ and started doing gospel rap) to cross movement to 116 and reach records just to name a few. Point is if you really actually really listen to the lyrics of the song and really tried to see how they are preaching the gospel and Christ in their songs then you know that it's genuine and legit but church folk want to hold on to dull and old rituals they think make them more holy. Not everyone life experience is the same to dictate how God will use them and the talent they have. It is what it is I guess, I'm not gonna let nobody on comments or social media or my parents or my pastors( which they don't condemn it) or anyone but God tell me it can't be glorifying to God and I lived knowing long enough about it and God hasn't ever done that except with the rap that doesn't especially mainstream secular and people should think about that because I will listen to rap one way or another I'm sorry but when I started listening to music rap was the first type of music I started listening to so it's kinda a part of me. The thing is I and anyone else can choose to listen to rap that builds, uplifts and leads you to truth and life and to Christ or listen to rap that tears down, is negative and ignorant and destructive and leads you to death and away from God. Jesus ran from crowds, not towards them. They followed him and not the other way around. He didn't act like a king, nor did he treat himself better than anyone else. Remember the only people who seek fame are those who serve the world. Jesus calls us to spread the gospel, this doesn't require fame. You have neighbors and family who also need Jesus. When someone is famous, they are put on a pedestal, Christ is the only one worthy of such admiration. Why? Because fame consumes you. You become an idol, and there is no man before Christ.
