@@rodrigoaltaf983 exactly, and that’s one of Derek’s real gifts; writing records with real diversity from track to track but making it all fit together cohesively
Well, Derek can go fast aswell. I don't wanna compare them about that cuz it is not a race, lol, and we all know how fast and skilled Jordan is, possibly my fave aswell, but Derek can be fast and, as u say TASTY too. I love them both truly much, brother. Chick Corea my absolute fave from the past, what a genius.... RIP to the Maestro !
He did the complete last solo record Oceana. Which was really good. This just seems like noodling something different to show what he can do. If I wanted this, I would go listen to Hiromi w/Simon. Same thing.
Simon! I am a fan of Simon's! Since the 80s. I believe he was mis-cast in Michael Schenkers group, but he did well in Mike Oldfiels group. Wonderfully inventive and relaxed dude!
Beautiful work and beautiful album guys! It's amazing to see how entire songs/albums like this are recorded with video production quality we could've only dreamed of just a few years back!
I was hoping it was a cover of the Frank Marino/Mahogany Rush tune, but still liking this a lot. Simon's a jazz monster, so this arrangement is right up his alley.
Wow that was so good I started playing with my dog 0.o we both ran in a circle for over 39 minutes... I love Derek's playing. I get my piano voice from this cat thanks Derek!!!... The rest of his band tho...Holy shit
Kevin Moore is a DT former and Jeff Porcaro is a Toto former. Simon Phillips joined in 1992 on kingdom of desire world tour, and Derek joined in 1994 on the Awake tour
Very cool - it's great to hear Sherinian playing acoustically. I hear a little Return to Forever in there without guitar. Nice track and stellar playing all around.
